That is entirely up to you... I fly with Rob Young's mod without any further changes (other than the animation fix).

If you like to create your own FrankenBonanza.. go for it!  😉

What animation fix? If you're satisfied with the mod "as is," then there's no reason why I wouldn't be too. Can you share this animation fix for the rest of us, please? 🙂

For some reason the modifications Robert originally made to the prop animations on the Bonanza suddenly started affecting the gear animations on float planes after one of the MSFS updates.  Bert tracked it down and found an easy way to prevent it.  You'll lose the new prop animations (just goes back to standard) but none of the rest of Robert's excellent work is affected, and more importantly, no longer affects other aircraft.

I'd like to thank Bert for his work in fixing the prop animation. With his fix the Turbo Bonanza should fly just as well as it did in the original V3 release, except for one issue: the ground handling is not as I'd wish it to be but there are ways around this, particularly if you tone down the sensitivity of your rudder. Unfortunately many MSFS small aircraft suffer from over-exaggerated response to even the slightest cross wind. This is ridiculously overdone. Many other small aircraft severely restrict your ground turning circle as a fudged solution. You can edit this if you know what you are doing in the flight_model.cfg file.

I'm not well enough at the moment to be able to update the whole aircraft but if my health improves I will have a go, and also update the yet to be released DA62 complete makeover which was within 1% of a sure release until Asobo (yet again, and now multiple times) keep issuing patches which sent me and hundreds of other devs back to the drawing board.

Sadly I am no longer in my youth and with current health problems do not have the energy to keep updating things every month, but one day I hope to release the DA62 mod.

Meantime I again thank Bert for his kind tweak and wish everyone well. I hope to have better news in the near future. Thanks for your kind comments about the Bonanza mod and I sincerely hope those that fly it get a lot of pleasure from it. Let me also thank Cavaricooper (esteemed member here) for his amazing support to me personally for many months now.

Cheerio,

Robert

Robert, Here's hoping you get your strength and health back soon. As others have deftly pointed out, you're a treasure and we wish you Godspeed and good health. Hang in there and we appreciate the lifelong contributions you have made to our hobby.  Best wishes...tp

Oh, so if I don't fly float planes (and I don't), I can just simply skip this edit and install the mod as is?

You can definitely do that... I just found that my Aviat Husky was impacted.. so I traced down the cause.

This mod installs a copy of the older animation routines.. may impact other airplanes.. or not.. be aware.

Fix is easy.

Bert

...also, if you use the AddOn Manager method, and only activate/link the TN G36 when flying it, and not when flying anything else, there is no issue.  I never noticed a problem because of that.

Thank you, Rob.

Robert, focus on your health. The mod is nice but it's not important in the whole scheme of things. Your health and well-being is. I hope you have many better days ahead of you.
