Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I thought it was a one off fluke. A320 NEO I give operating the radio to the first officer and about 20 miles from the arrival airport he announces to ATC "flight plan cancelled " why would he want do that ?? anyway it has happened twice again. This is not every flight so I know it can be completed successfully, but before I can correct this myself I have been caste adrift by ATC. and there is no option to re-engage the original flight plan, has anybody else had this or is it something I must have done. Tis a mystery 🙄 In future I am going to have to operate the radio myself, bit of a fag to that really.

This is driving me bonkers and I cannot get the various fixes I've read to work. For example, with the Asobo Cessna 152 I've downloaded repaints where the painter permanently painted the registration and the Asobo "dynamic" registration doesn't appear, and on other repaints (like N1787Q, a very sharp livery) the Asobo registration comes shining through no matter what? What is/are the secret(s) of what needs to be changed in the aircraft.cfg (or elsewhere?) to hide Asobo's dynamic registrations completely? Thanks, Steve

I am about to pull the trigger on a new build and have 2 specific to MSFS questions... 1) The i9-10900K says it has a speed of 3.7 GHZ but a turbo speed of 5.2 Ghz. My now ancient PC has a speed of 4.0 turbo to 4.2....will the new one basically run at 5.2 Ghz in CPU limited situations? I don’t want to spend $2400 on a build that is slower, if that makes sense? 2) The card will be a RX 6800 (not an XT) vs the 3080 because after seeing nothing but blurries in XP11 with my 1070 8GB card in True Earth areas aka anything that is Ortho and nice looking I’m very fearful that 10GB won’t be enough. I am new to this sim, so I’m still trying to figure out what it can, and can’t do. Although the VNAV function does not seem to work (at least with default aircraft), I’ve discovered that there is a limited VNAV capability with RNAV approaches. I’m still researching this (and I would greatly appreciate any insight others may provide), but I have found that in many cases, a vertical glide path exists that can be captured and flown down to the threshold by pressing the APR button (I’m testing this with the default Bonanza and Baron). I am ordering a Dell Alienware R11 but I don't know which is best -- a duel NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 2080 SUPER 8GB GDDR6 or a NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 10GB GDDR6X. Had to get an image hosting account for this one(my old Photobucket account apparently doesn't allow hosting anymore). After a few days in a row of CTD on approaches usually 1-3NM from airport(and 1 CTD midflight) this flight from the screenshots didn't CTD. Previous 3 of 4 flights did. Afterwards moved everything out from community folder and have been adding older stuff back in. Haven't had a CTD since. This flight started with low clouds and rain in Portland, OR. (KPDX). Has anyone figured out how to create a flightplan, say in LittleNavMap and then importing it into a G1000 equipped airplane, like the C172?

Good day everyone and a happy new year! With Clouds set to ultra I am seeing the mentioned issue especially flying through high altitude clouds or sometimes when looking outside the side windows at certain angles. So for example i am cruising at FL330 and i am entering a layer of high clouds the sim starts to stutter when i pan to the left (or right; seems to be random) and as soon as i reser the view forward its smooth again. Also the "amount" of cloud does not matter as a small single Cu can have the same effect as a thick layer. Has anyone else oberved this and/or a clue on what might be causing this? Hi All, I have the Elite Simulation AP4000 Com/Nav module which I have used successfully with FSX and P3D. I have just seen the modules are now compatible with MSFS, I can’t seem to find a driver for the sim. Has anyone got the module and has it working with MSFS? If so can anyone give me any pointers. thanks

Ok guys, so I'm scratching my head with this one, I've updated the mod with the installer as recommend, flew okay the day before yesterday aside from an issue with the APU, which I'll get into, but today it seems to have got substantially belly up. I've removed all liveries and traces of the mod and fresh installed the stable release about 3 times with no luck. The main issue is the ND displaying a red arc and it does not track heading, IRS is aligned as per usual. Second issue is that no matter what, the APU is always running, I hit the batteries and ext power, and the APU avail will be there, even though I have not hit the master yet. Is anyone having…

Okay, this may seem like a dopey question, but how do I get to the NY tour? Sometimes it seems to come up on the welcome screen, but usually it doesn't. So if I want to select it, is that possible? Or do I just have to hope for the best?

When I make a flight plan as created by FS how can I pick the runway that will land me into the wind ? sometimes it's ok but other times if I select the first ILS choice runway I land with a tail wind. Do we get to choose or is it just luck ? Been flying for about a month what an awesome experience the FFS is.

Hi, I also have the latest version of FBW and have the problem that I getting a CTD with the message that Simconnect failed to call dispatch. Does anyone have an ideal what I can do, I miss flying a decent twin. Thanks so much Bernd

I am not able to see ice on the windows of A320NX FBW (or default A320N), while I can see icing on the fuselage and rest. Any suggestions ?? Thanks.

I find it really odd that there are mods to fix problems that people who never modded their systems in the first place don't have. For example, I see a lot of complaints about tree view distance but my non modded system looks just fine to me. I think people unknowingly cause their own problems sometimes.

Flight plan programmed, first officer is handling the radio, he suddenly says about 20 miles from Birmingham UK he says IFR flight plan cancelled, why would he say that ? I have to continue the flight with no ATC.no option to reinstate the flight plan.This is not the first time this has happened from Bristol to Brum, weird or what ??

So I fire up the sim this morning, it hangs on the Monument Valley screen for about ten minutes, then the "Press any key to start" screen comes up with all the beautiful watermasks and graphics. Things are still loading with a black screen and the circle spinning down and the lower right...its been another ten minutes. Is my sim possessed? Bennett

Runway 03/21 has a large trench ( or opening) across the entire r/w closest to the start of 21 with the obvious result of aircraft damage

Does anyone know any third party apps to record what inputs are giving to the airplane? I know little Nav maps tells altitude and shows your course on a map but I would love it if it would tell me every little thing along the way so I can look at a leg and see what airspeed, altitude, navigation deflection, what switches are on or off and so on. It would make judging your chair flying so much better.

Hi everyone I'm using EDTracker for headtracking. I can set the ED tracker X and Y axis to camera yaw and pitch in the settings just fine, which is great! The problem is, ingame, instead of moving the camera just the distance of my head, it treats it like a continuous input. IE, moving my head up moves the camera up but I have to centre my head again to stop it from continuing to pitch up. Does anyone know how I can get FS2020 to just use the absolute motion of my head rather than treat it as continuous motion?

I thought this new update today was going to give us real weather. That is, if there is snow on the ground in reality, there would be snow on the ground in the sim. Well, I know there's lots of snow on the ground in my location, but after running the sim, the ground is nice and green. What's the deal with the real weather update in this new update? Stan
