While choosing the components to my new pc, which only needs the new monitor, I was searching a new technique (?) called VR. What are the differences to see the monitor from those glasses or to see the ir with our own eyes? Do we still need the monitor itself? I am new to this technique. I would like to have some explanations, or at least where to find some information from the beginning.

Hi I decided to open another topic and to start discussion from the beginning. I am having some problems to choose a monitor for MSFS. I had a lot of statements and it is getting really confused until now. HDR, HRR, VRR, G-Sync, G-Sync adapt, G-Sync compatible... and endless discussions which makes this process very confusing... First, the specs and the needs: 1. I have i9-10900K with Asus ROG Strix RTX 3090 OC 24GB 2. I would like to run MSFS in a 2K resolution (2560x1440). I would like to know if the following options are good for MSFS, and if not, why: https://www.asus.com/Displays-Desktops/Monitors/TUF-Gaming/TUF-…

Now that AMD have announced their new GPUs, which tech is better, gsync or freesync (specifically for MSFS 2020). Or are both good? I ask because the Samsung Q80T only has Freesync, while the LG CX has both.

I am in the market for a monitor to replace a very old 18.5 inch 16:9 1366 x 768 pixel screen, however since I really don't care for larger monitors (the 18.5 is too small obviously though), I am looking at a 24 inch screen since that seems to be the decent entry level for where "proper" gaming monitors begin. Since the one thing that has annoyed me to this point is LCD motion blur (and any artifacts that may arise from that or from mitigating firmware algorithms found within monitors), I found this motion blur test interesting (link at bottom). Since as a simmer, however, consistently high frame rates are simply not possible, I am more interested in how monitor…

I have a 2K 32" monitor and a1080ti and emulate 4K thru the NVIDIA Control Panel. Would there be any performance difference if I switched to a 4K monitor of the same size and no emulating?

My 3080 has a boost clock speed of 1800MHz so why does it jump and stay at 2025MHz is this way to high? Whats wrong here? Here its down to "normal" speed1770.0MHz when under little load? Also why does afterburner say MEM 9501Mhz but it looks like it 1187.7 in GPUZ? Thank you.

I want to buy a curved monitor but not willing to go ultrawide yet as I would be using the monitor for other activities (work, movies), my assumption based on what I saw is that they are nearly identical in terms of image quality at 1440p but the G5 is over half the price. Can anyone who knows these two monitors tell me whether there's a substantial difference? I would be using it for MSFS. Not at all interested in 240Hz, even 144Hz seems overkill as I don't play FPS. Thanks

Hi, I am starting a new computer. I already have the videocard, the Asus ROG Strix RTX 3090 OC 24GB. It read somewhere that I cannot use use Freesync monitors with this videocard. Is this true? And to use MSFS with 4K do I need a monitor with resolution 3840x2160 and can I fly with a lower resolution, such as 2560x1440? Do I also need a refresh rate range of 144 Hz? And TN, IPS or VA?

I am having trouble with a monitor on extended display that is shifted onto the other monitor. I have a home cockpit and the displays are built in the frame so not a typical stand-alone monitor setup. They are set up as "extended display". Not sure how this happened, but now the right monitor is shifted about a third of the way onto the left monitor.` I have tried Windows Control Panel and NVIDIA Control Panel but nothing I can find resolves it. I think typical monitors have a menu and buttons on the monitor itself to adjust such an issue but these are flat panel screens that are mounted. Whatever I did, had to come from one of these two control panels. The…

I posted a topic similar to this a while back, but im now working on a new build . I currently have a 1080ti card and im using a asus pb278 monitor at 2560x1440 it may just be my eyes ,but the stock virtual cockpits and gauges are never really clear to me ( things like the f1 gtn750 are perfect when undocked) over the years i have tried endless setting combinations and cannot get super clarity in the vc cockpit. I wish i could say that it is one developer over another because some are in fact better than others But im still struggling.. so the question is if you were building from scratch and used p3d v5.1 and xplane 11 in vc mode then what w…

Hi, I would like to know if the less expensive one, RTX 3070, is much worse than the others concerning the price. At this moment it is impossible to find RTX 3080 and 6800 XT, since both oth are not available in almost any country. I would like to run MSF2020 with detailed addons like sceneries, aircrafts, full AI traffic, weather, and so on with at least 25 fps. harpsi

Alright guys, Got a GTX 1060 6gb installed atm, might switch to a used GTX 1080 8gb, would I see like 10-15fps increase? I plan to leave settings the same. CPU: i5 8600k 5ghz, delided, water cooled RAM: 16GB DDR4 (8x2) Storage: p3d V4.5 on my HHD, really cba to put it on a ssd, hardly do alot of simming nowdays anyway, got fed up with low fps and poor graphics, cba to install everything on v5/get xp12/mfs2020. Running at 60Hz on a 1080p monitor. Hate locking it at 30, looks all werid and not crisp. Any input would be appreciated. Cheers ols.

Hello everyone, I need your 2 cents, had a Asus Rog PG348Q for a few years now, and of late been thinking going on full 4K. After reading a dozen or so posts here my choice is Benq PD3200U. Is it worth it? Be blunt and honest, also if you have something else to recommend please do. Thnx, Ivan

I received a BENQ GW2280 from a family member who now just uses a laptop only. It is a very lightly used albeit obsolete 22 incher that was only used for very occasional web surfing. But I am noticing something a little odd with the way colours are rendered in games on the edges or surfaces of some objects but only when I am panning around very quickly. I cannot provide a screenshot or even a video (do not own a camera) since it is obviously only the monitor doing it - I verified this by testing two other monitors and the problem did not exist in either of them). But the bottom line is I have 100% eliminated the graphics card, computer itself, software, drivers, colo…

I need some advice: I was lucky enough to be able to buy an AMD 6900 XT as well as a RTX 380 Founders Edition at MSRP. Now, I have to decide which one to keep. Here are my current thoughts: Pro 6900 XT: The card has more VRAM and if Microsoft optimizes MSFS for XBox, the Radeon could benefit. In general, Radeons tend to age quite well and the card is really well build and silent. Pro RTX 3080: It is cheaper, performs the same in MSFS like to the 6900 XT (I play in 4K) and it is much faster in Ray Tracing, which is nice in other games. And it looks really nice. All in all, it is better value for money. If they had the same VRAM, I would certainly keep the 30…

I am kicking around upgrading my Vega 64 to the 6700XT, mainly for the 12gig of video ram vs 8gig. I am upgrading from the 2700x cpu to a 5800x when the chip arrives in the next couple of days. Right now, with the 2700x and the Vega I am seeing around 85-90% usage of video ram, sometimes even higher. CPU and GPU are fairly balanced. With the 5800x that is going to be way more GPU limited. I run MSFS in 1440P with a mix of High and Ultra with good results. I am also not looking to go over $1,000.00 to upgrade. I can get the 6700 for around $900.00 while it looks like I can sell the Vega for around $500.00. Just asking what you guys think, is it worth it?

Since now I have a desk, chair, keyboard, mouse and monitor, I'm now considering to get a new computer and (finally) stop simming in a laptop. However, with those insane GPU prices, I can´t afford anything higher than a GTX 1650 right now ($450 here). A brand new 2060 is at least $1300 here, while a 1660 is $1000 minimum. I don't ask for newer/more powerful GPUs, I want to keep my sanity. My idea is to use my rig for P3D4 (with no add-on airports, just Orbx Global + Vector + LC + Terra Flora + Buildings (downsampled to 1024 or 512 if needed), GSX and ActiveSky), and maybe FSX-SE (for some planes not available in P3D4). For reference, my monitor is 1920 x 1080, and I'…

Hello,I currently have 2 1080p 60Hz monitors in a dual monitor setup and it works very well. It is very easy to move from one monitor to the other and there are no issues whatsoever.I am now thinking of getting a new monitor and going down the 1440p route. Is it possible to have a dual monitor set up with a 1440p 60Hz monitor and a 1080p 60Hz monitor? Will it work OK given the monitors have different resolutions? The plan is to have the 1440p monitor display P3D or MSFS Full Screen and the 1080p monitor display other addons like VPilot or the Aivlasoft EFB, PDF documents, chat, OBS, Discord, etc... I am NOT looking at extending the sim display on both monitors at the same …
