I had this card for all of a week and used it twice to play about three hours worth of msfs on a 4K display. All of a sudden, my screen went black and no input signal to my monitor. The GPUs fans are pegged at 100%. Now, every time I turn on my PC, the GPUs fans go straight to 100% and there’s so signal coming from any of its inputs. z370 gaming 7 mobo i7 8700k 32gb ripjaws V corsair rm850x gold certified the broken RTX 3080 running a bland Samsung 4K monitor. 3. Just curious, In flight simming, would there be a noticeable difference going from 60hz to a higher refresh rate for simulators in your experience? I’d imagine playing FPS games etc. it would but I only use flight sim and no other gaming.

  4. I am thinking of buying a new PC. It will have a nvidia 2070 super card. I also want to replace my old monitor with a new monitor, about 27 inch. Can someone tell me if going from a flat screen to a curved monitor is a good idea for flight simulator. I have never used a curved screen, so I don't know how this effects the overall flight simulator experience. Thanks, Jim

Hello Guys, I am willing to buy the new "gaming" monitor for my flight sim setup. Right now I have quite old Philips BDM4065UC/00 UHD 40-Inch Monitor. I would like to buy the modern monitor, and my minimum requirenments is 40 inch (I think for the immersion it is the minimum) Have in mind two monitors and I cannot decise, which one will be more immersive - do you have any thoughts or maybe some other recommendations? 7. I've lately wondered about this but have not really researched but thought I would ask here first. I currently have three 27" 1080 displays (three across), that I can switch among two PCs depending on my needs. I've see some of those large, stretched displays which got me thinking... is it possible to have a single display split its screen to show both PCs on it at the same time? Clutch

I paid a lot for a 3080Ti Founders Edition, and held off until the dust cleared post SU5 to install it. I installed it about 4 days ago and wow, what a nice improvement. I'm using LOD 3.0, Render Scaling 130, of course everything ultra, and geez I'm rarely over 60% flying into areas such as KBJC near Denver CO. Everything is very crisp and performance is stellar! This is the haziness we're seeing out here now w/ the western fires so it's really a pretty good portrayal of this reality. I'm struck by how sharp and detailed everything is and nary a stutter ever. I've yet to have a CTD since putting the new card in, and it runs right at 70 degrees C. CPU and GPU seem …

Hi all, Can’t seem to figure out this puzzle - this happened in P3D but affecting any sim. Had some CTDs happen so I installed the latest Nvidia driver (and deleted P3D cfg). I always use full screen mode (P3D, Xplane, MSFS) and use 2k resolution in the sim (2560 x 1440) but after the update, now I get black boxes in full screen mode, which doesn’t take up the full screen. Nothing else changed - monitor the same, display port, no windows update. The only difference is a new driver. If I switch to the 2k resolution (from the native 3440x1440) in Nvidia control panel, I get the same non-full screen view with black boxes. Going into the settings to change asp…

  11. Using the U2417h monitor which has native refresh rate of 60hz, I am trying to run it at 48hz by creating a custom resolution in the nvidia control panel. The other refresh rates available by default are 50 and 24. The monitor is able to run at rate down to 20hz as is also readable in its OSD status, however the issue is in neither of those refresh rates it produce smooth motion on the online UFO refresh rate motion test. The smooth motion only happens at like 30 and 60hz, other than those refresh rates it gives motion stutter problem as if the actual monitor is still running at 60hz. How does the custom refresh rate work, is it a software only thing or does this monitor …

Hello, I have different nVidia settings for the same EXE/game depending on using TrackIR or VR. Is it possible to created different nVidia profiles for the same game or is there a file that nVidia saves users' settings to and reads them at the EXE's launch? Thanks.

Hey guys, I've done a search but didn't really find what I think is the correct answer. I'm about to do a rebuilt and was tossing up between getting a 680GTX or waiting for the 780. In any event, thats another discussion. What I was trying to get my head around is whats required to run 3 monitors at once, all displaying FSX. Last time I looked into this it required buying a TripleHead2Go. Is this still the case, or does this Nvidia Surround thing I've read some stuff about sort of do that for us? If not, what do I plug my three monitors into on the rear of the card? My 580GTX has 2xDVIs that I current use (although not to stretch the FSX view). Am I able to…

  15. Just a heads up. A massive restock of Nvidia RTX 30-series GPUs is happening at Best Buy tomorrow A major restock of Nvidia RTX 30-series graphics cards is happening at Best Buy stores across the US tomorrow, August 26, 2021. The drop will include highly sought-after graphics cards such as the RTX 3080 Ti, RTX 3080, and RTX 3090, so pay attention weary PC builders. The GeForce graphics cards are limited to one per customer, notably not one per SKU, and only available at certain locations. That will hopefully ease a little of the mad dash to checkout that we've come to expect with online retail this past year. That said, I do suspect we'll see a few a…

On my previous desktop computer (GTX 745) the GPU would run at between 70 and 100 percent. I recently upgraded to a laptop with a GTX 1660 (over 200% faster then the GTX 745 according to user benchmark). While not as big of an FPS increase as I would have ideally liked, there is a noticeable frame rate increase, but now the GPU only runs at around 30 to 40 percent as seen in task manager. Is there a way to tell the GPU to "work harder" per se to get more FPS? Or does it not work that way? Interested in what the GPU gurus have to say. Thanks.

Greetings. I have an opportunity to get RTX3090 soon and I am wondering if my current build will be able to handle it. 20. About a month ago, there was considerable issue with an Nvidia update and use of Vulkan in X-Plane 11 resulting in multiple crashes. For Reality-XP users, Jean-Luc, RXP CEO, offered a solution by renaming specific RXP files. Since then, I have upgraded to a custom PC and just noted a Vulkan crash. I'm looking to locate Jean-Luc's post with the earlier solution. Of course I can't remember if it was on the AVSIM forum (s) or X-plane.org forum (s). Any assistance will be much appreciated.

Hi, I’m looking to get either the MSI or EVGA RTX3080ti. But i’m unsure what one to get as there is quite a bunch to pick from. Here is the two links to both cards. Ok, let me start by saying I am a compltee newbie when it comes to refresh rates, IPS, GSync, and all that gibberish. XD I am flying with an ASUS 1920x1080 60hz 27" monitor and a 2080 Super. I get consistent 60 frames on Ultra and I am very happy with it but as it happens I was wondering if I was not fully enjoying the capabilites of my rig and FS by not upgrading to a better Monitor. I checked the BEnq PU3200 32" and it looks incredible but I am afraid my performance might be hurt too much. So, question is, what would be a reasonable monitor upgrade for a 2080 Super? Thanks in advance guys.

  23. Was watching a video where HAGS on/off was benchmarked for the 2080Ti card and to my surprise it looks like enabling HAGS reduces performance (about 20%) with that card and MSFS2020 (pre-SU5). Is that the consensus among users and does it still hold true for SU5?

Hi Guys, I am almost pulling the trigger to get a new card but cannot decide between 6800xt or 3080. I am only on P3D v5 now and thinking to get MSFS on day. As you know 3080 only has 10Gb Vram and with DX12 I am concern if that will be enough. Ray tracing itself is not something that i have to have since I hardly play any other games. Any pointers will be appreciated. Thanks!
