Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Hi, I have made several short flights from KTPA to KMIA. The flightplan calls for the runway 9R ILS approach into Miami. On all flights I never get a ILS frequency displayed in the NAV RAD page. I get the LOC course and can NOT manually input the ILS frequency. I have the following display on the NAV RAD page: ILS09 / [ ], but now frequency. This page should auto populate when I select the approach?? I have the LS switch ON, I have the approach confirmed in the PERF page. Thanks for suggestions

Hi, I cannot get the instrument-gauge illumination to work in the Cessna 152, only the flood Lightning. I presume it does have instrument lighting? When turning, there are these awful moving reflections in the side windows of the Cessna. They are probably realistic but prevent me from looking properly outside. Is there a way to turn these off without affecting the overall reflection rendering in the sim? Thanks!

I cannot get apps that communicate with MSFS20 via Simconnect to work. Apps include FS2Crew A320, Rex Weather Force 2020, LittleNavMap and Pushback Helper. I uninstalled MSFS20 and deleted all its folders and verified nothing was left over by searching the Registry for anything with name Flight Simulator and Simconnect. I do have Simconnect installed for P3D v5 but don't see how that would interfere with MSFS20. So my question is: 1.) I know some of these apps have their own Simconnect but how do I know if the MSFS20 Simconnect is installed and active? 2.) Do I need to install the SDK in order for Simconnect to work? 3.) Is there a way to adjust the take off trim on the TBM 930. Hovering over the yoke there is a trim tool tip, but I can't seem to be able to do anything with the button, i.e., change the trim values. Thanks

My positive post for the day 🙂 Just had an awesome flight in my TBM from LEMH (Menorca) to EGVN (Brize Norton) in On AIr. Everything went like a dream... taxi, take-off, using A/P, ATC, descent, ILS approach and one of my smoothest landings yet in the TBM and taxi to parking.. Just an awesome 3 hours just enjoying the scenery as the sun slowly went down. My internet connection speed is very slow. Takes about three days to download MSFS 2020. Had it working fine until I had a hard drive failure whereas I lost everything. Got a new computer and tried to download again and got up to about 70% when the download stopped and Windows started downloading some other update. Not associated with the sim. Attempting to download a third time and got up to 35% when it backed up to 27%. Let it keep on downloading and got up to 33% and now it backed up to 27% and increasing again. What don't I understand about RNAV or GPS approaches and how they are implemented in the G1000 as modeled in the DA62? I was trying to fly the RNAV (GPS) Y Rwy 34 approach to KBLI. I was on the 74° course from ZONUV (IAF), which is 8 NM WSW of TUBTY, which is the IF for the approach. Jeppesen, as shown in Navigraph, shows a crossing of TUBTY at 3,000' with a heading of 334° to a straight in landing on Rwy 34 at KBLI. That is what the FPL showed before I activated it. I have bought the boxed versuib of Premium de Luxe. Installing took a while, and at the end it asked for the key, I did add the key, and it then tells that it is going to install the pre-order version. Why? After that when I want to start the game it is bugging me with an Xbox Game account. Can I use the game with that? I do not even own an Xbox, nor do I plan one. Before I buy something, I always get some information on internet first. Here on Avsim I find a lot of helpful information about MSFS. Easy to make a decision. Then I wanted to see what people say on the MSFS forum (forums.flightsimulator.com). But if you don't have an account, you don't get access. Does MS have something to hide? First my PC Spec, 4790k@ 4.6, 16GB DDR3 and a 1070 Setting, I thought I might be really pushing it to get smooth and hold 30 FPS, nope! Live weather I made RTSS show FPS so you could see, FPS locked at 30. Random screen shots. The world is a wonder thing to explore in MSFS.

Im interested in this setup for when FS2020 finally becomes usable with it . If you own this can you please share your experience?

After enjoying lots of GA VFR flying, I’m starting to wrap my head around airline IFR flying. I’ve been reading up on ILS, STARs, SIDs, airways, etc. I’ve been playing around with some flight planning... You can select your runway, approach, transition, etc. In MSFS you can go gate to gate of course... and never speak to ATC. But I suspect that’s not realistic at all. So one question that pops to mind is... does an airline flight plan typically include the approach specifics? Or just enough to get the plane to a waypoint where ATC takes over? Is the approach determined and communicated by ATC as you near your destination based on weather, winds, etc? Or how d…

Where do the COM radios normally get tuned in the a320? I ask because while I can do it manually with the radio panels next to the throttle, I noticed using the ATC menu they don't change unlike something like the TBM. I'm assuming in the FMC somewhere but I can't find a working page? The NAV/RAD page only seems to be for nav radios. So, not sure if using the radio panels is correct or?

I suggest everybody to try them, having lot of fun in the Balkans on my way to taste a nice suvlaki with tzatziki in one tabepna of Santorini. Not really a challenge since orientering is quite easy, but this guided tours are very well done. I hope some free or DLC new missions will come in the future.

A new developer called 'EuropeM' has some landmarks products of 3 European cities listed for sale on Simmarket. To me it looks like a cash grab from unsuspecting buyers of the same Google Earth assets that have been repackaged as freeware and hosted on other sites. In 9 days, they have created what takes better-known developers like Drzewiecki Design, Prealsoft and SamScene months or even years to achieve. Here are some bugs I've identified with the MSFS Baron 58: When using rudder trim, the trim percentage is not shown when hovering over the trim wheel. This works properly for aileron trim however. When using the Garmin 1000NXi to manually tune com frequencies, it sometimes skips frequency intervals. For example, using the fine tune knob I tried to tune to 118.370, but could only get either 118.365 or 118.375. When customizing tail number and callsign, the custom tail number does not appear on the tail. Leaning the fuel mixture doesn't appear to change the engine temps or fuel usage. This is first time trying after patch 2, I loaded it up and it started me mid flight (must have been where I finished). Landed at designated airfield come to a stop but the sim doesn't recognise that I have finished the leg? Pre patch a pop up appeared to confirm. Am I doing something wrong or is this broke? Thanks
