Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I was using the smaller-more-transparent tooltips mod from https://www.reddit.com/r/MicrosoftFlightSim/comments/ipdrir/i_think_ive_removed_the_tooltips/ and loved what it did with the tooltips. During an update (I believe it was SU4 but can't remember) Asobo changed the Tooltips and they are no longer able to be smaller and more transparent. In fact, they now take up twice the realestate that they use too. Does anyone no of a mod for them other than just disabling them altogether that is compatible with the current MSFS version?

Hi After building my new computer and having MSFS for 2 months, I am very happy with what I am seeing and what can be improved. However I have a question for now. If I quit the internet connect which features do I lose exactly? I read that photogrametry for sure. Can anyone confirm? Suppose that if I have the city I want to fly already installed. Not a big one to save space. Do I lose it as well? Multiplayer is another lost feature. Can I still fly offline and maybe with AI aircrafts in the future? More features? Ground textures? Lights? Others?

Hey guys I switched over from 60hz scan line x/2 with rtss to gsync 144hz and 36fps locked in ncp I noticed an increase in cpu usage, with long pauses on approach and some slight stutter. settings have not been changed. is this due to using 144hz? i9 9900k 1080ti not overclocked. thanks mike

Thrilled to take off from Barton to Dublin and discover that both my accent and ATC have English accents! Something I'd been hoping for from the outset. Now going to try some other parts of the world to see what happens. Will ignore the fact that the voice is that of an 80 year old chain smoker.

Since the 1.19.9.0 hot fix numerous aircraft, C172, Beechcraft G58, DA62 have crazy autopilot issues. In the 172 I cannot turn on the AP with my Honeycomb bravo or selecting it on the aircraft panel. AP functions, Hdg, VS, Alt, will not turn on either. Sync of Heading Bug is inop also. I did not check all the other MSFS a/c, the only one that works correct is the Carenado Seminole PA-44 which was purchased from the market place. Anyone else having this type of issue?

Recently, I've had some odd stuff happen, and I'm wondering if I'm alone. I choose my departure and arrival points, then choose to use high-altitude airways arriving on whichever runway I choose, and let the sim generate a plan. When flying it, I can see on the display that there will be at least one or two wonky lines out of place. My plane will try and follow those oddities in the plan. A few days ago, flying into St Louis, the plane turned around and flew about 75 miles in the wrong direction before going back again. I fly for a VA, which logs all my flights, and I looked today, and I average about 16 flights a week averaging around 1 1/4 hours for each flight, and each and every flight is IFR. Each flight is to different airports in the US, Europe, and Canada. My main aircraft are the DC6 and Piper Seminole. I have a few flights on the JF Arrow 3. I have been doing this for almost 4 months, so that is almost 70 flights a month or around 280 for the 4 months . I have not had one CTD, no stutters, FPS locked to 30, and most sliders on Ultra, using Live Traffic. Lately as I've taken more flights, I've noticed my average frames tend to drop as the flight goes on. For example, I'll start the flight at roughly 60 fps (1080ti with high settings), fly around the area for 30 minutes or so, and by the time I land and park, my fps will be around 30-32. None of my other sims or games exhibit this behavior. Is this indicative of some type of memory leak within MSFS? Have others reported similar issues?

Hello everyone. I have a problem with Axis and Ohs and my Behringer X-touch mini controller. The knobs are poorly recognized by the software, it turns left and right on the software when I turn that one way. I tested it with the free software and it works perfectly. I am flying the Arrow 3 from Teterboro airport to KBDL in Conn, and there is not one Live Traffic aircraft in sight....Considering there are about 30 airports near me, Including KJFK, KEWR and KLGA, something isn't right.

Not a biggie, but I cannot locate a switch for the Internal Night Lighting on the Carenado Seminole. I am using the keyboard "L" key to illuminate the Panel lights. I also notices the "NIGHT Dim / DAY switch next to the Radio master switch is "INOP" (I thought that was the Internal Light switch.

I would love to do some short flights between 30 minutes to 1 hour using GA planes with the G1000 NXi. Are there any websites or resources I can find online that has a collection of already pre-made flight plans I can use. I'd like to try out the capabilities of the NXi using SID/STAR and ILS for the approach but having a difficult time of choosing a nice route.

Hmm, this is an odd one guys. Forgive me if I have missed a bug post elsewhere or a post referring to the same issue, but I have been unaware of any. Previously the DC6 in pre MS update 6, flew perfectly fine for me, but since the latest update, for some reason which I cannot fathom, the aircraft shows a very pronounced wobble from side to side, not the yaw axis, but the roll axis. It is extremely pronounced. It isn't a wobble on it's own, but a rather unstable wobble after inputting rolI which initiates the issue (I hope that makes sense) have tried a reinstall, but with no effect. Flying the TBM930 with the WT g3000. Half the time I get a CTD as soon as I turn on the battery. Is there a secret handshake or some other way to get this plane started? Tom

Hi, right now I am en route with the pmdg dc-6 but my airspeed is decreasing to 150 kn instead of 205kn. I am flying at FL150 and have AIRFOIL HEATER MASTER ON since I am flying through clouds. BMEP is around 177. RPM is around 2300. Is there anything I need to to with the Superchargers? I had read you need to put them to high after 2 hours of flight. If I switch them to higher and bring back the throttle engine in the reds.

I bought a Flight Velocity Trim wheel (without sensitivity button). How do I set this up? I looked at https://flightvelocity.com/products/flight-velocity-trim-wheel-pro but in FS2020 it shows elevator trim axis -100 to 0 and 0 to +100% separate, no -100 to +100 option. So I tried slider axis + and - settings, but it does nothing OR it keeps the trim wheel in sim turning all the way down or all the way up , while I dont move the FV wheel at all.

Some like me are having issues with the controller throttle not allowing a move to the idle position. Not sure what is causing this but I found if you do checklist autocompletes up to the "After Engine Start" checklist page the throttle will then move to the idle side you will then be able to use your HOTAS to control the throttle. Is it possible to get the standard zoom to 60% instead of 50% as it is every time you start the simulator? I think 60 & better matches the photos taken of the landscape.

Hey guys, Just a quick question since i am no 320 pilot. I really enjoy flying the FBW320 but it feels very powerful especially on inital climb out. Yesterday i took off close to MTOW and climb rates varied between 3000 and 4000 feet per minute. Taking the expertise of the FBW Team into account i assume this is the real planes performance isn't it? Any comments on this? Best regards, Tom
