Sorry everyone, another monitor question, but this time with an upper cap of $600 CDN = $480 US = 340 GBP. I currently have an old BenQ 1080p 60hz 27 inch VA monitor, which for all it's low rez, I really like for it's the colour accuracy and deep blacks, but I would like to get something bigger. However, space is limited to a 32 inch 9:16 monitor. My current uses are P3Dv4.5, Trainsim 2021, and various RPG games. I don't do photo or video editing, or racing other fast paced games, so high refresh rates aren't required. My system is fairly new with a 10700K @ 4.9 ghz, RTX 2070 Super, and 32 gb DDR4 3600 mhz ram. I think a 32 inch 4k 60 hz monitor would be i…

  3. First of all, I'd like to say that I'm aware of my limited configuration (due to limited budget) and I do not expect high-settings. Although I'd love to have a great visual experience with high-level of reality and high details, I'll be fine with moderate or even low settings, as I mainly intend to practice procedures. Since I've read many posts that actually caused me even more dilemmas (some say that FSX is mostly CPU intensive, others that it works much better with Nvidia than AMD cards and finally that multiple monitors require considerably more VRAM) I'd like to ask for some help with choosing the best -matching GPU for the following configuration: Configuratio…

I would pair it with a 5600X. I have the CPU, now waiting for a 3060ti to drop. Does it sound feasible in 1440p? Youtube videos make it look like you get a stable 40-45 FPS average in that resolution.

  5. I have a question concerning the Nvidia audio driver and the Realteck audio driver. I've noticed that when I download and install a graphics driver from Nvidia, it also comes with the Nvidia audio driver, and I never understood why an audio driver would come with a graphics driver download. I already have the Realteck audio driver on my computer. So, my question is that will these 2 audio drivers cause a conflict? Or is the Nvidia audio dirver a separate audio driver that has nothing to do with how Realteck works? I was wondering if I need only one or the other. Ken.

Not looking for troubleshooting advice at this point, just an idea of whether I might have drawn the short straw this time around... I bought a premade system with a Core i9-10900K and an RTX 3080 (PC manufacturer's design). The system began to restart randomly after about a week of use when running P3D. It steadily got worse. When the manufacturer tested it, the GPU results came back abnormal and they authorized replacement. Still waiting on that replacement. Meanwhile, I bought a different premade system with a Ryzen 7 5800x and a PNY 3080. After about the same length of time, it started to do the same thing. Following advice on some forums, I replaced the Nvi…

Greetings, I am considering an upgrade from NV GTX 980 4GB and would appreciate any recommendations. Samsung 49 inch CRG9 Monitor. Primary is X-Plane 11; secondary P3Dv4.5. Would like to plan for MSFS 2020 sometime in the future. Additional specs: 1.) Intel Core i7 6700K 4.00 GHz Unlocked Quad Core Skylake Desktop Processor. 2.) RAM: 16GB Kit (8GBx2) DDR4 2400 MT. 3.) MSI Gaming Intel Z170A LGA 1151 DDR4 USB 3.1 ATX Motherboard (Z170A Gaming M7). 4.) NZXT Kraken X62 All-in-One CPU Liquid Cooling System. 5.) Windows 10/64 Pro. Many thanks.

I'm using a Jetline computer system (Intel 8th Gen Core i7 8700K - 4.8GHz 32GB Corsair DDR4 SDRAM 3000MHz with 850 Watt Corsair RM Power Supply) built for simming about 2 years ago, and I have a current LG 4K 32" monitor. My Graphics card is an Nvidia 1080ti. My primarily used sim is P3dv5. I do use MSFS but less frequently. My questions are these: Is there really a difference when it comes to performance whether I use a Display Port or HDMI cable connection? Are there any significant differences in brands or performance of either type of the cables themselves? Does it MATTER which DP input or HDMI (never mind. Only 1 HDMI on back of card) input…

  9. Just recently installed MSFS which amazes me. I have a 10700K cpu and a 1080 Ti graphics card. Currently I have a 5 year old BenQ 60hz monitor. Am trying to decide if a 144hz new monitor is worth looking. Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated.

  10. Hello, Is anyone familiar with this type of monitor?? Considering either the 32" or the 27" due to lack of space. I have an old Samsung 27" 1920x1080 now and like to get something better and I do like Samsung stuff. At the moment I only have the EVGA 1070SC 8 GB card which I will upgrade if and when 30 series cards are available. https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/samsung-odyssey-g7 Any opinions?? Thanks

I am looking to move into the 4K world for my main screen for P3D v5. Right now my main display for P3D v5 is on a BenQ 2560x1440 with 2 other monitors, 1 27 in 2560x1440 and 1 1920x1080 for cruising internet and weather, Navigraph, vpilot STKP, etc ). I see the BenQ PD3200U is recommended by several people. Is this still the way to go? I will be running the 2 27" BenQ just for weather, maps etc. So should I go for it? Would I be happy with the difference from 2560x1440 to 3840x2160? My specs are: Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-9900K CPU @ 3.60GHz, 3600 Mhz, 8 Core(s), 16 Logical Processor(s) GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080ti 32GB RAM …

Hi guys. For my home cockpit, I use P3D on a I7 PC with a Geforce RTX 2080 ti graphics card. I use a HDMI splitter to split the image between my desktop monitor and an OPTOMA projector. I hadn’t updated my graphics card driver for quite some time until recently. I’ll describe what used to happen before and then after the update: BEFORE: I’ve always turned up the PC with the Optoma projector turned off. I would set up everything I needed to fly using the desktop monitor, and when everything was ready, I would turn on the projector. The image on the desktop would blink for 2 seconds and when it came back, it was much better, with very vivid colors, much better for…

Anyone on here done it? What's your experience like? On Youtube I've read you can reduce power draw by up to 100W with no noticeable Performance hit, but as we all know MSFS isn't standard fare when it comes to behavior so any data points would be welcome. Also asking because my new PSU is borderline for my rig (600W for Ryzen 5600x & 3070) Thanks

Hi I have a 10 year old computer, i5 3.2ghz, Nvidia 1060 6GB graphics card and 16mb ram and I am running FS2020 on a 10 year old 42 inch Panasonic tv, I cant afford a new graphics card ( the newer ones are just mega bucks) FS2020 runs pretty well considering my ageing computer but I am thinking of getting a new monitor, prefably a curved one and smaller than 42 inch, would I get better frame rates, would I visually see a difference from the flightdeck?? what monitor would you reccomend if I was to get one?? any help would be appreciated........dont want to be spending a lot though, maybe £ 350 pounds max?? Hi all, I hope this is the right forum (if not, please advice). I would like to know your opinions about these possible configurations for 3 monitors on FSX (I flight GA, but I dont think that matters here): (1) single view from FSX stretched across the 3 monitors (using NVidia surround mode) AND using TrackIR to pan around (2) single view from FSX stretched across the 3 monitors (using NVidia surround mode) BUT without TrackIR (3) one separate view from FSX (front, right side and left side) on each monitor, and no TrackIR The goal is to achieve maximum realism (as if I am actually siting in the plane cockpit) and not necessarily to optimize visua…

  18. I was able to snag a 3070 FE yesterday for retail price! Missed the 3080 by a few seconds 😞 I was wondering for those of you with RTX 3000 cards whether there's a noticable difference in FPS & smoothness between FE cards & custom ones? Talking about MSFS exclusively. Thanks

Hi, after hours and hours workflow(Full 737 cockpit with shell, Prosim737), I‘m sad about my result and I don‘t know how to fix it. I built a 200-degree curved screen (I think accurate :-)) and use 3 3LCD - Projectors (2800 lumens, 10.000:1 contrast, real 1080p) with immersive display. The screen has a length about 6,60m x 1,60m, and the projectors have about 1,65 m distance to the screen. In the projector-settings, I use standard-values. Results: - The basic colors of the 3 projectors are different. Of course, I can adjust a little bit by immersive calibration, but you can clearly see crossings between the projectors. - The picture …

Hi, I am wondering if the computer monitor matters for flightsimming? Would I gain a siginificant performance increase by using a 144Hz oder 165Hz monitor? The thing is, I use a monitor for photo editing and in the future video editing. So for photo editing it's quite important that I can calibrate that thing. Right know I have an old NEC with 60Hz. It's still does it's job, however I am wondering if it might be a bottle neck? I think for video editing it's not a bad idea to have two monitors. So could be a compromise to buy one that you can calibrate and other one for gaming? How could that look like? What are good monitors for that?

I currently have a Dell U3415W 3440x1440 display. Based on the specs below, would I see any benefits to switching to a ultrawide 4K display or would my PC specs/GPU not be powerful enough to see the benefits? If so, any recommendations that I can look into that would be a step up from my current display?

  23. For the past many years, we've had (5) windowed displays in FS2004 providing our outside windows views in our simulator. (2) individual Matrox Triplehead2go boxes ran all these displays off of (1) super computer. The first Triplehead ran the (3) front views. The second Triplehead ran the (2) side displays. Worked Great!!! That said, In January of this year 2021, we decided to remove the (3) front displays (including the Triplehead) and replace it with a Samsung 49" CHG so as to remove the unsightly bezels. The front display looks great. THE PROBLEM: We cannot get the front display to blend with the side displays. Nothing close after many attempts. I have prov…

  24. Hi all, I am on a mission to replace my five year old Samsung S27F350 1080P plugged into a EVGA 1070SC 8GB Card. Anybody using this monitor ? ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQ 27” G-SYNC Gaming Monitor 165Hz 1440p. Would my 1070 Card be adequate to run this one until I find a replacement car??? Any other monitors you could recommend for me, not easy to find the right screen these days. I am using MSFS2020 latest release, do not play other games at all just FS. Than…

I am configuring a new system for MSFS and have read a lot of good reports on this card (particularly the MSI Gaming version). Although I wiil be initially running at 1080p, I am thinking ahead and wonder how the card would perform at 1440p. I will likely pair it with an i5 10600 CPU. Can anybody share their experience? Related probably stupid question: would I be better off at 1080p on high settings or 1440p on medium? Thanks, Ph
