Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

For those of us that have less than perfect PC's or for anyone, is there a way to save a graphics profile for different scenes? Example, i may find the perfect set up for the 152 over built up areas but that would be totally different to the Airbus in my case Is there a way to do it or just make notes? Cheers Paul

Updated with solution. Just for your info, RAM seems not to make a perceivable difference. The sim now occasionally takes slightly more than 16 GB but it still stutters a lot like before, regardless of the graphics settings. For example in the New York approach challenge with the 747 the average framerate is 25-30 fps (which is good for high settings) but randomly drops to 8-10 fps with 100% CPU spikes. The HDD light also flashes a lot (no background tasks interfering) despite the RAM upgrade. If I switch from High to Medium settings, the average framerate is 35-40 but the random drops to 10 fps are still the same. The sim is on a M2 SSD (Samsun…

I'm new to flight simulators and Microsoft flight simulator 2020 is the first sim I got a few days ago, but I found the keyboard/mouse controls quite frustrating & difficult. So I decided to get a used Logitech attack 3 joystick, but when I used it it was VERY sensitive, even on the lowest sensitivity, it also had very slow control response. As well as that it also didn't return the planes yaw/pitch to normal level when I let go of the stick it would simply stay where it was before I let go of the stick which again was quite frustrating. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I've already found my house using coordinates as a destination. I'd like to add it to POI so I have a marker on it like other POI's. Is that possible? Thanks Dave

Hi All I find that elevator trim adjustments via the assigned button on my TM HOTAS stick have very little effect in the A320. Is that usual? It works more as expected in the default props. Thanks

My pilot profile page seems to be a bit buggy when reporting stats, it does not save the achievemnt settings im choosing nor showing the achievement badge for the cross-country multistage flight, the one in the c172 that ends in santorini. Is it still a bit buggy or am i missing s/thing?

Need help setting up my Xbox One controller to use with the drone camera. I watched this You Video but I believe it's only for PS4. I can't get my camera to move around like this. Can anyone share their bindings for the Xbox One Controller that work with the drone camera, would be very much appreciated. Thanks

I'd like to hear some discussion about whether airline liveries will be part of FS2020. Am I correct that ASOBO would need permission from the various airlines to use their liveries in the program? Is that a small issue easily achieved, or a difficult legal obstacle to overcome? Would the airlines expect to be paid a royalty? I don't recall hearing anything yet about liveries?

Is anyone else "on the fence" regarding Photogrammetry? On the one hand, the amount of detail you can get using Photogrammetry is astonishing. I was able to pickout a WalMart and Home Depot near my girlfriends house 1000 miles a way, such that she knew exactly where I was just by describing what I was seeing on my screen. Yet on the other hand the Photogrammetry areas tend to look "pasted in", they are rendered "darker" than surrounding autogen. The buildings are often fuzzy and of course photogrammetric bushes and trees are awful. By turning off Photogrammetry, the entire area looks more natural and organic, we don't have to deal with weird lumps on the ground…

I continue to lose video output even post the latest patch 10-15 minutes into the application even running on my system, flying or not. During the flight I can hear and even click around the cockpit, hit escape and hear the thing going into the menu, but have to reboot at least three times to even get back into Windows. Did not have this issue during alpha at all. Hello captains, (sorry for my bad english) I just finish to install FS2020 and i have 2 problems. The first one : i have a kind of radar, with blue color on the right of my screen. It appears in the menu game and when i fly. I reset all my settings but nothing change.. Do you know what it is and how can i delete this. (I play with my Xbox pad until i get my real stuff) The second is about my flaps : when a press the button to active the flaps, they don't want to set in place.. When i do manualy in the cockpit it's the same.. ( I precise i'am in the right speed to active my flaps). Very difficult to land without my flaps open.. Is it a bug ? thank you f…

If you're a registered member of the Plan-G forums you now have the ability to download the latest alpha available build of Plan-G for MSFS 2020. The instructions to get it running are rather simple (you have to have the SDK installed and copy the 64bit simconnect.dll to the Plan-G folder) and it performs as expected for an alpha.. I had no issues building the database, and it connecting with ease to the simulator. It's a bit laggy (as expected for an alpha) but right clicking a VOR and setting my nav radio to that freq worked.. Happy camper.. This isn't some secret I'm exposing. Looking to 3D render glass cockpit like elements. Tried putting in a canvas element in an html gauge and then getting the WebGL context, no luck. Read a lot of discussions here on WASM/WASI and though people mention the sim’s WASM runtime might ship with GL bindings I found nothing of the sort, it seems that 2D rendering is the only thing supported, its backend being fsRender and other methods being made available on the WASM env at runtime... Does anyone have any further info?

I read posts on MSFS Forums where PMDG says that the new platform MSFS is not ready for advanced aircraft as PMDG, yet. Maybe it will be in 6 - 12 months. Has anyone heard anything more about this? It means we have to wait at least 6 month before PMDG and FSL present a decent aircraft = Not good.

So holding win+g opens xbox gamebar. It has several nifty features it seems that are somewhat similar to the chat and voice functions of steam. However, none of my friends that I have in MSF are listed in the xbox friends list. Why are they different?

Hello, First I would like to make the "upper cockpit" view my standard view as i don't really like and need the actual standard camera. Has anyone a tip for me how to achieve that? I know there is a cameras.cfg but haven't found the right entries yet. Second i am looking for a Keybind to reset the view to the standard camera but can't figure out which command that is. Any help appreciated!

Finally have my old favorite moving map back. FSUIPC uses the MSFS simconnect which no longer stutters. You will need a license key for Wide FS Server 7 on your client. Responds much faster for me than in FSX or P3dV5. Bob

I followed a user advice to make a new camera and altered the camera.cfg by mistake, must have mixed the backup, now the Airbus shows. o cockpit How can I delete or re install from MS just the Airbus or must I do a full re-install? thanks
