Are ORBX meshes for cities like Paris,London,Sydney better than the photogrammetry asobo provides in sim, with or without the world updates?

I've become accustomed to seeing the plane rarely on the route line during flights in all of the 3 birds I'm flying, 787-10, Citation L, and TBM930. Instead it's always offset a substantial distance. While flying the 787-10 yesterday (Heavy Divsion mod) I set the descent altitude step from FL400 to FL260 30nm's before the ToD indicator on the route. Problem was, the plane was quite a distance from the route line and did not descend, presumably because it wasn't close enough to the ToD marker to sense it and activate descent. I'm told w/ the HD mod there is no need to press the ALT button as when passing ToD is automatically descends if you've enter a lower altitude. …

I normaly just use DEV mode, so I'm aware that last airports history in MSFS does not work (why?) So, it does even not work with DEV mode off here ... has anyone else get this working? I just see the 3 airports in my history from about one year ago, during the short period, this feature has worked. Does anyone know a workaround maybe? thx!

Hi, Can any kind soul point me in the direction of some reasonable graphic settings at the moment. I’m running a 3070 and used to have some good settings pre SU5 but since then I’ve found everything got reset and I can’t keep up with what best practice looks like at the moment as I read various (and at times contradictory) stuff as to what the settings should be. I've had MSFS from day one. Today, I have finally understood how to assign views. It's taken a while (!) but I cannot tell you how happy it makes me. Silly post I know, but I just had to tell someone😃. Rob

I haven't flown the JF arrow for months. Got it out of the hangar today, and on takeoff roll the aircraft feels like it is in a severe crosswind. Almost full rudder required as it accelerates to keep it from veering off the runway. I have played with rudder sensitivity, but doesn't seem to help much. I don't like to turn rudder assist on because I don't need it for any other aircraft. Has anyone else seen this?

I am not sure what the cause of this is, but everytime I enter in a waypoint, whether its an ICAO for an airport or a fix, or sometimes even an approach, they seem to show up as all having duplicate entries. Anyone else with this issue? I've seen it in the PMS GTN 750, Working Title's NXi, FBWA320. So I don't think the problem is tied to any of those but perhaps it's a bug on Asobo's side?

This is what I get at NZQN (Queenstown) - an Asobo airport: ... they also show in the (excellent) new NZQN addon by Inibuilds - as they appear to be default Asobo statics - that are NOT affected in any way by user settings for AI traffic or ground aircraft. It doesn't matter how I set traffic: 0% - 100%, Generic on or off - I've tried every combination of every traffic-related setting. Air traffic live, AI, none, plus ground traffic - all at various percentages. These aircraft spawn no matter what. Worse still, those two gates are flagged as apparently empty so, more often than not, you spawn on top of one of them - or your own AI-generated traffic do…

Hello there Yesterday's update was a real disaster for me. When the hotfix was installed after an hour of trying to, an unexpected event occurred: the update was installed in another folder! MSFS no longer started. At the end, I had no choice but to uninstall MSFS and reinstall it. Time consuming! Luckily, the new installation updated version 1.19.9.0 with the hotfix. But that has been another demonstration that updating MSFS is getting more and more complicated. I would like updates to be easier for everyone. Thanks everyone for your help. Regards.

Silly question, but how do you open the tablet interface on this plane? It used to open after loading but doesn't any more and I can't find a click spot or keyboard shortcut for it. It seems that not even Google knows the answer to this question, but surely someone here on Avsim does. 😣

Each time I start I get this message since WU6 and asks if I want to start in safe or normal mode. Problem is I ended sim normally so not sure why I am getting this message? No issues once load sim normally but message is annoying. Anyone have solution or at least know problem?

Does anyone understand the MSFS startup sequence..? I get various black screens, spinning circles before getting to "Checking for Updates". But today, I also got a Gaming UI window with "Syncing your settings".. Is this something new, or a sign of server overload?

I fired up the installer just now as I always do first thing and a update is available for the developer version which I normally run. Tried to install the update but it fails on a html_ui module error. Has anyone else had this and know what the issue is ?

Hello all, User of Track IR and since update 6 it has appeared really choppy... altered the off screen terrain pre-caching from Low to ultra in order to try to mitigate this issue, also turned off motion blur altogether, have v-sync on limited to 30 fps and using dev mode averaging around mid high 40s flying the FBW A320. Started out with LOD of 200 starting to wind down to 160 to see if this improves matters but still getting the freezes. Has anyone else had these issues with Track IR other than that everything is great, sim looks better and in between freezes is smooth. Regards Nic

I find the pop-up tool bar handle at the top of the screen a little annoying. Maybe it's good for beginners to show them there is something there at the top (the menu icons), but most of us know how to find them now. I was hoping MS/Asobo might put a toggle for it in the settings menu in a future patch, but some kind soul has developed a little mod to remove it. It works just as advertised. The menu icons are still there of course when you move the mouse to the top of the screen. It's a really small file, about 8kb. Just drop it into the Community folder as usual. Will the current version of the G1000NXi fly a Go Around/missed approach procedure? I don't see the missed approach procedure as part of a loaded approach. Related to this, it does not seem the Go Around button on the throttle of the Baron58 is operative. I also don't see a control binding for Go Around. Am I missing something (again 🤔 ). Thx, Al

Hello, At cold and dark cockpit when bat on then sim crashes. With or without tbm930 mode it gives crash when bat on. Any idea?

I missed the last world update but i tried to get it but the sim no longer gets updates from the microsoft store anymore so it keeps sending me back to the store to get it.

Anyone else having problems with flaps not fully retracting on TBM and KingAir 350. Flaps work fine with Airbus and both Cessnas, I am using Thrustmaster AirBus SideStick. These are ones i tried, not sure what might be wrong.. Thanks

Ever since Navigraph took over Simbrief, my flight plans don't get loaded into the Simbrief downloader. Is anyone else experiencing this and is there a way to fix it? I am logged into Simbrief and Navigraph but my flights aren't going into the downloader.

Hello everyone, V3 has been released and is fully compatible with Microsoft/Asobo's October update and patch (1.10.7.0). Apologies that I might have got the update number wrong in the upload at Nexus and Github. You can be assured that V3 will be fully functioning with the latest Asobo update. The laws of fiddling with things that are not broken........ I purchased a Samsung 860 Nvme and installed MSFS on it, partially in anticipation of the implementation of DirectStorage on windows 11. The sim ran fine, high FPS, no stutters etc, but of course I'm a simmer, and couldn't leave well enough alone. Accordingly, I ran performance tests between my regular SSD's and My NVME and noticed that the SSD (Using Samsung RAPID mode) was apparently much faster on sequential read/writes than my new NVME.
