I have a 10700k, 32 gig of RAM and a 1070. Process Lasso is set to high performance. I did baseline and everything seems to be ok. If I increase sliders from 100 to 125 / 150, I get stutters around NYC. FS2020 says I am limited by cpu, but really isn't it the 1070? I had been considering getting a new card.

Hi Guys Belated Happy new year to everyone. As a long term FSX user (yep there are sitll some us about 😉) and also a increasingly frequent user of P3D v4.5 i am looking forward to what V6 brings. The only possible concern i do have is my graphics card as I am currenly running a 2080 8GB one a single screen at 1920x1080. This is plenty for my current sims. I only started using P3D fairly recently after purchasing V4 when that was the current version so I didn't upgrade to V5. I don't have spare pennies for a new graphics card so do you think 8GB Vram will be enough? Cheers Daz

And by that I mean the amount of VRAM 24(20) vs 16 for 4800. Over at the Flight1 hardware forum Nick has advised me that size of VRAM is important for flight sims and I also think he advised us to get a videocard with 24 Gb VRAM for MSFS. So advantage AMD more VRAM lower price and advantage for NVIDIA 4080 raytracing and DLSS. Which is best for MSFS DCS XP P3D5 ?

Hi guys, want to upgrade my dear "MSI 3090 Gaming X Trio" to a RTX 4090, was thinking to stay with MSI and go for the "MSI 4090 Gaming X Trio" or the "Suprim X". The 3090 I have has nearly no coil whine (or at least it can't be heard when the case is closed) so was hoping the new (4090) generation of MSI cards are similar regarding this issue .... Can anyone with a 4090 (not just MSI) please report how their card performs regarding this issue, thanks! PS: I know not every card is the same regading noise levels and it can be like a lottery to get on that is (very) quiet ...

Hey guys, So I recently got another 2K monitor and I already have one 2K monitor. When I go full screen in p3d on my new one my old one doesn’t stay native 1440p and drops in resolution, any ideas how to fix this? Both are 1440p same resolution monitors.

I am going back to "Green" with a new 4080. I think the last nVidia card I had was an 8800 GTX so it has been some time since I had to wonder what to do with a driver and I have a couple of questions. I have downloaded the latest WHQL game Ready driver. Is that the best one to use? Also, I see it has an option to iinstall Geforce Experience. Is this needed and does it cause any issues? I seem to remember reading about some issues with it and MSFS in the past.

Will be interesting to see what the performance is. Pricing is $899 for the 7900xt and $999 for the xtx. See https://www.tomshardware.com/news/amd-rdna-3-and-radeon-rx-7900-xtx-xt-revealed

Am getting close to pulling the trigger on a new video card. Currently have an 8 gig 2080 that I've had for almost 4 years.. The manager at my computer store i've known for years suggested a 7900XT as they currently have decent pricing on them compared to a 4080 plus physically they will fit in my current case where a 4080 will not. I'd prefer to get a XTX but they are scarce and he has an XT. Just wondering if anyone running a 7900 could pass along their thoughts how it works with MSFS, XP & P3d. Thanks for any responses.

FYI, Best Buy just dropped both the 4090 and 4080 Founders Edition today. The 4090's sold out but the 4080's are still in stock for those still looking for one. I was able to grab a 4090.

Currently I’m using my a Sony 43in X800D 4K@60hz TV and a Nvidia 3090. I was able to obtain a 4090 and now I want to look at a TV with a higher refresh rate. I see some are using the older C1. Is anyone using a C2 and if so how do you like it? From all the reviews it looks positive. I did read that some older video cards are unable to support the 120mhz and there was talk about the auto dimming. If someone could go into more detail on their C2 usage and the auto dimming I would appreciate it.

Do you think the RTX 4090 is imposing? Wait till you see the Gigabyte/AORUS troll! 😅 https://twitter.com/AorusOfficial/status/1604598905580273669?cxt=HHwWioC-4f-M18QsAAAA

The RX 7900 series find themselves competitive against RTX 4080 in all tests. The flagship XTX model also offers up to 29% better performance than RX 6950XT that launched at a higher price ($1099) just a half a year ago. Unfortunately, RX 7900 series are unable to compete with RTX 4090 in those tests. https://videocardz.com/newz/first-amd-radeon-rx-7900-xtx-7900-xt-3dmark-timespy-firestrikes-scores-are-in

My system specs are in the signature. My relevant personal specs are: senior (OK, kinda old), decent vision around 20/20, and totally OK with my current HD monitor operating at 1/2 refresh rate = 30 fps. My system has enough power to reach 40-50 Hz at mostly ultra settings, but I prefer the stutter-free liquidity locked at 30. MSFS V-sync works well on my current monitor which is an ASUS unit mainly used for photography; there's minimal tearing when I scan horizontally across the scene out of the cockpit. I have space for a monitor under 30 inches, so no 50 in tv screens. I think I would be totally satisfied with 2K resolution, but there's this nice 4K screen at ava…

If using frame generation with a 4090/4080… - Are you locking FPS to keep it at or below your display refresh rate? I recall reading it’s ideal to keep FPS at like 118 on a 120Hz display. I’m not currently using this. - Or are you using v-sync? I understand v-sync eliminates tearing if FPS > refresh rate… true? I’m currently using NV CP set to Fast - not sure if that’s ideal. - Are you using G-Sync on an OLED? Any flicker in dark scenes? It seems frame generation keeps the FPS high enough to mitigate OLED flicker. - Are you running 4K? If so what TLOD? I can run 4K LOD 400 and still have 60-90FPS (after FG) although LOD 200 or even 300 is less CPU …

Anybody have any thoughts on going this path? Want frame generation. Also appears to be slight upgrade. Though I’m wondering if stepping down in vram would be a negative hit for me. Run in 4k. Interested in thoughts thanks

Hi All, I just picked up a 55 inch LG QNED85 Mini Led TV that has VRR, it is not showing as a "Gsync Compatible" TV but when turned on in the TV's Game Optimizer screen it does show as Nvidia Gsync. It does also have AMD Freesync Premium. I have set everything up and enabled the Gsync display overlay which I see in the sim which tells me Gsync is working, what I am seeing is at 60 fps everything is really smooth and stays that way until around 55 fps but if I drop further to say 48 - 50 fps things look awful. According to the info I could find the VRR range should be 20Hz - 120Hz. Should Gsync still keep things smooth at 45fps? I rarely ever drop below that and …

I currently have the RTX 3090 FE but am thinking whether or not if I should get the RTX 4090 card. I run the sim in 4K ultra settings and would love to be able to get better performance if the 4090 will make a noticeable difference.

Hi, I have a question for all TV users. I originally came from a 27 inch 4k monitor (Predator IPS) and exchanged it for a half as expensive 34 inch from Dell (VA). The backlight bleeding was simply unbearable. My flights mostly take place online via VATSIM and mostly at night. So I'm almost always in a dark room and need a panel with good black levels. Yesterday I borrowed my son's 4k TV and I absolutely love it. The size is just awesome and gives the flies a whole new level of reality. Even 4k resolution on such a big screen is just really nice. The TV is only borrowed and I have to return it. It was also impressive that oddly enough everything ran smoothl…

Hi Now that I got both screens working I have a problem. If I take screenshots to the second monitor which is the TV, I get transparency in the back of the screen which means colours don't match. Tried to remove transparency effects on windows 10, tried snipping tool... nothing works. Any suggestion?

Hi, After my Dell Alienware 3400x1440, I have now a new TV, model LG OLED 48C24LA. I would like to have this new TV for MSFS and the computer monitor for all other tasks like internet, normal work and so on. Is this possible? Which connections do I need and which special tools or programs do I need to install? Thanks.
