MSFS Baron 58 Bugs

Featured Replies

Here are some bugs I've identified with the MSFS Baron 58:

  • When using rudder trim, the trim percentage is not shown when hovering over the trim wheel. This works properly for aileron trim however.
  • When using the Garmin 1000NXi to manually tune com frequencies, it sometimes skips frequency intervals. For example, using the fine tune knob I tried to tune to 118.370, but could only get either 118.365 or 118.375.
  • When customizing tail number and callsign, the custom tail number does not appear on the tail.
  • Leaning the fuel mixture doesn't appear to change the engine temps or fuel usage. So, I'm at a loss on how to properly lean the mixture.

That being said, I'm enjoying exploring both the Baron and MSFS.

How about;

  • No Altitude preselect knob.
  • As with all other piston aircraft there is no EGT gauge. You cannot lean the mixture without this gauge. I have just set automixture on for now until they fix this.
  • MFD/PFDs can't be dimmed, they are way too bright at night.

The Steam gauge 172 has a EGT. You can technically lean based on fuel flow, not correct but you can do it.

OK. Good. I wondered if I was going blind. I spent 15 min trying to find the altitude set knob.

Funny the Cirrus does not lean at all! Pulled the Mixture back and watched the fuel flow not even budge let alone engine cut out!

SAR Pilot. Flight Sim'ing since the beginning.

I've submitted many of these through Zendesk already, but not all, and I think the more the merrier. No problem starting a thread here to discuss it, but please also make sure you log it in Zendesk if you hope to ever see it fixed...

Add another one:

  • Cowl flaps don't seem to make any noticeable difference to engine temps.

ha just spent 30 mins looking for altitude knob!  So how is the AP meant to work without this?  Do you just have to hit ALT when reaching desired altitude??

You can dim the MFD/PFD, there are four knobs to the right of the mixture levers....

The Altitude knobs was knocked off during a rough landing in a thunderstorm.

Yes for now pretend it is only equipped with alt hold. 😉  Or you can assign keyboard or joystick buttons for that function .

Thanks, seems buggy as hell anyway.  After fannying about for an hour the sim crashed over the Irish Sea when I was fiddled with the FPL through the PFD grrrrr......

Thanks I did not see them. Have you found any for the TBM?

I guess you could if you had the performance tables then maybe. But I have seen the fuel flow go up as I lean. Still a mess.
