Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Since it is "required" to fly over your own house after installing a new sim, I attempted to do just that after 2020's launch. I started from an airport 40 minutes away by car, out of which I flew for 10 years. The terrain and the airport were strikingly realistic, and I was able to follow familiar roads and highways. This helped assure that I would be flying to exactly the right location where my house was supposed to be. Bummer! When I arrived, not only was my house not there - the entire area, roads and buildings, were autogened, and looked nothing like the real area (which is well-populated, but rural). For me the A320neo in MSFS just does not cut it yet, even with the Flybywire mod. I had the PMDG 737 and the Aerosoft A320 in FSX and I have gone back to flying them until MSFS sorts itself out which it seems will take at least a year! PMDG say they want to get their 737 into MSFS but the platform is not ready and won't be until at least Q3 2021. You would think that Microsoft would take what works from FSX including the flying lessons which are way superior in FSX.

I may be asking a "non-realistic" question, but in P3D/FSX, most autopilots allowed me to engage an Altitude hold whilst allowing free use of aileron control. Is this possible in the default FS2020 airplanes? If not, is anyone aware of a mod to do this?

Via Orbx Central 'Discover' I can see a World view map that shows the location of all the Orbx airfields that I own. Is there a World view map somewhere that will show all the airfields I have installed in MSFS? T45

Hi! The Mooney is somehow lagging for me. It's not low FPS as i am holding perfectly 30Hz. It's more like a judder every few seconds. Especially while taxiing and close to the ground. Anyone else having this? Best regards, Tom

Hi all At startup of MSFS, I see mention of different features of the USA update, which mentions a discovery flight. I expect I would find this under 'activities'. I have searched everywhere, even the lessons and landing challenge page, but haven't been able to find it. Could someone in the know advise me on how to get to it? Thanks in advance.

Hello, I just noticed that on my A320 the initial point of view (eypoint) is completely raised in height. I looked everywhere but I can not find the solution. I emptied the Community folder, the problem persists so it does not come from the A32NX. I deleted the A320 Neo by default from content management I re-downloaded the A320 from content management and still have the same problem Strangely enough, although I deleted and then reloaded the A320, my custom camera views all remained. I specify that at each step I stopped MSFS then restarted the game So I conclude that there is a file somewhere that keeps all of this, but where ??

Today I tested the loading time of MSFS. I was surprised to see how extra scenery drives up the loading time from startup to main UI. My system : 7940X 14 [email protected] GHz / 32 Gb 3600 / 2 Tb SDD M2 / RTX 3090 I have downloaded almost everything from the Netherlands and some scenery from Frankfurt at Flightsim.to. By clicking the world map you can start your flight where ever you want, but as far as I know you are not able to set altitude, heading nor speed. Is there a mod that lets you do this?

Good eveninng, I just took out the Mooney for a little while after she was sitting in the hanger quite some time. Nice flight and all went well until shutdown when the prop just continued to spin at 170-180 RPM. Fuel was cut off and everything else was cold and dark and still it turned and turned...never to be stopped. Is this a known thing or something only i am experiencing? Best regards, Tom

Hi guys......... With the Mooney released, I jumped off the fence and purchased both Mooney and fs2020 this week. I am familiar with both classic VOR navigation and FMS. - But new to Garmin (in Carenado Mooney) After creating the flightplan - and jumping into aircraft, the path is magenta, my guess it is activated. Dep airport and next waypoint clearly visible. Flying and engaging Nav on AP the aircraft turns straight north. Garmin is in GPS mode. . Tried several wild clicks on flightplan page, highlight and hit Enter, and similar stuff.. Also watching tutorials. Not able to find the manual.... Dear all! I’m writing you regarding a problem i’m experiencing with my Flight sim 2020 since the last weekly update which has been done. I don’t really know whether this topic fits in this forum as I’m quite new here. However, the issue i’ve encountered: when FS2020 starts and loads through ‘checking for new updates’ until the screen with USA popup pictures where the blue bar loads below, the screen eventually freezes when the blue bar reaches the end, to remain loading endlessly. I’ve tried everything, installing new video drivers and Windows drivers, disabling the firewall, starting ik Admin mode, uninstalling and reinstalling Flight sim, but nothing…

Wondering if others are finding the same. I'm crashing like cray after landing because the rudder is so sensitive. It appears to be either centered, or deflected all the way to one side or the other. Meaning any attempt to steer down the runway after touchdown results in catastrophe. I use the keyboard for control.

Was flying in nice clouds and the game froze. I had saved the flight 10 minutes earlier, so I reloaded it and OF COURSE back to clear skies. For some idiotic reason, you STILL cannot change the weather when reloading a flight. I have complained and complained and complained about this ridiculous stupidity and resulting uselessness of saving a flight, but absolutely no one seems to care. Is it just me that thinks such a basic function in a flight simulator that is prone to randomly crash and freeze is STILL GARBAGE 5 months after release??? This can probably be fixed in a matter of minutes (be able to change weather settings in a loaded flight).

I took the Flybywire A320 Northwest airlines livery from Chicago to San Diego then on to Honolulu and taxi to the gates, there were four or five other NWA a320's exactly like mine sitting at the gates. Northwest Airlines hasn't flown in more than ten years, they merged with Delta. I would have took a screen shot but forgot how as I haven't made one in more than ten years. Anyone else?

Hi. I am running the sim in 1920 x 1080 resolution. The taxiway signs are really small in MSFS. In FSX, they are nice a big and very legible. In MSFS, I can barely make out the letters and in various instances, the plane is only 20 feet to 30 feet away from the taxiway sign. Without using an airport chart with the taxiway signs, it's virtually impossible for me to taxi around an airport by using the taxiway signs because they are too small. As a passenger, I remember the taxiway signs can be easily read from 20 feet to 30 feet away. Does Asobo need to fix the taxiway signs and make them bigger and more legible?

Hi Frustratingly and out of no where X52 Pro Joy Stick does not Steer any Aircraft in MSFS 2020 1.13. The Aircraft goes straight unstoppable. Secondly the Throttles are out of sync. Moving the throttle forward, only one throttle advances. I have mapped quite a few buttons including the rudders and it was working fine till yesterday. It started with trying to fly FBW A320Neo from UUEE to EPWA. The newest MOD. I don't know if its related. The crazy thing, The joy stick works perfectly in LM V5.1. Calibration is perfect. I have the newest Logitech 64bit HOTAS driver installed So it is an MSFS problem. Any help will be appreciated. Bill

I have been having this problem just started this week. All my airport textures are as if I'm offline. . I am also not downloading data for the sim. My data consumption says zero to this and stays there. Any help would be great. Thank you Anthony

To get around the 10 degree bug with the Honeycomb yoke, I downloaded RS Mapper to "short-circuit" the constant on state of the rocker switches. The app works like a charm except for when mapping the beacon, taxi and nav switches. MSFS recognizes the keystrokes after binding them, but in game the switch doesn't activate when the same sequence is triggered. Binding keystrokes to the Set and Toggle (ie Set Beacon Lights & Toggle Beacon Lights) options will activate the switch, but the result isn't correct when bound to a rocker switch on the Alpha. It seems the air stairs won't stay connected. The truck leaves within a minute. Anyone else has this behavior?
