Looking for inputs and recommended solutions regarding my motherboard and the ability to accept a newer GPU. Because I currently have the GTX660 running ok I expected to be able to update to a GTX970 without problems. When installed, the computer will not boot beyond the HP boot screen. A little research on forums seems to indicate that the Pegatron MOBO has this bios version that isn't supported any longer and requires a version 8 bios which doesn't exist in order to run the GTX970. Short of installing a new MOBO is there another solution? How about a Radeon GPU? Is there any difference between Nvidia and AMD regarding the ability to be backwards compatable to this…

I've had my i7-8086K, 1080Ti, 32Gb RAM for 3.5 years. Running P3D v5.3HF2 in 4K on a BenQ 32" (VSync enabled on native 30Hz monitor). No plans to buy MSFS. HT is enabled in BIOS. I fly PMDG738NGu (50%); Xtreme Prototypes Lear 25 (40%); GA (10%) primarily out of large airports with as much AIG Ai as the sim will allow to maintain 30fps. I use Hi-Fi ASP3D / ASCA with EA and HDR disabled. I've excluded FS Labs Concorde as I only fly the 32-bit and settings are compromised to keep VAS < 4GB. Finally the prices of 3080's and 3080ti's have come down enough to be within my reach - barely. I currently have a Corsair RM850 850 watt gold+ psu. Do you think that will safely drive the above cards? It has all the required power dongles. The video cards I was specifically looking are the EVGA FTW3 Ultra 12gb 3080 or 3080ti. I know a 1000 watt psu would be better, but they are actually a bit scarce in my region, and I would prefer not to have to upgrade the psu (and so have to re-do all the power dongle runs) if I don't have to. I very angry about how companies are NOT doing their job. I've purchased the RTX 3060 graphics card from EVGA but they have no manual for this card. They have manuals for selected cards, and they skip around on them. I was able to find a manual for the RTX 3060ti but these are entirely different cards, and I want the manual for the one I have. Considering an RTX 3080 Ti with 3 DisplayPort and 2 HDMI ports (5 total). I have 5 monitors (all 1920 x 1080) for 180 degrees of the outside-the-window view. The RTX 3080 Ti supports 7680 x 4320 = 33,177,600 pixels The 5 monitors work out to 9600 pixels wide x 1080 pixels tall = 10,368,000 pixels Please confirm/deny... this GPU should be able to support this setup despite the 5 monitors total width exceeds 7680 pixels... yes? My GTX 1080 card is probably coming to the end of its life with only 8gb. (Although still performing adequately). Two local online stores have what seems reasonably priced cards available with far more memory. An RTX 2060 with 12GB and an RTX 3060, also with 12 Gb both Palit brands. Hi, I am looking for a monitor only for MSFS, I use a i9-10850k and RTX 3090. Does a monitor for MSFS need to be expensive? I could think of a 4K Monitor. However, I don't know if my GPU can handle the temperatures. Size-wise it could be 27" or 32". What is recommandable?

Hey folks just wondering if any folks have tried using nvidia surround to span across multiple displays. I've been able to do this successfully, but for some reason this disables any other monitor thats not part of the surround, including my RSG G1000 screens. Maybe one day proper multi-monitor support will be released and there won't be a need for this lol.

Curious on if the results will be that much greater for a 3090 compared to a 3080ti card. Right now my system has a 2080, nothing fancy. Just curious if there is a need for that much vram compared to what the 3080ti can be. Not a computer expert at all but if I am spening $1,000+ for 3080ti and can get a 3090 for $1,700 I dont want to be foolish but if the gains are so minimal I would go with the 3080ti. Thanks!

I was shopping around for a graphics card and I've noticed how Nvidia has added words to the names of graphics cards, with no details as to what they mean. even with graphics cards having the same name. For example: There is the RTX-3050 XC Gaming and the RTX-3050 XC Black Gaming. What's the difference between the two and why do they find it necessary to add words that the average person has no idea. Ken

My favorites are currently: RTX 3080 12GB 6900 XT 16GB 6800 XT 16GB What can you recommend? 16GB VRAM from AMD would be quite good, but I believe that AMD cards often have problems with Flightsim. And performance is better with NVIDIA cards.. Anyone from 2070 Super to 3080 or AMD? do you notice a performance boost in P3D?

I just manage to break my monitor with the tip of a screwdriver. I was putting a new RAM mount together to hold my mini iPad mini to display ForeFlight. I dropped the mount and my arm shot out in a reflex action to catch it - I was holding a screwdriver that pierced the screen! My monitor was a 1440p 2K screen. Hi All, Now that the price and availability for GPU's is finally starting to head in the right direction I was pondering about is it worth upgrading my trusty old 1080TI Currently I have it paired with an i5 9600K @ 5Ghz and I typically see my CPU usage around 60% & GPU usage around 75% - 80% I run MSFS 2020 on a TCL 43 inch TV at full 4K. I do run VSYNC "On" and FPS set to 30 in Nvidia Control Panel with the TV refresh rate set to 30Hz. My settings are basically High End with a couple of Ultra tweaks here and there.
