Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Today I was trying to check some airport sceneries for Central and South America and found they were missing or misplaced. An example, MPTO, Tocumen International airport in Panama, a central hub for Copa airlines is missing. SPIM, Lima, Peru is also missing. This airport is a major hub for Latam airlines and one of the busiest in South America. SGAS, Silvio Petrosi International airport in Asuncion, Paraguay appears right in the middle of Argentina's territory. SUMU, Montevideo International airport in Uruguay is also missing. I hope they update these and many other major airports around the world soon.

I was flying in the area of Talkeetna the other day and I passed over a cool little strip on the shore of a small body of water called Parker Lake (0AK3). Even in VFR conditions, the field is a challenge to land on, since it’s very short, and it's a one way, in and out field (due to tall trees on the south end). It’s also an unlevel, being higher at the south end than the lake end. Hi, I noticed the last update talked about new liveries for each aircraft, but I do not appear to have any. I only have the one original one. I checked the content manager and everything shows as up to date, so I am not sure if I should have new liveries or not?

It took a new control interface to get this aircraft operable for me, but now that it's running, I absolutely love it! (both the aircraft and the G3000 are the modded versions) I don't know how this matches up to the real world, but on this 936 NM trip at FL 280: 3 Adults and 40 lbs.of baggage 281 gal. fuel (1883 lbs.) for :45 reserve Averaged 323 kt TAS and 325 kt GS I had some crosswinds that ran from 52 - 77 kt On one leg with a quartering front crosswind at 71 kt my TAS dropped to 311 kt Quite a machine!

Just saw that they have published this aircraft for MSFS. Who's the first one to try it? The price is very attractive, and there's no need for folks to talk about their poor quality. For the price, we need to be realistic.

I noticed in EVGA's Precision X1 that GPU usage (roughly 98%) shows a dip (and microstutter) every 60 seconds exactly. The tracing over time looks like an unhealthy EKG! Any thoughts on cause/remedy?

I had X Plane 11 before FS 2020 & used the ATC to navigate my flights...is this VFR (VOR to VOR)? I want to do the same in FS 2020 but I'm not getting any heading / altitude guidance. I've created a flight plan...is there something else I need to do once in the cockpit? Also when I'm airborne in a 747 or 320 the plane banks all over the place but it's fine when I'm in a Cessna. I'm using a Logitech Yoke.

My Bravo Throttle was shipped on Dec. 24. According to the tracking, it made it's way to Lantau Island in Hong Kong the first day, and has been sitting there ever since. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is this normal? Thanks, Russ

I habe been unable to bind the speedbrake lever on the Honeycomb Brave throttle to give a smooth operation when selected. I have tried all the bindings that I can find but none give a smooth lever operation. Has anyone been sucessful at binding the speedbeake lever so it operates as an axis, rather than down or up. Hello, I found with LORBYs AxisAndOHs AAO a very, very powerful software which supports now my VRInsight MCP II (Boeing) panel and my new Elgato StreamDeck. I contacted Oliver (AAO Developer) around Xmas if he has a solution for my hardware, and some days later, he had now developed a VRInsight MCP Bridge and a reworked plugin for the Elgato StreamDeck, my new favorite Hardware. I have had a little "Homecockpit" i earlier days, or better said a kind of self constructed switch panel. I am tired of trimming with joystick buttons. It's so awkward and frustrating. I'd really like one with a wheel or slider that can be linked to the trim axis. But it's very hard to buy one that's ready made. Saitek used to have a standalone trim wheel but that's not even available on Ebay. Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant has embedded a trim wheel, but I heard it can only be assigned to trim buttons, not axis. Will that be a big problem? Can any of the sliders of THRUSTMASTER TCA Quadrant be used as a trim wheel? Are there any other commercial choices out there? I can't DIY and I don't have the time. Thank you for any suggestion in advance.

Why is there not one in the sim already.? Was a default in MS sims before MSFS. Help me understand.

I installed the Addon linker and following the guidance offered by bad2000 (YouTube). It appears to have been correctly installed. With the addon working and a number of airports selected I started MSFS 2020. The small 1GB update had previously been installed. MSFS continued the process of loading until the loading line was done and then no further activity. I went on to other activity and on return still no movement. It was still stuck at the New Activities (Statue of Liberty) page of MSFS. I would appreciate any help dealing with this issue. Thank you. Rolf

Maybe you folks can help me out here. From my research I understand that FS gets the snow depth information from meteoblue. This depth is shown as 'accumulation' within the sim (once over a certain level). Ok, all well and good. However the snow depth link (snow depth) has indicated 'no data' for 11 days straight. So, question: How are you seeing accumulated snow in the sim with live weather?

Hi, First, I'm wondering if the Caravan (my GA plane of preference these days) offers any vertical decent assistance with RNAV approaches... either LPV or LNAV? Does anyone know? Also, how to interpret RNAV approach plates... This airport in Port Angeles has a WAAS notation at the top which should support an LPV approach with vertical guidance, but I don't see LPV mentioned in the table at the bottom. Is it only LNAV? Why offer WAAS if not LPV? What number is the actual minimums here? Here's another one... Port Hardy... It seems more basic than the previous. It has a WAAS channel at the top, and what looks like an LPV minimum at the bottom...…

Has anything change? I got the basic package for which didn't include the 787. I want the 787 and only 787. I'm not paying 100% for the product they offer. I'd rather wait for something else. Anyway.. back to my question. Is there any movement/change in allowing people to buy just what they want. Is there a 787 or A350 model out there or coming? even a 777? I'm only on here part time so don't follow this enough to know the answers.

So this crazy thing just happened to me....Right before I landed, MSFS picked up the latest METAR and the wind went from 80 knots to zero....what a crazy change. Hi All, Obviously incredible development by all involved in this sim. I’m a vetted VATSIM user w/ 10+ years online experience - and most interesting to me is the multiplayer in the new MSFS... My question is: Are there any existing groups (discord, Reddit, etc) that solely focus on group flights? if not, is anyone interested in starting one? would be great to fly with some of you all. So I have installed the livery megapack for various aircrafts, however, I also wanted to install a separate norwegian livery that wasnt part of the megapack. How do I actually do this? The megapack liveries are showing up, but the norwegian livery isnt.

Hello everyone, Discussed that problem in another tread but it will be easier to make a new one, I just finished my new setup and running into a wall with FPS, I have a ryzen 5600x, rtx 3070, 32gb ram 3600mhz, ssd and a samsung 49" ultrawide monitor The problem is that I can barely reach 25FPS in 5120x1440 resolution, game mode is on, hardware accelerated GPU on with mfs set to high performance, I even tried to reduce the resolution in 3840x1080 both in windows display setting and in game (which is not the point to spend 1000 euros in a 4k monitor) and I not even gain 10fps by doing that, Monitor refresh rate set to 60 and freesyn…

If I add a new livery in the community folder and decide I dont like it, do I get rid of it by just deleting the livery folder? Or does it add any entries to MSFS or windows that could result in issues when the folder is deleted?
