Afternoon all, I've just published my review of Pilot Plus' Bristol. I wasn't quite as quick off the mark as I sometimes am but hopefully it'll still prove useful if you're considering buying it. 🙂

It would be good if MSFs supported direct storage on windows 11. For those of us with m.2 drives. It would mean super quick loading. I believe this is how the game loads so fast on Xbox. The load times put the fastest PC to shame.

  3. Started by Wblackret,

I had an odd situation come up today that I was able to correct, so passing this on to possibly help someone else. A short flight in my local area resulted in a crash to blue screen and auto reboot of computer. Each time I restarted MSFS I was greeted with the ‘Safe Mode’ screen. I checked event viewer and it was stating some sort of error in the Community Folder/AFC_Bridge/bin/AFC_Bridge.exe. Couldn’t figure out what was going on, all was running ok prior to this. Restarts of MSFS would continue to the ‘Safe Mode’ screen. Whether I selected Safe Mode or continue as normal, the end result was the sim would freeze half way through loading the flight. So, I delet…

NATIVE H-60 Project [WIP] CHECK BEFORE USING 1) Nearly all of the electrical and system controls are located on the overhead panel. Please familiarize yourself with it in order to get the best experience. 2) MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE STARTED THE AIRLANDFS APPLICATION BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT TO TAKE OFF. Please make sure that you started the application that came with THIS helicopter, to make sure that you are using the correct Airland Profile 3) If your aircraft is not showing up in the aircraft selection menu, you have not properly installed it. Make sure to delete any existing builds and that your Aircraft folder is located at .../Community/destroyer121-sh60/Ai…

Has anyone else tried the new H-60 Helicopter? It uses the same Airlands app to use the Chopper as does the R44. I really like the way it handles and to a non-expert like me, it is way more comfortable to fly. It doesn't bob all over the place and responds to inputs appropatilly. It's still a handful to fly, but not as unstable as the R44. It could be the way I have the airlans app setup though. I would guess to enthusiasts the handling characteristic might not be refined enough. I haven't tried modifying the options in the airlands app. It looks great too. I wish there was an easy way to zoom out the cockpit, however. The views seem too cramped to me. …

"You can follow the flightplan directly from your PFD." "Since the flights are organized according to the Bush Trips scheme, the route is not displayed on the MFD." What is a PFD and what is a MFD ? Where can I follow the flightplan ?

  7. I just installed an SSD on my Win10 PC in preparation for installation of MSFS on it from the Microsoft Store. After Microsoft instantly took my money, I encountered a page that asked me where I wanted to install it and asked for a device. Huh? It was looking for a serial number for an X box, not a PC. Confused, I called support 3 times with no answers forthcoming on how to proceed (and a lot of phone issues on their part). Bottom line...on the third call I asked for a refund. The download apparently doesn't start until you provide a device serial number. I realize I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but why are they making it so cryptic? Am I the only one who …

  8. Hello fellow aviation nuts, I'm running a VKB Gunfighter MKIII with MCG pro grip and VKB Pedals. I would be extremely grateful if someone would be kind enough to share a Black Box profile that has functional virtual toe brakes in FS2020. VKB posted a working profile with functional toe brakes in 2017, but as far as I can tell nothing from them since. My problem is that the profile they posted is setup for the VKB KG12 grip, but I have the MCG Pro grip so that profile doesn't work properly. VKB's hardware is undeniably excellent, and I am definitely a huge fan. But as a customer, I feel as though their software and software support is sub-stan…

A game or a simulation? Only serious "simulators" talk in this forum. Complain about the rightly considerable deficiencies in the programming of the aircraft. The landscape, which deteriorates with every update, is also criticized. Please note, however, that Asobo was commissioned by MS to use the existing “Bing Maps” that hardly anyone has used so far and to develop a “flight game” with the limited hardware resources of the upcoming X-Box. Target very high subscriber numbers. But what did Asobo do, they worked with enthusiasm and shot far beyond the target! An A320 was certainly not wanted in this form for a flight game that a ten-year-old sh…

  12. Some knobs on the autopilot glare shield panel can be pushed or pulled (in addition to rotate). In the online tutorials, I see that when the mouse cursor is hovered over the knob, there is either an up or down arrow corresponding to a push or pull action, depending on where the cursor is hovered. I however, do not see the up or down arrows. When I hover over the knob, it turns blue and cursor changes to a hand. No matter where I hover, I do not see the up or down arrows. Is there a setting somewhere I need to change to get the push/pull action on the knobs? Appreciate any guidance. Thanks, Rushad

  13. I was recently lucky enough to get a new pre-built Lenovo Legion PC with an RTX 3080, 10700KF processor and 32gb RAM @ 3200mhz with MSFS installed on an NVme drive. After more than a week of testing, I am worried something is not quite right as my fps are all over the place and I'd really appreciate the feedback of those with a similar setup. I am running at 4K, ultra settings, vsync off and resolution scaling set to 100. I have all the latest drivers updated and have removed any bloatware. My PC is set to high performance both in Windows and the Nvidia control panel. On Ultra, in the air above 20,000 feet I get 50 to 60fps which is great but on or near the…

  14. I commented on this in a couple threads but it really needs to be discussed. The difference in what we can expect with World Updates versus SU updates. In short World Update have historically improved the sim and moved it forward. So with this new release (WU VI) I like many others am very excited to see improvements and issues resolved. The problem is when Asobo get's around to the SU update it takes us ten steps back. Our add-ons are broke, ATC get's screwed up, XBOX version get's release hosing up our tool tips (just making a joke here), etc. So first and foremost maybe Asobo can meet us half way and not force the SU updates on us. Give us a choice until the iss…

  15. The 1.4 update notes say that they fixed the brake pedals: "Pedal action reversed" ... HOWEVER ... (on my system) the brake pressure indicators [now] correspond to the correct pedal input, but the actual EFFECT is still applying brakes to the wrong wheel. Similarly, the rudder trim goes in the opposite direction when using the same control input mapping for all my other aircraft. I would have thought both of these would be relatively easy fixes. Otherwise, though, I'm very enthusiastic about the AH MkI - it's a joy to look at - inside and out!

I recently uninstalled fs20 after an update not installing however I'm now experiencing even worse issues. When downloading the fs patch files it will get to 100% and then proceed to either reset to 0% or then go through decompressing and then reset to 0%. Not sure what this means but any help would be much appreciated.

I notice that the V-speeds of the longitude are surprisingly high compared to the other jets in msfs. I searched for more information about its vspeeds, but came up empty. Can someone more knowledgeable shed some light on the appropriate vspeeds are, in particular vr, v2, vapp and vref?

I'm about to reinstall MSFS due to some hardware changes. I've also got a new 1 tb M.2 SSD. Is it fine to install both, windows and MSFS on the same SSD or should i better keep the actual one and seperate the installation of MSFS on that SSD? (like P3D or FSX) Thanks for any advices!

Has anyone else noticed this program behavior? I can fly any of the aircraft from the small commuter planes up to the dreamliner and A320, and the longer the flight, the more my system bogs down (reduces framerate) It's more severe with the longer range aircraft, but it appears to have to do with how long the flight lasts rather than the distance covered. Which leads me to suspect it's some kind of system resource that is not being released as the plane session goes on, and that leads to slower and slower performance over time. Either more and more memory is being used and not released, or more and more system tasks are being created and not stopped when they are no…

RNAV works perfectly with the A32NX Experimental. But not with the airports in Switzerland. I have tested these airports: LFSB, LSGS, LSZH and LSGG. APPR could not be activated at any of them. All data are correctly stored in the MCDU, but still no approach is possible. As I said, I only found it here. A request to Navigraph showed that it is not due to the data. Without Navigraph data I found the same behavior. Does anyone have an idea? WoDi

  22. Overall performance has been stellar for me w/ LOD-O at 400, LOD-T at 300, RS 120, and ample GPU/CPU/VRAM headroom. This being said I was taxiing out of HECA this morning and after pushback, for the first several hundred feet of taxi, turning the plane as needed, just amazingly smooth and stutter-free. Right after I remarked to myself how phenomenal this was in this complex scenery I had a brief 'shudder' for lack of a better word that lasted just a fraction of a second but disturbed animation very visibibly if briefly. By the time I got to the 23C threshold this happened another 4 to 5 times or so. No visible disruption of vsynced 30 frame rate (looking at RTSS), no …

I am trying to install MSFS on the Microsoft Store. I am installing it onto a different storage drive, so yesterday I selected the different drive to download to when installing and I literally left my PC on all day. I ended up closing it down with about 10GB left to download as it was very late. Today I have come back to continue the download and it is saying I have to download it all again? I've tried selecting the different drive etc. Is there something I am missing? There's no way in hell I am even going to consider downloading it all again. This installer is absolutely pathetic I have had nothing but problems so far and I will be sticking to FSX if I have…

As we are simmers in good standing😉 this is a recurring question on this forum, here is a headup on a series of posts that the A2A's owner posted a few days ago.. I let you make your own mind, I personally am not sure that I understand what the message he wants to pass on to us is. I find these posts rather convoluted like he had not yet made his mind. A2A is MIA - The A2A Simulations Community What I do understand is that they have not yet succeeded in transporting Accusim to MFS, and he gives no indication on how soon they will release for MFS, that they are chiefly working for the military market, and that they develop an air combat simulator. My own…
