Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

If I use and install the navdata from navigraph will it always stay on that current cycle even when Asobo updates MSFS with new navdata? Reason I ask is because I want to stick to one cycle and not have to constantly update. Perhaps update it once a year or something is perfectly fine for me, but I definitely do not need to have the latest navdata at all times.

Observed these during a flight yesterday. These are along the Colorado River, seen westbound nearing Grand Canyon West airport (KGCW/GCW). One is color. The other is elevation. The airport location is coming into view in the second shot just ahead of the left wing. The red water was a few nm earlier.

I have looked for info on the issue I’m having but can’t seem to figure it out. I have found the folder according to the developers path in my copy of the sim. It has a few entries of orbix scenery’s. I put the folder that contains the G1000 mod in the community folder but has no effect on the G1000 in the DA62. Would someone please guide me thru this. Tower was reporting 3 miles vis with snow. No runway 11 in sight during approach even after reloading and parking aircraft on ramp. Still no runway lights, only some blue taxi lights and building lights visible. Do I need to activate the lights somehow when landing in dark, or is this what is after the airports update? Thanks.

Since the release of Ali's VHHX Kai Tak, I thought that all my CTDs in that area was to do with that scenery. In the past couple of days, with the release of FreakyD's Hong Kong (building up scenery) I continued with my flights in that area. Still I was getting CTDs in the same locations. For another reason, to do with the latest correction for the WT CJ4, I undertook a completely mod free, except for the WT CJ4, flight and flew from VHHH. In exactly the same spots I encountered CTDs. Obviously there is a buggy thing there and for sure it is not to do with either of the HK scenery or the VHHX one. Is anyone else getting a similar experience in this area and having CT…

Hi all, Currently I am testing the Prosim 737 NG in MSFS. Flying half an hour to do some sightseeing at low altitude is no problem. Making longer flights always result in a crash. I need some help with the MCDU in the A320 (FBW mod). I’m coming from the 208B so I’ve watched a lot of YouTube videos from 320 Sim Pilot and others, but still have some challenges. I like to fly realistically so when planning my flight, I leave the runway and approach unassigned, and wait for it to be assigned by ATC. When I get the assignment, from ATC, like “ILS Runway 14R via AGM” how do I add that? I tried it tonight and buggered something up. How do you activate the approach? I’ve seen a video where it says to do it on the PERF page, but I had no such option. Just next phase and previous phase to cycle through the phases. Nothing to activate. Does hitti…

I wonder if Asobo planning to implement windshield wiper that actually clean rain drops! I know it's a little thing, but a nice feature to have. I haven't read anything about it anywhere yet. I know WBF A320 has windshield wiper but it just animation and doesn't clean window, so I assume SDK doesn't allow to implement it fully.

I am pretty well aware of the 3rd party US airports that are available now, but does anyone know what is slated to come out eventually? I'd have to assume KSFO, KPHX, and MSP from Flightbeam is being worked on, but I am not certain. Any ideas?

I have been running MSFS since it was released with no real problem. Loaded all the updates, no issues. Now all of the sudden I am getting strange happenings. First, a few days ago when I attempted to load the program it hung up on a black screen and wouldn't load. I uninstalled and reinstalled then it loaded fine. Now the program CTD on final when using an instrument procedure (Rnav or ILS). I just started trying instrument approaches so I am not sure if this bug has always been there. I have only tried it with the G-36 and the C172. I use the G-36 improvement project aircraft, and the G1000 v3.4. No other addons. Most sliders set to high or med. I get about 30 to 4…

I have an i7 7770k @ 4.9 on all cores HT on. 1080ti, 16g of DDD4, running off an SSD, at 1440p I was getting kind of crippling stutters where my all my cores on the CPU would go to a 100% and everything was worthless. I could still enjoy the experience somewhat, but it was really annoying. It was kind of like XEnviro loading in clouds and everything shutting down for a second. Really took you out of the sim. I have many flight related files in my "LocalState" folder (Store) that I no longer use. The ".flt" files of ones I deleted within the Sim are gone, but their related files are still there. I like to keep things lean, thus I want to delete all unused ones. I'm cautious about messing around in MSFS folders, so thought I would check here first. Is it okay to delete these via Explorer? I didn't fly the A320 for long, so I downloaded the latest version of the FBW mod (version 0.5.2) and started MSFS. I downloaded and installed the standard version, from the MS Store, onto a newly purchased 1TB SSD hard drive I bought just for this. I open the program in the start menu. I allow the MS Store Package Dependency Installer to make changes. Now it crawls at a snails pace. I get the warning that my system does not meet requirements and there may be errors. OK it. I get the X Box, OSOBO , Blacksnake and copyright windows. Get up to Welcome Set Your Experience. In a sub window, it checks for updates. This is where it happens.
