Hello, I'm thinking of buying me a 1440p monitor, most of them are now at 140Hz or 165Hz with gsync. I'm used to limiting all my flight sims to 30Hz (60Hz monitor @1/2 refresh rate in NvCP). Is it possible to cap gfx output to 30 fps and have it still synced properly with these high refresh monitors? Please share your tips and experience. Thanks.

I am running windows 7 pro 64 , old I know but every things great Cheers Rhys

I was watching this YT from Nvidia and noticed that Lockheed Martin was listed as a partner to Nvidia. I wonder what this means for P3D?? No MSFS comments please. See (at the beginning):

  7. I was having trouble deciding on which monitor, so I ended up ordering 4 different monitors for testing (three - 32", and a 39"). They are all 16:9 and VA panels, but some using their monitor for Sim'n are going to prefer a 21:9 or even wider aspect, but I also use for work and rendering. All these monitors are available from Amazon, but a couple of them I bought from Walmart since I did not want to abuse my Amazon return policy. _____________________________________________________________ 32 inch GIGABYTE G32QC A - Curved 1440p --- $300 32 inch SAMSUNG UJ59 - Flat 4k monitor - $320 32 inch Dell S3221QS 32 - Curved 4k monitor - $380 39 inch Deco …

Now that SIM 10 is out, I would like to use 3 monitors taking advantage of the "Experimental" options. I really need some serious help trying toi figurre out how to do it. I've only had MSFS 2020 for about 1 month and just installed the SIM 10 update. So for a guy with little history with MSFS and an app that has NO MANUAL, my question(s) is/ are simple regarding the latest update: From the Experimental Window in the General Options, what are the step-by-step procedures for setting up a 3 monitor "cockpit?" With all the mumbo jumbo terminology in this menu I just don't have enough background, experience, or intuition to figure it out myself. I just want to…

For what it's worth, Toms Hardware posted an article yesterday by Anton Shilov, Contributing Writer (News): Nvidia to Further Drop Prices of GeForce RTX 30-Series Boards in Coming Weeks -------------------------------------------- Sometimes during the next month the sweet spot for series 3000 will most likely happen. 16. I would be interested to hear the result since my 4770K+16 Gb ram + 2070 Super is GPU limited in MSFS. Which btw is strange. How can I be GPU limited with that old CPU ? And is it different in other sims like DCS P3D XP ?

Just wondering how many of you simmer's have switched from the flat screen to the curved screen? I've read where some have and wouldn't go back to the flat screen and some regretted going to the curve screen and they returned it. I'm sure it is a matter of opinion. Are there any benefits or any dramatic changes? Just wondering?

  18. Hi folks, Time to build another PC and I’m just wondering whether the 3090Ti is really worth the eye-watering money over the 3080Ti for the purposes of MSFS and P3D. I have to say, my (doesn’t feel old but have to call it old now I suppose) 1080Ti has been doing jolly well with MSFS really, but will the 3090Ti yield a massive advantage? Am I tragically limiting my new PC by adding the 3080Ti rather than the 90Ti? Thanks folks

  19. This is an interesting discovery I made this evening. Any amount of OC on my 3090 GPU via RivaTuner is causing CTDs almost immediately. I had this happen back in early 2001 when I gave up the sim, and back then, there was an Nvidia driver from late 2000 that continued to work fine with an OC in the sim, but if you upgraded to the latest drivers back then, you would get CTDs consistently and early when loading the sim. I just ran the older driver until I packed up my cockpit and put it into storage. Now that I'm back in the sim 18 months later, I was getting the odd CTD, and then I upgraded to Windows 11, and the CTDs starting happening very frequently... sometimes…

Hey guys, So last December 2021 I built a new pc, specs: i9-10850k RTX 3060 12 GB Corsair DDR4 32GB Multiple SSDs. I am on p3d v 4.5 and it’s running pretty good. Was thinking about possibly selling my 3060 and upgrading to a 3080. My main question is, would it be worth it? Would I see much performance improvement? Is it true p3d is mainly cpu intensive? I remember I got my 3060 before I built the rest of my pc and I put it in my old system paired with a i7-3770k and didn’t see much performance difference, so I’m skeptical. Eventually I’ll probably switch to msfs once / if the AI engine ever improves. Thoughts?

Hi, I would like to set up the second monitor. I will need it just for some flight preparation while I am at the cockpit in the main monitor, and also for other tasks like working, internet and so on, while the flight is on cruise altitude. Two questions: 1. Do I lose MSFS performance in terms of frames with this second monitor only for other tasks? 2. Can I connect the second monitor with HDMI connection? I think the videocard supports more than one connection. I have i9-10900K without OC and videocard Asus RTX 3090 OC 24GB. Thanks.

Am finding my RX 6600 is not cutting it for VR. Using MSFS and may try DCS at some point. Current System I5-9600K, 32G ram, 1T nmve, 1T sata SSD, 650 Watt PSU (will upgrade if needed). HP Reverb G2 V2. GPU's considering: RTX 3080 10G (as low as 750 USD) RTX 3080 12G (about 800 USD) RX 6900XT (about 700 USD) RTX 3080TI (cheapest one on Amazon is 870 USD) Looking at Amazon and Newegg. 3090's are outside my budget, especially considering will probably need to buy a PSU. So what say you all and thanks for any responses.

Thinking about building a new box around September/October timeframe with RTX 3090 Ti FTW. Wondering whether I should wait for the 4xxx series or just get the 3090 now and just stick it in my current box and get the rest of the components later as planned. I'm assuming the price point for the higher end 4xxx series will be $2k +? Any thoughts? That 3090 Ti FTW is a beast from what I'm hearing.
