Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I'm not sure where to put this in the forums, so I'll put it here just for fun. I've never seen a picture of an airliner in the real world doing this, so at first glance one could conjecture that it's just a pic of a screwy MSFS model, in this case a 737 sporting an all too common United Airlines theme. I cannot imagen that nobody than me ask this question before, however I could not find anything regarding this topic regarding dc-6. Which equipment code do I need when flying with the GPS and which one do I need if flying only with VOR/DME?

I had to do a full windows install and then the sim again in its entirety......... 26 hours..... lovely! So, it is a Steam install to my D drive. The steam folder structure has changed since my last install and the community folder is no longer in steam/steamapps/common/flightsim/community Can anyone help? I tried googling but all the advice is from last year, nothing relating to SU5. The locations they suggest don't seem to exist in the same context anymore. Cheers Stu

Hello, I'm wondering about a detail in the UserCfg.opt file. Under graphics there's a setting named MaxAnisotropy, and it's set to 16 but Quality 0 {Graphics Version 1.1.0 Preset Custom {Texture MaxAnisotropy 16 Quality 0 Should Quality be 0, and what would it do if I set it to 3? Further down the file, there's a similar setting under VR: {GraphicsVR Version 1.1.0 Preset Custom {Texture MaxAnisotropy 4 Quality 1 As you can see, it's set to Quality 1 by default. Should it be set to a different Quality than 0?

Dellghted to have [yet] another Spitfire in my collection! The AH MkI is a stunner - but I have a few problems - and can't seem to find a forum dedicated to AH aircraft ... so... 1) The brakes instrument and pedal animations are correct - but the wrong wheels are braked (they're reversed). 2) Similarly the rudder trim knob rotates in the wrong direction - though the effect is correct. It's also incredibly s-l-o-w. 3) The silver fuel knob/rotator gets a hotspot but isn't functional. Any ideas, anyone? Adam.

For some reason the area south of Portland, Oregon has an incredible density of airports. You can spend an hour hopping around these small strips without re-visiting any. I know there are places like Alaska and the Rockies with lots of strips, but they're not always as close to each other. Anyone know of any areas like the area south of Portland?

Very disappointed that LOD degradation is very very noticeable after the latest Sim Update. LOD at 200 for both terrain and objects, still very bad.

hi, I just wondered if anyone else has come across this . for some reason when I turn the aileron full left deflection then on the screen my control column turns full left and in flight i get full deflection. However if I turn the aileron full right then although I get full deflection in flight and shows full travel on the settings page on screen the control column moves about a quarter of full travel only It does not seem to be on just one aircraft but on everything I've tried. very strange

I'm wondering if it's just the game being funky with me, but since recently the copilot in my game is in some kind of T pose, with her legs sticking through the underside of the plane. I only have it with the DA62 for some reason. Is it the same for others or just me? I haven't found anything about it when Googling for it.

Is anyone else having issues where half way into loading the sim, the sim freezes and the only way to get out of it is CTRL ALT DEL? What I thought was limited to DD Chicago and or FSDT ORD, is starting to happen at other places. Today i couldn't load Flightbeam PDX. How do I know where I can or cannot load? Thanks!

Does anyone who has flown the BD-5J recently made available in the marketplace have an opinion about the level or realism? I am asking that because I flew it for the first time today and I was able to t/o and land with no problem (of course, the landing was a little long but "safe"). Considering how little experience I have with jets, and how small the BD wings are, I was expecting a lot more difficulty flying it. It felt super stable and docile - not my expectation! Thanks

Pilots released their LEAL scenery. I had it for P3D and it was excellent. It looks like in MSFS it suffers from the same issues as the CYOW scenery from Roman Design. The elevations or terraforming are way out of whack causing severe bleed through of the sat images and extremely bumpy taxiways, etc. Hopefully they can get this sorted soon. It's a really nice scenery. I couldn't find any forums on their site.

Hi all, Ever since the last MSFS update requiring the X Box program to be installed, whenever I start my computer it shows up on the the main page and I have to reduce or close it. Is There any way to prevent this from happening again. Thanks

There's a good chance I'm doing something wrong, but I installed the updated PM50 GTN (free) and flew the JF Turbo Arrow IV last night, and periodically both GPS units would flash off for several seconds then magically come back on until later in the flight when they stayed off. It sounded like an electrical problem but there was no other indication of any issues anywhere, Is anyone else seeing this? Bruce

Hello! In a desperate attempt to force the last update I ruined my FS2020 install. After trying everything (MS Store reset, XBox App reset, Gaming Services reset, etc.) to update fs2020 to the latest version and still getting a "you're good to go" message and no update at the MS Store I started looking for solutions everywhere. I read somewhere you could rename your install folder, uninstall fs2020 in the XBox app, rename the folder back to what it was and install it again and it "might" work. To cut a long story short... it didn't! Not only did it mess my fs2020 install (lost everything including all addons in the Community folder) I am now unable to …

I must say I'm impressed with the boost in performance with my old system (CPU wise see signature) I just did a flight over southern California (high setting, no v-sync) and the fps were holding 60-65 fps and that was at 1900 hours. A gorgeous sunset I must say.
