I honestly feel sorry for folks who paid what we know folks have been paying for 2080Ti's in the last few months. Here is the Cragslist search for 2080 near me. I expect it to be pages long soon. 😞 I especially feel for the guy at the bottom with the "Used LIKE NEW" thinking he'll actually get $1,200 for it. Only way is if he finds someone who's never browsed the internet or never typed in 3090 by accident when looking for a card. 🙂 It's gonna be a bloodbath!

Hi guys, I have a Ryzen 7 2700x with Radeon RX590 GPU on Windows 10. In my home cockpit I use 4 monitors like this: - 3 regular desktop for internet etc. This is set as "use as main screen" - 2 wide screen cockpit view - 1 instruments - 4 rotated 90 deg, instruments Layout screenshot Now I sometimes work only on the desktop monitor with the others switched off (power, not soft-off). When I want to fly and switch all monitors on again, the layout rearranges like this (even losing the 90 deg rotation), as if the screens were connected for the first time: Layout rearranged I did install the Radeon driver but if you go …

Good day, I need help with a monitor recommendation, please. My 43" Dell died and wondering what would be the best option on a 38". I have an Nvidia Titan RTX 24 GB and running P3D and I'm new to the MSFS2020. Thank you!

Hi-still tooling around in P3Dv4.5 (latest hotfix) and plan to stay there for now. I use three 4k monitors in surround as a single display, and a fourth monitor as a second screen. I do not use TrackIR or any software for custom views. The surround setup is 90% for the virtual cockpit and the fourth monitor is for instruments that are undocked. My video card, an old NVIDIA Pascal Titan, has room for 4 outputs, which I'm using. The surround display in P3d is created by stretching the view over three monitors, and running in full screen mode. For the life of me, I can't figure out how the eliminate or minimize the surround stretching after searching the forum…

On YouTube, I found what looks like someone leaked benchmarks for the 3090. Shows Fight Simulator at 4K High resolution. https://youtu.be/nDfItI9p_m0?t=95

  9. Here we go, the 3080 reviews. quite some reviewers use MSFS as a benchmark, heheh, love it! Does anybody have an opinion as to how the new MSFS2020 benchmarks for the 3xxx series would relate to P3D? Higher, lower, the same?

Hi all, I was wondering, new graphics card... but what about that VRAM? I read the things from Guru: https://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/microsoft-flight-simulator-(2020)-pc-graphics-performance-benchmark-review,4.html But I'm doubting about the 3080 or the 3070. I always went for the 070 or equal (got) and am now on a 1070 series, and it is time for an upgrade. What do you guys think? Of course we have to wait and see how the 3000 perform but I also play games outside of MSFS. cheers vic

Compared to P3D which uses 3 cameras. Is there any plans for MSFS 2020 to do a decent triple monitor view. Streching or using NVidia surround does not compare to P3D. ( And a big thanks to Almost Aviation for his tutorials ). The left and right disorted views spoil what could be a fantastic Sim. Any help or comments would be much appreciated

I am most likely going to get it but not sure if I should wait for the 3rd party cards or just get the founder edition card at launch. What do you guys think? Also there seems to be no mention of a 12pin connector that was mentioned by leaks. I am also concern if this card would even fit in my case too.

I'm a sucker for good visuals, and accordingly set my mind to get a 16:9 32" 4K monitor when building my PC for MSFS2020. But the new and official trailer looks like it was shot in a 21:9 ultrawide monitor and the extra screen real-estate is very appealing. So here's where my mind is at 16:9 4K 32" - Cheaper, options for higher refresh rates (if i'd like to divulge in some FPS games), lesser sim performance (fps wise) due to more pixels to be rendered. 21:9 Ultrawide >29" - More expensive, more field of view, more fps due to lesser effective pixels having to be pushed by Graphics Card allowing for more sliders on the right, higher refresh rates options…

  17. Hi, I currently have 3 Asus VE248Q 24" wide led monitor that I use for my cockpit view (wide screen) and I also have one VE278H 27" wide led monitor that I use to display the overhead panel. I have a Asus GTX1080 Ti for my video card. I would like to upgrade to 4K and my understanding after reading a lot of topic on this forum, is that I should go down to one monitor and drop the overhead view. My card will not support a 4K monitor and the VE278H 27" wide led with a acceptable FPS rate, I get with P3D v5 between 40-50, right now . My questions is, should I buy a good monitor like the BenQ PD3200U 32” UHD monitor, or I go for a TV del 48" or I go with a widescr…

Based on Nvidia’s public statement, the new generation of graphics cards (3000 series) will be revolutionary. Even their more inferior card, the 3070, will be more powerful than the 2080ti. In light of the upcoming release of these monumental graphics cards, it’ll be interesting to see a matchup between MSFS and the 3090 GTX. If the card cannot smooth things out, what will? I convinced Alienware to allow me to return my recently purchased system for the new Alienware which has the 3090. It appears it will be ready in a few weeks. Many of you urged to to wait - you were right

  19. I’ve made a little home work on the topic, looking at Nvidia video and reading articles. Nothing really convincing but I see some fellow simmers like @Arwen recently going for it. More convincing. What are your thoughts ?

  20. Just building a new PC (Ryzen 5) and I haven't purchased a video card yet. I was so close on purchasing the EVGA 2060 Super but have now decided to wait since Nvidia had their 3000 series announcement the other day. I should probably just wait but what do you guys think about using a cheaper card temporarily, such as a GTX 710 (2GB) at basic settings just so that I can get used to the sim? Will it be flyable? Thanks

I know there are countless articles and opinions about that, but ALL I want to know is if you can read the text in small instrument gauges just as well or better on a 4K large TV (43”) vs a 4K 32” monitor. I just bought a 32” 4K monitor and I’m thinking I should have bought a 43” 4K TV instead and considering returning the monitor. Please respond only if you have personal experience with a large 4K TV and flight sim. Thank you

Hello, I am planning building a new server for flight simulation. I have decided to go with the new RTX 3090 Ampere card, and the i9-10900k or I9-10850k whichever is available. One issue that I noticed is that the new RTX cards support PCIe 4.0. Intel left out the upgrade to PCIe 4.0 in their Comet Lake CPU's. AMD had some of their Ryzen CPU's with the PCIe 4.0 and some AMD based Motherboard manufacturers (Gigabyte) have some motherboards using the PCIe 4.0 Would a card like the RTX 3090 be throttled back, or not performing to its intended capacity due to this? Would it make a difference when using P3D V5 and MSFS 2020 if the CPU and MB only ha…

  25. Hello, I am using a GTX 1070 currently and am wondering if an 8GB card will be sufficient in the near future with P3D. P3dv5 has made things more balanced between the cpu and gpu, but with my vram approaching 8GB of usage in some situations, it makes me wonder how much longer my 1070 will do the job. The price difference between an 8GB card and an 11gb is huge, even with the latest generation of GPUS.
