Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Wondering if anyone has been able to get this EFB to work with FS2024. If it only works with 2020, I guess I will be staying with 2020.

Hey everyone, I was on SU4 and elected not to proceed to SU5 beta to keep things steady. I've never had this issue but all of a sudden I'd get the forever spinning blue circle when loading a flight (any aircraft, anywhere). Couldn't even exit without ctrl-alt-delete. Thought maybe it was a win11 issue, no updates, multiple reboots, same issue. Reinstalled (via steam). Still same thing. Checked my internet connection and it is perfectly fine with all other software, speedtest shows everything is normal (and high speed). I'm flying in Windows mode (not VR) and the screen goes black for a second and then a "Back on track you crashed" message. I'm assuming FS crashed due to a setting but not sure. I'm about 5000' in the air and this message randomly occurs out of nowhere. Is anyone else experiencing this and if so, how did you correct it?

I'm having a hard time with MSFS2024 at the moment, due to absolutely persistent stutters when flying mostly complex airliners. The issue is worse when using addon airports but even in vanilla stock airports it happens. To add, I have high FPS. That's what makes this hard to swallow. High FPS and buttery smoothness but stutters occur constantly; mostly when turning the view to face custom objects, such as airport terminals. The stutters get worse when looking out at dense, city scenery too (even if it's default). I've tried every trick under the sun, short of watching IslandSimPilot videos for ideas. 😄 I'm of course not expecting a completely stutter-free …

Man this sim is an abundance of goodness. Trying to decide my next airplane add-on, and it is not easy. I guess the right answer is buy them all, but right now if you had to buy just one… Black Square Starship ToLiss A340 (when available) TFDi MD-11 iniBuild A300-600R PMDG 737 iFly 737 Max I have the Fenix A320, A350 and 777F and enjoy them all. A big fan of BS products, and the Starship is pretty unique, but that MD-11 has a special place in my heart (late dad worked for Douglas), but I really like Airbus. Darn. Maybe easier to narrow it down to 2.

I've noticed some circumstances where if I'm on a STAR and I have a waypoint with a upper and lower altitude limit (like 12,000 / 10,000), the VNAV will descend a a pretty high rate to the lower limit and then level off and fly at 10,000' to the waypoint. This doesn't seem to be correct (or is it?), I figured the VNAV would compute a descent rate to avoid leveling off. Is this accurate in RL?

Anyone else not seeing live weather in fs24 today? Seems fine in fs20.

Any reason why I can't do layovers and multileg flights using the Fenix Bus or the iFly MAX? I use GSX and BATC. Or do I have to go back to the main menu and load the next flight?

I am trying to check if I do the right calculation of landing and takeoff distances and want to test it. Does anyone know of a program / mod to test this? (Just like there are landing rate mods)

I am completely Baffled by SIM update in FS2024. in FS 2020, you would simply Receive “mandatory updates” and they would install right in. No problem. I have had now, FS2024 since last August and, frankly I have found it to be an annoying pain in the word not allowed every step of the way. The scuttlebutt seems to be that it really started to behave like a lady when SIM update 3 came out so recently I have decided that I should keep up with the Jones's and get it. Not so simple. Having spent a wasted 2hrs trying to find how to remove the covers on the B390 I give up and ask this forum for help. I'm still using MSFS 2020 via Steam (the sim on C : and packages and cache on D : ) i cannot locate the user manuals either. If I start in operational mode at end of runway then all is fine. But when I start cold&dark on the ramp the covers are all on and I can't get the buggers off. Or do I have to upgrade to 2024 ?

I'm learning to use VNAV, but it's causing a problem in career mode, where I'm working towards Cargo-Heavy. My main aircraft is the PC-12, although I doubt it's unique to it. The flight plan shows TOD, as I approach I set target altitude and press VNAV, and sure enough the aircraft descends after it passes TOD. The problem, however, is that ATC keeps insisting that I maintain my previous cruise altitude for quite a bit longer. I get continually pinged and I can lose enough brownie points that I can't get the A needed to count towards the Cargo-Heavy target. IOW, ATC is penalising me for following the flight plan that I have ensured has been sent to ATC!!! In…

The new MSFS2024 FlightFX H-Jet is a free upgrade for MSFS2020 users but it breaks the sim by disabling the keyboard ESC command (and some others) which means once a flight is started you are stuck - no way back to the menus or the main screen and you have to go to Task Manager to shut down. Uninstall the H-Jet and things are back to normal. Bruce

New to msfs 2024. ATC doesnt talk to other aircraft or ai planes, only giving me instructions. Is this right? im coming from FSX/P3D where you could here other ai pilots switching frequencies, asking for landing/takeoff clearance, taxi, hold short, vectors, report aircraft in sight, etc. Does atc only communicate with the user in 2024?

I'm still using 2020, but I am thinking about finally moving over to 2024. Before I did I had a couple of questions: 1. In Career Mode, can you use third party ATC programs (like P2ATC, Beyond ATC, etc.) with it to complete missions? Or is it limited to only using the default ATC? 2. I understand that passengers are visible in Career Mode. But are passengers also visible in Free Flight? I realize some 2024 airplane addons include visible passengers, but does 2024 allow them to be shown in the default planes and 3rd party planes that don't include visible passengers by default? Thanks.

I have mixed feelings about this add-on. On the one hand it has very in-depth systems and it looks great. On the other hand, I think the plane lacks soul? I don't know, but it does not speak to me like the Fenix or the A350. It just seems to be lacking something, but I lack the vocabulary to state what that might be. Hi all! Hope you had a great holiday! I've been working on a Career Mode for iFly Schedules as I've had A LOT of request about a Career Mode this past year. With that said, I would love to get you input and feedback on what's important to you and what you would love to see. It's really starting to take shape and I'm happy to share a few screenshots. Anyone else having severe performance issues with Flightbeam KSFO v 1.3.4? Significant stuttering/freezes making the sim unplayable. I had to go back to the Gaya version.

I've just received and am in the process of setting up the Winwing A320 EFIS/FCU and MCDU for my desktop sim (MSFS 2024). Wondering if anyone is currently using BOTH Winwing and Rowsfire products? I'm looking to get the Rowsfire radio panel. The Rowsfire quick start guide states: "Cannot be controlled alongside WinWing hardware through MobiFlight due to different drivers." However it seems to me that Winwing is using a proprietary app (SimAppPro) and NOT Mobiflight. So they *should* be compatible, yes? I think my hangar is going to be filled with Black Squares, but one I am really looking forward to is the Caravan Professional. I probably flew the 208 more in 2020 than any other plane, and this new one promises to be even better. I would hope a release is coming pretty soon, as they had planned on releasing it last year. I think it needed sound work to finish. It will be an instant purchase. Anyone else waiting for this one? Old preview.
