Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

As title what does it mean and when should it be used.? I have googled it but still confused. I can land perfectly ok using ILS, I struggle a bit on visual.

Deleted - user error!

I tried going to my settings for the Fenix Livery Manager to set it to my custom location so that I can use MSFS Addons Linker. But for some reason it's not working. Whenever downloading the liveries, it only shows up 2 json files. Anyone know how to properly set this up?

I just checked to see whether MSFS would correctly show the upcoming solar eclipse on April 8, 2024. I chose the city of Indianapolis, Indiana, at 2:06PM Central time (3:06PM Eastern Time). Indianapolis will be directly in the path of totality. The amazing news is that MSFS correctly shows the Moon beginning to obscure the sun at that time. The bad news is that despite the Moon's blocking out the sun's light, there was no darkening whatever of the earth's surface along the path of totality. In other words, it still looked like mid-day outside.

Hi all I have an issue with MSFS and I don't know if it's a graphic setting or an effect file. I have jitering effects on moving Military Ships and as well on the TFDI MD11 when the Gears are in transition UP/Down/UP they're jitering the same way. In the graphic section I already tried bloom effect and motion blur, both with now effect. It's only in this cases. Otherwise I don't have jitterings. Here in the video I'm on the Miltech Supercarrier Pro on a moving Ship. If I select a static ship, there is no jittering. Kind Regards Patrick I've uploaded a short video:

Hello, Though not a hardcore systems guy, I like the best eye candy and flight model possible. I saw a review that says the PMDG 737-600 flight model is the MSFS flight model, does that mean it's a "standard in-game" model like the included A320 or has it been improved? (I would get the Fenix A320 but my cash is already in my Steam wallet so I just buy in the marketplace.) And if anyone knows when the next marketplace sale might be... 😎 Thank you.

Is it possible to convert MB-339 engine sounds to Hawk T1 engine sounds? I am very keen on such a conversion.

Has anyone else found that the AAO script for FCU commands etc no longer works? 😶 I know it's a completely new build, but I didn't think these scripts would be changed. @guenseli - We need you to save the day!! I can't fly any plane in MSFS using only the mouse in the cockpit. And I know there are many others out there who feel the same.

Hello, i recently upgraded my GPU (finally) to a 4060ti but the frame generation option in MSFS remains greyed out. I set it in the user.cfg manually, same as raytracing which also was still off. But how do i know if its actually being used by the sim now? HWS in windows is activated.

I have had MFG rudder pedals v2 for several years, and I have been very satisfied with the pedals. Lately I have got some problems. After a hard landing or a crash the pedals stop working. They are still visible in FS2020, but when I test rudder and brakes,no movement is recogniced. If I try to start MFG Configurator v2.17.exe, after closing down the simulator, it will not start. I have to close down my pc and restart it. When I then start the sim, the rudder pedals are working as normal again. I am the only one who has reported this problem to MFG, but they could not help me. Has anyone else experienced this, and is there a solution to avoid it? Tor Arild Danielsen

In my search of a small GA airport for my next project to build for MSFS, listening to (a lot) of requests I received and wandering on Bing Map and Google Map, I discovered that - at least - KAJO Corona Municipal Airport is entirely covered by Google Street. A couple days ago I wanted to test the new ground physics variables introduced with this latest beta which were activated in the default C172, so I pushed it, but ever since, whenever I try to fly from a nearby aerodrome into Lisbon, in the default C172 (classic instruments) or the PMDG 737 in a flight from Porto (LPPR) to Lisbon (LPPT), when I get near an area not far from the final approach segment into rw02 the program freezes 😕 I can still access the menu bar, I can't change views, I can't quit MSFS, and only going to task manager and killing the process puts an end to the experience ... I've done the odd GA flight here and there but I've mainly focused on large scale commercial OPS with all the usual suspects. I'd really like to get into GA flying as an alternative after recently doing a short 30 minute tour around Monument Valley. What GA aircraft would you recommend for short 1 to 2 hour hops using this criteria; 1. Available aircraft within the sim 2. Basic systems, not too complicated to fly thanks guys

Really frustrating, the update restarted itself for the third time today (!). It has been almost 6 hours and I haven't completed this update... to make things worse, the download speed is pain in the grass. My internet connection is OK (plugging cable instead of Wifi too). Are they aware of this repetitive issue?

I noticed there's a Glidepath icon activated on the PFD. Wondering how you can set that and get it to activate. I have indeed set a flight path descent in the GNS 530/430 systems that is active and working. However the GP doesn't seem to reflect this. What are other techniques to activate this (in addition to an ILS approach)?

I tried using the EFB on my laptop and notice a new app that looks like a MCDU, I tried opening it and it doesnt seem to show up properly. I tried pressing on the buttons but nothing seems to happen. Anyone know what this app does and how to get it to work?

Went to turn on icicing tonight for the Fenix, and all my assistance options say Volocopter. They are all correct, but I can't select anything but Volocopter. What happened? This happened after I installed the Fenix update today.

Anyone else have the same problem?

After years of only using msfs occasionally, over the past 6 months I have come to enjoy it and accept its...flaws (its hard to hold back going on a rant, btw). So yesterday I fired it up and there is an update, mandatory of course! It proceeded to install this 135gb monster over hours and hours and guess what? It was a total reinstall; into the default C:\\bla bla bla location, which made obsolete my previous location (since 4 years ago) of H:\MSFS\. So I could easily go on and on about time spent with addons, community folder issues, and changed settings...but does anyone have any idea why this happened? I'd been flying every day for weeks and this just rises out of now…

I've been into this hobby for decades. Flipping and flopping between DCS and Xplane and MSFS and all the rest. I'm pretty good at loading in SIDS and STARS, figuring out how aircraft work, taking off and landing, firing munitions, etc. What I'm not good at is just being a regular ol civilian private pilot. I guess it's partially a function of just wanting to learn a plane, take off, do the thing, and land But now I want to get deeper with Pilotedge or Vatsim, and I'm learning very quickly that I don't have nearly as many skills as I thought I did.
