Which Video card would give me the best bang for the dollar on my MSI MPG Z490 with an I7 10700 CPU and 32GB RAM, in order to run MSFS20? Would an EVGA RTX3060TI be good enough, or should I hold out for something better when prices come back down?

Hello, It's been quite a while since I bought a new system. The computer is generally running well and MSFS is performing adequately... 3840x210 rendered to 2688x1512, LOD at 110 and the majority of settings on medium or high. I'm routinely getting 30fps (locked) in the FBW, but there are a few manageable stutters every so often. It's worth noting that I am happy with my system and MSFS's performance... All that said, if I wanted to crank up the resolution and details to higher levels, what would be a good upgrade to the GPU? My knowledge in this area is lacking. If I suddenly got a 3080Ti, what would that actually achieve for me? Does a 3080Ti provide a 4K exp…

I am looking to bump up my memory and upgrade my GPU for MSFS 2020. Based on my specs below, what are some suggestions that I could do in order to see a noticeable performance/visual upgrade? I'm using UN55NU6900 and I'd like to find someone else who can corroborate my finding. I've got P3D and MSFS setup in an odd way which relies on this display to work but it's giving the best flight sim results I've ever seen in 30 years of simming.

I've had my 1060 for almost 7 years now and it's really showing it's age. Used to have and average of 20 to 30fps with it, despite it being a 3gb variant, but it is starting to show it's age. Now I've been saving up money for a complete new setup but I need to replace my current gpu with urgency for reasons aside of p3d. So I've been looking for a new gpu, but I'm a bit on a budget. I've seen people using P3Dv4 and v5 with a 1600 series card and getting 30+ pretty busy areas on medium settings. But I've also seen people using a 2000 series and 3000 series and having 30+ fps om medium to high setting. My question is, which gpu do you use and can you recommend it f…

So I have an LG 55" as my main monitor, and am using a second connection for my MCDU from Skalarki. Main Monitor is #2, and MCDU (small screen) is monitor 1, and I also did the extend the displays as required. All works fine with the software when flying so no worries there. Mayhem shows up as follows: I connect power when I intend to use the second "tiny" screen, and turn it off when I am done. Some or most (depending on w11's mood?) of my files and shortcuts go to the small screen, and I have to "coerce" them back onto my main display even (harder) when second monitor is off, and on some occasions P3D starts up normal, only to find it load the…

Hi, Title says it all. I'm looking for a larger monitor/TV for MSFS. What features should I be looking for? 55" seems to be the most popular size, but I can go smaller. Still, I definitely want to go larger than my current 32" monitor. BTW, I'll probably upgrade my video card in the near future. Thanks!

Hi folks, Im looking at adding hardware to my sim setup, in this case a gps unit. The unit I’m looking at requires me to plug into hdmi port however I already have my monitor plugged in. My potential solution is to get a usb to hdmi adapter, I’m just curious if anyones used such an adapter and how exactly it works? How can a USB port have video capabilities without being plugged into the gpu?

My set up is as follows: Cpu is i7 9700k / Graphics card is RTX 3070 / Monitor is Acer 27" with 1920x1080 resolution / Using P3D v4.5 HF3 I would like to purchase a 2K monitor. My questions are - is it going to be worth the bucks? / will I see a noticable difference in clarity and sharpness to warrant the bucks spent? Trevor

New Asus VP279 not working correctly with FSX, but works with "most" other games. Asus monitor driver in use. -FSX starts ok. -When starting a flight screen goes dim, and requires monitor reset. -Same issue with all other FSX sub-menus, including exiting FSX. -Same issue with Nvidia control panel. Thanks for any tips.

I am using a i9-10850k and RTX 3090. What would happen when I upgrade from 24" 1080p to 32" 4K in regard to temperatures? Right now I have average CPU temps in MSFS about 55-60°C and GPU reaching about 90°C. Would it make sense to upgrade in regard to temps? I have a feeling that my temps could reach the 100°C mark or even more. And even that is too hot for me, since the noise all the heat creates.

Maybe my problem is very specific but it took me a while to figure this out, hope it helps you. I found a lot of videos on sweet sim setups, air manager videos, etc. but what I struggled with the most was the following, here is my setup: Nvidia 2080 card which has 3 Display ports, 1 HDMI port and 1 USB-C port. My onboard GPU connections (HDMI, USB-C) don't work because my CPU doesn't support on board graphics (intel i7-kf model). The problem is that if you want to setup two touchscreen monitors, you can't do that because they must be connected via USB-C so I went round and round trying to look at hubs of all kind, a PCIe card with USB-C ports and so on. None of …

Hello, I'm planning to get this one to use it a second monitor for LittleNavMap and FSL MCDU. It has USB-C connection and my 2080Ti Supports it accordingly. Just wondering if there are any precautions, problems, stability issues, additional software considerations required. https://www.microcenter.com/product/624020/asus-rog-strix-xg17ahp-173-full-hd-(1920-x-1080)-240hz-gaming-monitor Would appreciate your help.

Started to lurk in this forum and it's my first post. A quick background - I have used FSX and previous versions of Flight Simulator going back to running on intel 8088 with a keyboard (we've come a long way). I am also a private pilot (not current). I have never gotten deeply involved and therefore majority of my setups in the past have been on a laptop (with a joystick), on a PC with cheap yokes and rudders. I want to build my first SIM and have been watching YT videos and read whatever I can. Nice to meet you all. Most graphics cards I am seeing have 4 outputs and my basic question is that if I want three monitors for displays and two for cockpit displays (ex. G10…

So I just purchased a 3080ti and I’m currently using a 1440p gaming monitor. Is a 3080ti good enough to run MSFS in 4K? Is it worth buy a 4K monitor if I’m already using 1440p? Will I noticed a big difference? I plan on purchasing a monitor over a TV because I do play some FPS games and I love Gsync and 144hz. Thanks.

Hey, I am close to my decision to buy a new graphic card. I know the prices are high... but I am still on a 1080, which performs great but I get some christmas bonus from my company and I decide to spend the money for a new graphic card. My preference is an Asus 3080 TI ROG but I am struggeling between this card and a Zotac Gaming GeForce RTX 3090 AMP Extreme Holo. The main question for me is, are 12GB VRAM enough to ran the sim smooth and without any "out of vram" issues with 2K/4K Resolution. I am currently running my Sim also on really high settings and also on 2K texture resolution and in some scenarios I am close to an OOvM. The question is…

Ok so i soughta understand what is going on. If i choose upscaling and get into a game and choose the resolution, for me at 2560x1440p at 85% its 2176x1224. So my understanding is that it renders the image at the later res and converts it to my native res. But the weird thing i have found is that yeah it does work, but all the menus are what appears to be rendered at the upscaling res 2176x1224, so the dont look what the would if they were at 2560x1440p. Am i doing something wrong, or is this the way it does it? Regrards

So I had this pc for about 2 years and for the past 5 months it has been giving me problems when playing games with high graphic settings. Here is the problem description: The monitor would lose signal, and GPU fans would spin at their max speed. The pc does not turn off, I can still hear people talking on Discord but can't do anything which forced me to fully shut down the pc by holding the power button. I thought this was an issue with PSU so I ordered a new one but the issue still occurred. My PC specs are as follows: -GPU: Asus Strix vega56 -CPU: Ryzen 3600 non-x -MB: Tomahawk b450 non-x -Ram: 16gb corsair (2x8) 3200mhz -PSU: Seasonic focus px-750 pl…

Hi all. I have just switched to P3Dv5 fra v4, in a full cockpit environment with 3 x 30 hz projectors and one instructors monitor (running 60 hz). In v4 I had no problem with keeping 30 FPS by selecting VSYNC on and unlimited FPS. But doing the same in v5 makes it just what to me looks like between 30 to 45 and back, making everything stutter. Anyone have any suggestions? I have the main P3D view in my instructors station, with "Panel Only" option, blanking this view out, and then 3 views spanning across the three projectors using viewgroups. The instructors station monitor is not able to run 30 hz, so I am thinking if that would be the problem, that P3D somehow also t…
