Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

About half the time when I use "Quit to Desktop" the sim ends and I am returned to my Windows 11 desktop. But - there is still a FlightSim 2024 process running and has the same PID as the process that was executing properly. I have to go into steam and STOP the sim. No big deal but annoying and a curiosity. Any thoughts about why this happens?

I thought I had seen a listing for an app on here for ~$5 which would remove all covers (pitot, engine, chocks) automatically. 2 questions: 1. could someone direct me to it? 2. Does it work for career mode? Thanks.

What helicopters in MSFS2024 have autopilot and can load a flight plan? Any? In addition to the built-ins, I have the Hype H-145. Thanks

Every time I open the Cessna Citation Longitude in the cold and dark mode immediately all lights and PFD and MFD's are flashing. There is nothing I have been able to do to stop them. I go to external power and start the APU but when I try to put the APU on line all lights continue to flash. When I go to external power, I can start the APU but then when switching to APU power, the APU shuts down. The only way I can fly the airplane is to open it up on the runway. Hi all Having a very frustrating time of it today, as some stutters appear to have come from nowhere, with all aircraft, at all airports (even default). Everything smooth with frame gen, 30FPS, had some perfect flights for a few months. Now I am getting a stutter every 8-10 seconds wherever I am, in cruise, on the ground, over water, anywhere. After system restarts, still happens. Recently I have updated my AIG models and installed the FBW A380, which I have since deleted I have now turned off FSHud, so no AI traffic, and emptied the community folder. Any ideas where to look next? TIA.

Hi, I experienced the 1st day issues etc…refunded…uninstalled and loaded MSFS2020 back on. My main issue with MSFS2024 then was the 97% freeze when loading the sim (I was able make it in 2 times out of the first 3 days). So, I literally could not play, or fly. After 2 patches, I am looking to dive back in. Below are my questions. 1) Has the 97% issue been totally resolved or are there things that I need to do to prevent it? I am installing on a separate and dedicated D drive. 2) I mainly fly the P-Virus, DA40NG and the Sting S4 (FSReborn). Arg! For some reason not known to me today I lost conection between FS2020 and MS SW FF2 ? I''ve done everything I know, restart the sim, restart computer, check control panel, where the joystick does appear; My brother installed in my computer windows 11 a program to calibrate the joystick joy.cpl and everything works there in the windows calibration panel, everything lights. But when I load the sim. and go to the control panel for the controller, it shows Grey ?...! Hello, I was trying to purchase the Carenado 182 from within the simulator Marketplace, mainly just to see if it works, but it doesn't. I have an X-Box account with Paypal and a credit card active, but when I select "Buy" or "Buy and Download", I get a notice that the purchase failed. Does anyone have an idea what is going on? Hi all, Couple of things 1. How do you get rid of this terrible into video, which to make matters worse seems to be an absolute stutter fest. I have tried adding -Fastlaunch in Steam and it never worked 2. What's the current up to date opinion on AI ? (FSLTL, AIG etc) has it been working for you and if so what are your steps to get them working. Thanks ( I had to buy a $1000 gaming router to get this thing to play with decent D/L speeds and no blurry ground, but that was needed for this household anyway) Max.

Can I run BATC just to use the generated AI traffic? I bought the product to support it's development and because they said at some point they will also support VFR flying. I don't know the first thing about flying IFR so for me the ATC portion is probably no good. And besides, I don't know much about talking with ATC anyway :-). I am definitely a rookie when it comes to actual flying. Thanks.

43GB consistent RAM usage with a peak of 46. No wonder I was getting 1/2 second pauses. This is really more of an informative post if you are considering using 2020 addons in 2024. I'm not sure which addons make this happen but I ran both FlightBeam KMSP and Xwind KGRB on this flight. Landing at KGRB was a stutter fest. Asobo wasn't kidding when they recommended 64GB ram. FWIW my RTX4080 is also vram saturated!

MSFS 2024 barely loads to the main screen, and no flights can be started; has been like this for the last couple of days. I have seen reports of a similar issue by users in France and the Netherlands. Absolute shambles. Next thing Asobo or Microsoft will tell us is that they did not expect a high demand while most people are on holiday for Christmas.

I will try to make this short. I enjoyed playing P3D for years but I moved on to MSFS. In P3D I enjoyed watching planes at airports and I especially enjoyed watching a plane fly from gate to gate using Supertrafficboard and watching arrivals and departures using the camera app. When I moved to MSFS I thought I would have the same experience and maybe even better. That has not happened and I haven't used it in over a year hoping things would get better. So then MSFS 2024 has come along and so far it's the same problem and now I don't think MSFS will improve because everyone has moved on to the new game. Hi guys, Sometimes the yoke in the sim cockpit is misaligned with my physical yoke on my desk, slightly left or right. How do I move the sim cockpit to align it?...will it save that setting for that aircraft or do I have to align it each time I use that aircraft? Thank you and a Merry Xmas to you all...

So, taxing out from KSLC I noticed that the atmosphere leading up the mountains was thick and foggy but it was a clear day. Looked great but I figured I just never noticed before. Mind you, I flew into KSLC last week and I'm sure it didn't look like that. Anyway. The climb out with the Great Salt lake, sun coming down, and the atmosphere was emotionally touching. A WOW! escaped my lips. I Climbed up to FL350 and walked away from the computer. When I came back and it was dark. I looked out the Fenix A321 windows and POW!!! Hi, I have an 1 TB with 3.400 MB/s and 2TB with 7000MB/s. Where to install Windows, MSFS20 and 2024 and other applications? I also do video editing, so I think for that the 2TB is better choise because of the speed?

The knob in the left panel of the Extra 330LT does nothing. I can't input a GPS waypoint, barometric pressure, heading, course, etc. I see no obvious other way set these. Why???

No it's not the menubar within the sim, the one that opens when you hover the mouse on top of the upsidedown arrow. Is the one that used to show like the Taskbar but atop, where dev.Mode use to show as no.1 and all those other menu options ? How can I get it back. berlopez

I have deactivated multiplayer and disabled all traffic in the settings. MSFS2024 still sends me airplanes to the airport. 2nd question: how to turn off the default voices? What are your thoughts so far on the MSFS2024 performance? I have a "pretty decent" PC but I'm struggling to do a smooth flight. Even with medium settings.
