Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I've just updated Win10 V 2004 to V 2009 (19042.508) Fs 2020 runs like before ! After updating, Windows update found 2 new updates. Windows is often really strange ! I upgraded before Windows decided to do it, I do not want to wait for a startup or shutdown when I want to start or close W10 ! You can safely upgrade your Pc ! (right now, you have to install the update from Ms ISO )

I’m new to Sim Flying and have a Saitek Yoke and Throttle. I’ve lately seen the Thrustmaster Airbus Edition joystick and throttle panel. are these new for MSFS? are they any good? What’s the best and also best value for money joystick and throttle system?

Hello guys, Maybe it was asked before but I could not find it, how to I get rid of these scenery spikes or artifacts? (screenshot is from EDDN). My settings are on Ultra/High and I am using 4K (anything else looks not so good on my 4K monitor). My internet connection is with stable 200Mbit/s.

Like many people I have been using the sim VFR due to various issues with default GPS, Airliner performance etc etc. Anyway I recently bought the Carenado Mooney and just finished a flight from LOWS to LOWI. Everything just sort of clicked tonight, I planned the flight using Navigraph imported the flightplan into Little NavMap. Imported the flight plan into the Sim and flew the route pretty darn close matching all IFR restrictions. You know one of those flights where everything just clicks! For those of us lucky enough to have a fast (100Mb/s or greater) and reliable internet connection, what would the IDEAL cache size be? I have experimented with large (500MB) and smaller (64MB) but was wondering if Asobo had any specific recommendations for this? I have found that (only very) occasionally when I do get stutters, pausing the sim for 30 seconds to a minute seems to resolve the issue. If you have noticed a particular setting has been more optimal than others, I would be interested. I am posting this video to show a problem I found with the TBR 930 in MSFS 2020. I cannot engage the Auto Pilot, and the Aileron trim is definitely non functional. Any ideas what's going on?

Not sure if this is an issue with the sim, or the flybywire mod of the 320 (running the new 0.30 release). Just landed at KOAK and got told to taxi to GA parking. No option for gates. Went back to the planning screen after and there are plenty of gates for starting points. Any ideas?

You are maybe familiar with computers and the "I can make this work" syndrome. If not, here is how this syndrome works. One of the minimum requirements for the Install and Running of MSFS2020 stated is internet download speed of 5/mbs. Well, my internet access speed was 3.2/mbs, but "I can make this work!" Using Steam, 427 hours later, I still couldn't get past the 18 gig download landmark. Spent hours reading anything google would pull up about conning the download dilemma. A total of 7 times involving un-installing and clearing all traces of MSFS2020 (not to mention trying countless, really weird suggestions). Over a terabyte written to the new SSD it was to instal…

Today 21-Sept I took the A320 for a flight. I do like the visuals but why do the windows have so many scratches???? If pilots are bored, during cruise, do they take their keys and start scratching the windows? Like the subway??😑 PS: Check the winds and weather....nice fixing Asobo!😰

The User Interface used in MSFS currently is clearly aimed at Xbox users. The biggest clue to this is the size of the click boxes in the simulator. Because the cursor movement on an Xbox is driven by a joystick rather than a mouse (which is quicker and more accurate than an Xbox controller Joystick), thus bigger response boxes are required for the Xbox version. That is a good indicator. It also explains why the UI for PCs is less than optimal. Things like the MSFS included controllers where only some switches and buttons can be used according to MS dictates is clearly not satisfactory. Hi All, first thing, i was astonished about today, was my missing Orcas-Scenery when starting my first flight today from there. After trying to check the content-manager, there is no ORCAS and my Marketplace is not availble (grayed out option). Whatched the forums for 6 hours now, but there occurs no other thread: Am i the only one ? What can be the reason ? Need some sleep now, and hoping for hints/ideas for tomorrow... Hi, Has anyone had the Garmin PFD display on the instrument panel go blank all of a sudden on some aircraft (Cessna 172, King Air). I've had this problem every time that I fly these planes. I take off and after 2-3 minutes, all displays go blank at once. Is this a product of something that I'm doing wrong, or not doing? Any input would much appreciated. Thanks.

Hello, Can we add a screenshot/video recording function to a button of the joystick we use ? I'm using "Alt F1" for screenshots, "Alt F9" for video recording, from my keyboard. I would like to use button 1 from my joystick for video capture and button 8 for screenshots ! Thanks in advance.

So I am starting my attempt to fly round the world in the Airbus. Initially I looked at starting at Heathrow and looked at what I thought was the range circle in the world map and chose a destination towards the end of it. In this case Sochi where the Grand Prix has just happened. Well I managed to get in site of the Sochi runway about 10nm out and then the plane became a glider as the fuel ran out and all the systems shut down. I thought I would try somewhere a lot closer, Kiev fitted the bill. I have just come off the flight there and only had 9% of fuel left. When setup the flight plan there is no option for how much fuel and I start my flights from the end of the run…

I'm using FSUIPC (for assigning my controllers) and Xmapsy (to connect SkyDemon on Adroid tablet). During filgt in C172 tofay I was twice disconnected from SimConnects - both FSUIPC-assigned controls and Xmapsy postition transfer to SkyDemon stopped working. I restarted FSUIPC, it helped, but 15 min. later the issue returned, this time FSUIPC was restared twice by me, so seems like SimConnect just reconnected, no matter the FSUIPC restart. I'm using 1.8.3.0 with supposedly fixed SimConnect. Hi all, There is something common on nearly all add-on sceneries I see released in MSFS. At least all the "converted" airports show a granular texture pattern which is unrealistically glued on top of the ground textures. The result is not realistic for two reasons. First, it looks like the taxiway paint is under this layer instead of being on top of the surface. Second this granular effect is in all surfaces imitating the same type concrete while failing to replicate other type of surfaces, like big flat square tiles often seen in airports. I Believe it's in one of the very first videos we can see an A320 been pushed back in KLAX. There's even a proper pushback truck and since MS and ASOBO said they monitor this group, I would make a suggestion that they take a good look at Better Pushback in X-Plane, on how it should be done. Both GSX and UGCX has a pushback feature, but they're more difficult to set up in my opinion, so unless MS have found a better and easier way, I think Better pushback is the best of the three "contenders". What do you guys think, how would you like to see this feature made?

Here's a weird issue that started up in the last couple of days in MSFS. I'm using the King Air 350i. In this video there are two segments of cold and dark startup. The first segment is the cold and dark startup with the hardware that is connected to the sim and have been mapped. Yes, I verified that my devices are functioning (saitek throttles, saitek switch panel, ch products yoke.)You will see that the right engine fails to start despite following the procedures to get the engines to start. OK trying to work out if this is me not understanding or whether I have an issue with a system problem. I fly a lot around certain areas in the UK because of using OnAir a lot for my flight generation and some of those airports have an ILS which MSFS also have. (there are a number of airports that should have an ILS but don't, but that is a seperate issue) I set-up my flightplan to use the ILS prior to departing and I get a nice GPS route to intercept this.. I fly the route and get lined up on approach which ATC have given me and the height they have given me and switch to Approach mode well in advance of the last beacon on the route... and my aircraft only …

Hello I have downloaded the livery megapack. Many liveries come with a painted tail number (directly in the texture), I don't want/need another tail number on top of it. So I set "Show tail number" to OFF in the ATC options. However, it doesn't seem to work as I always have the "ASX320" tail number showing (for the A320). Any guess how I should proceed ? Thanks
