  1. Hey guys! I decided to pull the trigger before inflation and shipping problems start driving the prices through the roof again. My specs are listed below and I fly GA into smaller airports so my needs are not as high as many others. I have been running on the 1080 TI for some time now and it was very smooth for me. With the New 3080 TI the scenery is very jerky during taxi as well as in the air. I also get the same results when panning around. This occurs with the same settings that I have used with the 1080 TI for a year or two now. I run at 30 FPS with vsync on and triple buffering target frame rate unlocked just as before changing GPU. Here are the things t…

  3. Hi, I recently upgraded to a Sony 55" OLED display and have encountered some issues since updating to Windows 11. Prior to installing Windows 11 the display worked fine and I was enjoying the richness of the display qualities. The TV was not even recognized at first even though nothing had been changed in the settings, then finally a little progress was made but the graphics were distorted and multiple images of the same picture were displayed albeit in hues of pink, purple and blue. I purchased a certified 48" long HDMI cable and I managed to get the display to work after changing from one HDMI port to another. The main issue now is that I cannot updat…

  4. Amazon sent me the WRONG Gigabyte monitor. They sent me the M32UC (4k - 165hz monitor - $600 monitor), even though I ordered a $300 (G32QC A) 1440p monitor. I kept wondering why Windows was telling me the monitor was 4k and WHY did Windows think I had a M32UC. I thought the monitor just supported a non-native 4k input, but nah they shipped me the wrong monitor. THAT IS WHY I COULDN'T TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 4k and 1440p. I was comparing 4k to 4k, because Amazon shipped me the wrong monitor!

Just got a LG 55UQ80 and all I can say is stunning. Been using a 32 Spectre curve and it was good but with HDR on with the LG is ridiculous. Taxi is now fun again with no studders.

Nothing seems a huge surprise. The top cards (less powerful) seem to run 4K at way lower than 1/2 of 1080p. The bottom cards (better cards) there is less of penalty for moving to higher resolutions. ......................FPS............................ Haven't simmed really since the MSFS beta. Busy with real-life flying. Kind of have the itch again. My system is definitely derelict on the GPU side with a GTX 970. And my CPU is a now getting old with a 8600K at 4.8Ghz. Obviously, the GPU has to be upgraded. Is the CPU decent enough to put off for a while? As to the GPU, don't want to break the bank, so the highest I can get with Nvidia is a 3070. Highest with AMD is an RX 6800. Kind of worried about the Nvidia only having 8GB of memory, but do AMD cards work well with MSFS?

Anyone tried this with any flight simulators? In almost every respect this sounds like a great gaming monitor, and the black handling could be what I've always wanted for night flying. Just one small thing occurred to me, text clarity can be an issue according to some reviews (albeit focussed to an office environment). I wondererd if flight instruments might prove harder to read? (PS I'd almost certainly buy this anyway, expect for the fact that even if I ordered it today Dell can't deliver to me in the UK before October)

I am in the process of shopping for a new monitor, and any input would be appreciated. I currently have an RTX2060, will run about 45fps at 2560x1440 at high settings. I plan on a new monitor now and a new card maybe in a year. I don't know if I should go with gsync or freesync. I think I have narrowed down to either the LG 34GP950G-B or the LG 34GP83A-B. So is gync worth the extra $$ over freesync? Since I plan on getting a new card anyway are they comparable? and is gsync compatible as good as gsync? I don't want to buy another monitor for 5 years, and all these choices are overwhelming. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you

  15. I'm looking for highest settings WITH texture mod packs AND high full screen anti-aliasing applied. Is 10-12 Gig really enough nowadays? I've been trying to find web articles on this but they all seem to test only with the base game and available settings, not with forced nVidia inspector settings for example.

  16. Everywhere I go on the net the big story of the last 2 months is the tanking of bitcoin and other eMonies. To make a profit (run up the returns on lightening quick transactions) people bought a whole bank of vid cards and ran them datamining. Here's a popular chain store USA site selling gpu cards, notice someone posted a picture along with his review: a bank of cards set up to data mine. He's reviewing the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti . His picture clearly shows his banks of identical gpus https://www.bestbuy.com/site/pny-nvidia-geforce-rtx-3060-ti-8gb-xlr8-gddr6-pci-express-4-0-gaming-graphics-card-with-dual-fan-black/6502682.p?skuId=6502682 …

Decided to grab the 6800 (not XT) due to the current price and given how much extra VRAM it has. The XT was a little faster, but this is plenty as the performance is on par with the 3070 and even higher in some games. Arrives on Sunday, is there a good reference posted by anyone for settings like how there was with NVIDIA drivers.

Good day Chaps. Reaching out to you all who are a lot more clever than I to ask if upgrading to a EVGA 3080 TI FTW will be a noticeable upgrade from my current 2070? Thanks for your input in advance.

Three or four graphics cards (EDIT video cards) that I had my eye on at Amazon, all jumped up sky high last week. In two big jumps a few days apart. Now they are all back down even cheaper than when they started. I have no idea for the strange behavior of Amazon's automatic price fluctuations. I mean this was not just one CPU but about 4 that I was watching, they all did the same thing. Looking at the charts they seem to jump way up high and then go down the stairs in price. It happens over and over... https://camelcamelcamel.com/product/B08166SLDF

  20. Hi all, I'm running a 3070ti which states max width 7680 pixels. That would equate to 3 x 1440p monitors, ie 2560x1440 So my question is: Is it possible to get 3 x 3440 x 1440 to run - ie 10,320 wide ? I have 2 x ultrawide curved 34in running @ 3440 but the centre bezel is annoying so was thinking of getting a 3rd one. However I'm not sure I can push 3 of these right up to 3440x1440 The ones I have are https://www.lg.com/au/it-monitors/lg-34wp65c-b Thanks or am I right off base here? Don;t get me wrong, even running a single one of these has been awesome. Max.

…. So, I have finally pulled the trigger and purchased a new rig for MSFS with PMDG and ORBX add-ons. A Ryzen 7 5800x3d, Nvidia RTX 3090… with Corsair 32gb vengeance ram on an Asus ROG crosshair VIII Hero. A dedicated Samsung 2TB ssd for MSFS alone. Hoping to move my dials to ultra after 2 years of Ryzen 7 5200 and Nvidia 1080ti with 16gb ram…. Looking for recommendations on a solid monitor to pair with this rig….

Hi, can someone tell me if you can split your 49" monitor when flying in MSFS in a way that you have 2/3 of it for msfs and remaining 1/3 for other stuff, like internet, vpilot etc? Has someone such a setup and get post a screenshot/photo? If you have an 49", which GPU are you using and what temperatures are you getting?
