Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Currently I have a 34 in curved monitor on my desk with a desktop along with pedals, a hotas warthog throttle and stick. My setup is for flight sim and for my 9x5 job and was looking at getting something specifically for flight sim. I primarily fly the Airbus so I was wondering what I could look at to have a more dedicated home cockpit with the hardware that i have. I don't know if this is the right forum but I'm not looking to build a "home cockpit". I just want something a little more suited for flying the airbus. Any recommendations on what I should be looking at?

I've never flown in Australia. But I'm open to new experiences. Give me a route with the Kodiak 100 from, say, Munich, Germany, to Sydney. (Lol, I can see ORBX is already on it)

I am using the Honeycomb Alpha Yoke. Is there a way to start the twin engines one at a time, ie first the right then the left? I seem to remember a keyboard shortcut to separate them 🤔 or was that P3D

Hi... I am on the latest version of the Experimental version and for whatever reason, the speed break lever keeps going into the full position and deploying the speed breaks. I don't know if it is related but I can't seem to find where I have any other button or axis to deploy the speed breaks. ANyone else having this?

When communicating with ATC, I hear nothing, either from my own transmissions or those received. Is this the same for everyone? If not, do you know what I could do in order to hear everything?

While in FS 2020 when I go to have live weather selected I find that all three blocks for the weather are grayed out to where you cannot select any of the boxes. Has anyone seen this problem and might have a solution?

I've seen contradictory recommendations for both and don't fully understand how either work or their impact. Do most of you run with these on or off and what is your rationale? I generally keep both switched on and haven't perceived any impact from turning them off. Would it depend on what hardware you are using? I run a 5600X and RTX3070 at 1440.

Unfortunately my budget does not allow me to buy a brand-new computer. I wonder, however, if replacing my current videoboard (a NVidia Geforce GTX 1060 6GB) with a NVidia Geforce RTX 3060 12GB will give me such a boost in performance/quality that will make the 700 Euro investment worth to do. Or will a Geforce RTX3050 8GB (550 Euro) be just a slightly lesser choice? My CPU is an Intel Core i7-6700 3.4 Ghz 16GB memory. Can someone explain you how to get reverse thrust on the revers axis of the Hotas Warthog throttle? I had it working in FSlabs but I can't figure it out in MSFS with the FBW320. Thanks!

Hi, does anyone know how to let the aircraft for example the A320 fly the GPS high alt routes? I know its not very realistic but back in the FS9 there was a button called GPS where if you press that it would just fly the headings on the GPS lines. Can this be done easily on the A320 or any plane?

I know the other thread was locked, just wanted to continue hopefully on a more constructive basis. I flew the CRJ with 1.0.5.0 update last night. For me I noticed the LNAV was very solid, made correct turns with no hunting or S-turns that I noticed. All was good until I reached the initial fix for the RNAV approach to runway 16 at YMML. The aircraft just flew right past it in the current heading and I had to use HDG mode to continue with the approach and landing. Is there something I need to do to engage the RNAV approach?

This morning I am getting the above message and I only can choose between Offline or Try again. Offline wants me to go through settings which I do not want and Try again does nothing. Is this my system or is it MS ?

After reading this post on here earlier today, I decided to bite the bullet and take out a month's subscription of RT to see just how good it was. Set myself up using the drone camera at Heathrow together with FlightRadar and waited. The first time I used the simulator I thought it was amazing but as time went by I think that instead of getting better it got worse... I am not too worried because I have seen pictures of other simmers and it looks spectacular so it is a problem of configuration in my simulator.... One of the things that irritate me the most is the lack of contrast and more vivid colors in the simulator..... Especially that "White" layer that sometimes turns the whole panel black.... The following picture is a clear example of what I mean.... Do any of you have a good tutorial to modify the cfg?

Hi!, I installed the AIG AI manager and AIG traffic Controller and used to work fine and I also downloaded some libraries with no issues. Recently (after WU VII) I wanted to download some more libraries and I find it's not working, The AIG Manager window comes up and shows the installed items but when I click flight plans and online then the libraries page does not appear so it does not show any libraries hence no download is possible. The AIG MOD still works with the existing installed ones. I am wondering if any other flyers having similar problem after the WU VII update or is this a particular problem for me. So there is this silly theory going around that MSFS's priority is for X-Box, rather than the hard core flight simmer market on PC. The X-Box theory has always been a strange one for me, since time and time again, I only see Microsoft/Asobo spending resources and time on making MSFS more catered towards the hard core flight simmer market (ie. most of us here on Avsim probably fall in the hard core flight simmer market). Hi Guys, after the last update the tbm 930 Throttle Lever does not move anymore, when I acelerate in the joystick the engine will spool up, instrumentas are working, but the Throttle Lever does not move (animate) Does anyone has the same problem? Thanks

I have YSSY from orbx, and noticed an update today (I've been using it since the WU with no issues). I installed it, and when I landed I have noticed some very large black and orange triangles covering the whole airport along the taxiways. It doesn't happen in any other airport. I've lodged the issue with them, just thought I'd see if anyone else had had a similar issue before?
