Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

My goal is to make a flight from EPSC (Szczecin) to EDDT (Tegel) in MSFS2020 in VR and in the most economic way which is possible. According to the planes manual it should use 6.8 Gallons avgas on 8500f with 65% throttle @115 knots. As im more used to L/100 Km, this should translate to 12.1 Liter for 100Km, although avgas is more costly than car gas here in europe, with round about 30cent to 50 cent more per L, according to the data of EPSC airport (I calculated 21€ for 100km with the price at epsc @ 1.75€ per liter). I know they are working on their own autopilot and that managed descent and climb is pretty useless at the moment, but does anyone else have it where when descending via v/s at say -1800, it will randomly switch to an open descent and zip down at around -3000? I fix it by switching back but it is pretty annoying. Anyone else have this? Also, can anyone tell me what the improvements have been on the latest dev mods from the latest stable version?

I’ve seen a few posts lamenting the lack of a TOD pause capability in MSFS so I put together a FSUIPC7 Lua script (PauseMSFS_TOD.lua ) which will pause MSFS at a user specified time (in minutes, 1 to 999) after the script is run. So this Poor Man’s script does not detect an actual TOD, but requires the user to estimate the time to TOD. In addition, due to current limitations of the MSFS SDK/SimConnect there is not a real good way for a user to enter the desired pause time into a Lua script. the repaints as awesome as they are, they are wrecking the sim... started having CTD's A320 complete shut down mid flight, on cold and dark will not do anything etc etc and i only installed a handful 28 to be exact 6 a320, 3 747's, 3 787's and rest Cessna and one cj4... restarted sim, restarted PC tried all started crashing on flight plan window, i was ready to reinstall the entire game and w10, well just before i deleted all the liveries.. and guess what no more crashes, no more shut down mid flight on a320 cockpit works like it should... worked like a charm !!!! in order to still have other then asobo a320 i replaced the few texture files main dir of the …

Does anyone know of a simple msfs2020 editor, so that I can change the annoying blue lights on storks. As I understand it, they are mainly for Airports that have deep snow, and as 90% of my flying is done in the UK. I would like to have more European style lights for Taxi ways and Runways. I have an image on my computer of the lights in question, but can't see a way of uploading it. Many Thanks Paul

Hi to all, Forgive me if i am at the wrong forum, but this is my first visit. Can anybobody help me with this item?: I downloaded and installed the Garmin3000 modification v0.2.0 into the community folder of MSFS2020. It works on the TBM930, but not completely.. My MFD shows track, airports etc but the bakground stays black. No terrain color will show.The selectionkeys on the touchpad do not work. Neither can I toggle between In or Hpa as altitude units. thanks for your help, André

I know the working title CJ4 incorporates a checklist on the MFD, but I like to have it printed to study when not flying. I know I could make screenshots and then copy by hand, but hoping to save me some manual work. So my ask if anyone has a pdf or doc, or whatever version to share?

So I see parameters for cloud layers and wind, but how does one change the visibility in the custom weather section? As a side question, the pressure is displayed in hectopascals. How does one make it default to standard pressure?

A quick and boring question: Where can I find a tutorial for this airplane? About setting up flight plans in the FMS? I am not able to use MSFS flight planning with this aircraft. OK for me, I have been able to enter FPLs in the FMS, but I have to fly VFR. Is there a work around this?

When you click on a random location on the map and load the sim, just using the drone, how can you find the way to a known place ? No map, no instruments, just the nature 🙂 Suggestion welcomed ???

Without going and loading up each aircraft, is there a way to see what features each has? Like instruments, which have steam, which have glass and which glass? Maybe other features? Which have de-icing , which have variable pitch props, etc? Anyone made a list or spreadsheet?

I have always had roaming cache on and have never touched manual cache. I have had issues with the "melted" looking buildings in large cities and photogrammetry not loading as well. I youtubed some video on manual cache and from what I understand is that you "download" an area that you would like and it would enter that data into the sim before you fly there. Is that correct? So in theory, if I am flying from Chicago to St. Louis and I want all of Chicago cached and all of St. Louis, I would paint those regions, let it enter the sim and then go fly? Shouldn't that help fix my issue of areas not loading? What does roaming do differently? Is that just automatically e…

I’m using the CH yoke, throttle quadrant, and pedals for MSFS, but I haven’t quite found the sweet spot for sensitivity on the pedals. Mainly, I’m finding control on the runway (mostly during takeoff) to be rather erratic. Can anyone post a screenshot of their settings if they are happy with the way they are working?

What are some good landing rate monitors out there? I use one that is called Zees but it is a coin flip on whether or not it captures my landing. Any others?

Hello and thanks for your time. I used to use MSFS2004 frequently but kind of lost interest in it. MSFS2020 looks too good to ignore and I plan on getting it. I wanted to clear up my hard drive first and would like to know if my MSFS2004 add-ons, such as FS Genesis, FS Navigator, PC Aviator's NY Scencery and FS Flight Sschool Pro 2014 have any value when using 2020. I think Flight School has a new version for 2020 and have to look into that but what about the others. And I guess I'll uninstall MSFS2004 also. Any thoughts? Thanks, Dave Schwartz

I was flying today and the winds were knocking me all over the place (it was in a Cub so that didn't help. I was tempted to hit Shift+Z to see what the conditions were, then remembered that doesn't work anymore. It was bad enough that after making a terrible landing the wind flipped my little plane over.

How exactly does one go about changing the transponder code in the CJ4? And how do you get the autopilot to follow the flight plan laterally? Using backcourse?
