Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I have attempted to use the MSFS 2020 training module for a take-off. Everything is OK until I set the controls ready for take -off, but there is no ECAS display for the engines and moving the thrust levers has no effect, although there appears to be some noise for idling engines. Additionally the fuel level shows almost empty. I am wondering whether this is a bug or do I have a wrong setting somewhere ?

I am not sure I am describing this properly, or if there is even a problem. I was flying around NYC and until I got very close the city, it looked very odd, almost like I was looking at another planet. Once I was essentially right on top of the city, it looked liked NYC but was not very crisp. Are the cities supposed to look good from a distance? Perhaps because I have limited time in MSFS I am not sure what it should look like. I do have several items in my community folder and have run updates without removing those items first. Is that a problem? It seems from what I have read that it may very well be (dumb move on my part if so). If so, should I pull the items out of …

I tried to lfly an ILS approach in the Longitude to Tulsa (KTUL) Rwy 36R. Good approach until just before the flare. Noticed a whole bunch of yellow XX on the runway. It look like Bing Maps took the image when the runway was closed. OOPs I hope I don't get a please explain from the FAA for landing on a closed runway.😁

Hello, I have noted the following behavior on MSFS 2020 when I connected to VATSIM: I see the VATSIM traffic and AI Traffic on the simulator and in the Little NavMap. In LNM the traffic appears as: AI/Multiplayer Aircraft/On Line Client. Beside that the VATSIM traffic appears perfect. These are the options: Multiplayer: OFF AirTraffic: OFF Wheather and Time: LIVE The AI traffics appears when I get connection through vPilot to VATSIM. Before that there is no traffic on FS2020. Have I missed any option in the configuration of MSFS 2020? Thanks in advanced, Rodolfo

I have no direct proof that is is MSFS related but it seems more than a coincidence. Since I installed MSFS (MS Store version) on a different drive than my Windows installation, my storage space on the Windows drive has been going down pretty dramatically. I could not figure out why. Today I had only 200MB left on my Windows drive and from looing at Storage usage, it said my pagefile was using 54GB of drive space! I have 32GB of RAM, so there is no reason for Windows to want to create such a huge pagefile. I had to change the pagefile settings from having Windows mange it to a custom more appropriate pagefile size. Never had this issue before with W…

Does anyone know if there are requirements for a freeware airport to be uploaded, or anyplace that is required, etc?

Started up on the runway at MMMX, then selected live weather, and my Caravan sat up in an unusual way. Wind was at 61 knots, and about 25 of it was cross. Had to turn off live weather for the takeoff. I wonder if it had something to do with the airport being at 7,300'? It made for a nice tail wing once I was up.

Flew an X-Cub out of Sedona, AZ, USA (KSEZ elevation 1472m) and climbed to an elevation of 2,800m and then descended into Flagstaff (KFLG elevation 2,138m). The ambient temperature (reported by ATIS) at both airports was 17° C as it was mid-August, mid-day and one would expect it to be at least a bit warm. The X-Cub (high performance 215hp version) had a terrible time holding any altitude above 2,000m and was very sluggish in flight. Upon landing at KFLG I exited the airplane to discover it covered in ice! ICE at an ambient temp of 17° C and an RH below 50% - how can that be? [email protected] ghz..Nvidia GeForce rtx3080 32 ram.I just put a large file in manual cache but I have noticed before that my FPS starts at around 60 but gradually slips to 40 FPS.Ihave the settings to high and fly over populated areas.Any thoughts? thx Jay

FS2020 just installed on Windows 10, I7, 3770, 8GB, 1650S Video, CH yoke and pedals. Both the 152 and 172 bounce so bad that it is impossible to control or do anything on the dash. Holding the yoke constant the vertical speed will go from 2,000 fpm down to 2,000 f/m up. Finally got the 172 on autopilot and it could not control the altitude. I finally hit escape just before diving into the ground. This is the 2nd install (1st time on different identical machine) and the first install did the same thing. Hi all, Now that I am trying the Prosim beta version over the Netherlands I have added a lot of freeware for the Netherlands (21 Gb) from Flightsim.to. I now experience the issue that as soon as the black loading screen appears after startup it remains black. Tried it 3 times and after 7 minutes still black.With just a few freeware it starts up very quickly. Is it normal that with 20+ Gb it might take a very long time ? Never had that with P3D so I do not know if this is normal behavior. All advices are welcome. regards, Gerard

Please can I ask why it seems there is a lack of multiplayer sounds from other people with the same aircraft in Microsoft 2020 I have 2 carenado aircraft and it seems they both suffer from the same problem as other 3rd party aircraft do. The default aircraft that comes with the sim all are great except for 3rd party content, is it a problem implementing it with the developer kit at the moment or just an over sight when producing these aircraft, I hate to hear a silent plane start up next to me, kind regards Dave

I know this might be an odd question here, since most of us want more systems depth and not less, but is it possible to gain the flight model improvements of the mod without the added systems integration? That’s currently keeping from using the mod. I don’t have the time anymore to mess with FMCs and the like. I would like to just make short hop, say from Tampa to Miami without a lot of hoopla, but still be able to fly the aircraft by the numbers. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Hi all, please help. I had MSFS awhile back but switched to x-plane about 3 years ago. Now w/MSFS out, there is just a ton more of add-on’s I’m seeing everywhere I look, so that’s one big thing. Second big thing is x-plane has NO actual add-on missions like MSFS had, with voice over, like actual missions. Im a real world 172 recreational pilot & have exhausted all the training aspects that x-plane offers & am now bored with just flying aimlessly. I really miss the exciting missions from MSFS. If the realism of the flight characteristics are close or the same as of x-plane, then why should I stay with x-plane? Any input I’d appreciate, thanks.

Just flown out of LFPG and am transfixed by the cars hurdling around Terminal 1 and also whilst taxying through some of the underpasses. I did see something similar at a remote Gate on another airport where the road seemed to cut across the corner of the apron and all cars had a little bunny hop

LOWI Innsbruck, an Orbx airport add on seems to have developed a hump in the runway which throws you into the air prematurely, has anybody else noticed this?

It all started when, after the last update, the sim crashed to the desktop and, upon restart, MS no longer recognized the sim. To make a long story short, I decided to reinstall it. I went through the reinstall, and at the very first prompt where the path is displayed, I changed the install drive path. After 20 hours, the program appears to be "installing" , yet no progress. I've gone over some of the youtube help for stuck installs, but nothing I've done seems to work. The only advice is to drop download speed to 2mb/s. Anyway, as I write this, I've got the installation manager churning files, but I am not sure if tomorrow morning the sim will be install…

In joystick profile form you see two column : first column is for joystick button assigned but for what is the second one ?

Does anyone else notice that you cannot arm the LOC or APP correctly w/AP on? I find that anytime I try to arm for an intercept, the plane will try to turn immediately rather than keeping the current heading until capturing the localizer. I almost have to time it perfectly to press LOC or APP. Is this a known issue? Almost every time, I have to disengage the AP, turn back to the course I was on and right as the localizer starts to move, turn on LOC or APP. Does this plan on being fixed?

What setting controls the speed of the AC when moving it in slew mode? When setting a parking gate, it is never lined up where it should. I put it in slew, I can yaw it and move forward or backward slowly, but to go laterally left or right, I find myself at the outskirts of the airport. I tried all the camera settings for speed, but that doesn't do it. Gnacino
