Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Hello all I've been using Track IR on a single monitor with my desktop for years. I am purchasing a laptop (for second home) along with a 4K monitor and would like to put the Track IR on the larger monitor. Is that an issue or not, and secondly, what settings do I need to adjust? Hi everyone Just hoping somebody can help please. From yesterday the sim has stsrtrd crashing when the blue bar reaches about 50-60%. Everything stops and i go to the main screen...no messages. After trying everything...removing all controller one by one , deleting all addons it crashed at same point. Than I decided to do a fresh window 10 reinstall and fresh sim load with no addons...still the same. Just now I removed all the controllers and the sim has loaded perfectly-but I have no controllers. Has anybody experienced this. Otherwise it seems my days with msfs2020 have suddenly come to an end. Looking forward to all the hel…

When i try to fly direct to a VOR expect to see DME ...... but nothing doing ..... this is using latest WT mod??? (visited Github in hope of being able to put the question to them, but couldn't find a contact link) This a message for any Moderator who happens to be passing: perhaps when you decide my post has to gain the site's approval before posting, it'd be basic good manners to tell me what infraction I've committed so I can avoid it next time .... thanks

Just saw this at NVIDIA's CES 2021 conference, showcasing the simulator running on the RTX 3080 Mobile on a laptop. Go to 39:24. I don't know how good the current state of multiple screen functionality is right now. Could anyone comment? Have to say though, it was disappointing to see the coastline and morphing glitches being extremely obvious.

If THAT title doesn't nab ya...nothing will! LOL. Anyway...had a nice, leisurely flight from KTPA to Key West. After I landed, I parked my Mooney in my private hangar there (hey, a guy can dream!)....and after putting her to bed...I noticed a TBM flying over the airport from mainland, about 100 ft agl, hauling butt. Not that it was that unusual (given the crazy stuff some simmers do).....I put on data tags to see who it was. No data tag! No big deal, but then about 5 mins later, another.....just like it, same heading, speed, alt. Intrigued, I followed this one....seeing the 1st in the distance....then looked behind me...sure enough, another one....hmm…

Hi simmers 🙂 Download here: Alex Projects - Little Navmap 2.6.7 released (albar965.github.io) On of a couple of fixes: MSFS: Added workaround for the simulator crashes that were introduced with the MSFS 1.12.13.0 update. This was possible due to a hint in the official forum. The workaround disables the display of departure and destination for AI. cheers 😉

It's got its flaws, but I really like this airport.

I can see why making airports is more profitable than making aircrafts. The developer who comes up with an aircraft and panel builder like Abacus( if ever possible) like we had in the old days will definitely find a large, hungry market.

After hunting down a wrong path in my Carenado Mooney GPS bug thread. I was able to find the problem. With username containing (in my case Ø) non English letter: The destination is locked to last visited. Solution to this is to tick off beta box in Win Admin to read URF . This fix creates a new bug: Selecting a (normal length) route between Departure and Arrival - the result is far off. Distance is always higher than 5000 nm . Desired Track is far off. And aircraft do fly in wrong direction - not following magenta track. I have tested this - confirmed

Is there a printable manual somewhere and where do I find it?

Hello guys. Sorry if i'm posting in the wrong section. I'm a fellow beginner in MFS 2020 and i request some advices from Pro's. I've recorded a landing doing the Nice Challenge landing. I don't know if i'm doing the landings the proper way because i'm struggling to keep the plane in lane because it is bouncing very hard. Here's the link : Sorry for the audio, it's a bit delayed. After examining the video can you please give me some advices/hints to do smother landings? Also can you tell me please if i'm doing something wrong in this landing?

In P3D turning on environmental effects on a low spec PC brought everything to a standstill, with frame rates dropping into the lower single digits. In MSFS these come at little to no penalty in performance, and look good on geriatric hardware at medium settings. Now, it could always look and run a tad better, but so far so good.

Anybody using this airport yet? I would like to hear a review or two.

A normal afternoon of flight simming and adding various updates from the freeware additions, but for some reason I now have zero autogen buildings anywhere in the world, and no airport buildings? I've tried re-starting, eliminating new scenery additions, etc. - no dice - plenty of trees but no buildings anywhere? Never encountered this before - the only "strange" thing I did was installing (then deleting) a payware airport into the community folder (one of those simmarket "representation of XXX" airports) - but I doubt that did it. Any ideas? It's like I suddenly no longer have any stock autogen building models including those at airports like my local KSB…

If some developer could create a lovely scenery of Portland Oregon and the surrounding area, I would pay you hard American currency for it. Portland is a fantastic town and a lot of fun to fly around. It looks pretty junky right now. It has a fantastic payware airport already, so we're almost there! Thank you for your consideration. So discard my rig and my settings. If I select VSYNC ON and limit the frames to 60, the sim holds up pretty good to that value giving me a "green" FPS counter in DEV mode. My video card works hard but it manages it. I can look around the cockpit and everything is mostly butter smooth. Selecting a lower FPS limit e.g. 30, the sim is clearly not smooth and the FPS counter is mostly red / yellow showing values of 24-28 seldom jumping to 30. My video card relaxes drinking coffee with this setting. I had expected that if my rig is able to hold 60FPS, it would hold 30 without sweating.

Just wondering if there is something out there that will let me auto-pause the sim when at TOD or x nm from my destination? I used to use FSUIPC for this in p3d and fsx but I cant find that function in the msf version.

I have 2 days worth of the latest mod and have had the same thing happen twice and I am wondering if anyone else has this. I am on final into KALB and KORD with AP off, FD off and A/T on. I was in selected speed at 180 kts until about 5-7 nm out then switch back to managed. I drop the gear, and reduce my flaps accordingly until they are full. Both times, my speed dropped well below what was calculated in PERF and I started to get "stall, stall" warnings. To avoid going into alpha floor, I turned off the A/T and went manual in order to keep my speed up and land. The entire time i was getting "don't sink, don't sink" until I landed. I like to be able to see as much of the plane's cowl as possible from my cockpit seat. I've used the up and down arrows on the keyboard and I get a minimal view of the cowl in the 152. I would like to simulate sitting higher in my seat and see far out over the cowl. What setting do I have to engage or set to do that. I've tried the height setting in controls but no matter where I set it, the end result is still the same when I'm back in the plane. Do you know what I mean, and do you have a suggestion for me? I wanted to share some images with the flight sim community of a project that Rob Ainscough and I have been working on for a couple of months. I have been figuring out how tree colors work in the sim, developing a tool that generates file content so I can create color themes quickly, and creating several color themes/presets. Rob has been working diligently on the application build side of things, which encompasses a lot of work.
