Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I don't have much added, but following the install instructions of the (freeware) developers, I have found some differences. Some Add-On Folders contain an additional Subfolder some others do not. So the structure looks like: Community (Folder) Add-On Title (Folder) Another Title (Folder) ContentInfo (Folder) Scenery (Folder) layout.json ... vs Community (Folder) Add-On Title (Folder) ContentInfo (Folder) Scenery (Folder) layout.json ... This seems to be a bug with MSFS. The Beechcraft Baron won't recognize an altitude set if you are using anything other than a pressure altitude of 29.92. This means that if you are using live weather, and the pressure is set to say, 30.21, the plane will level off above the altitude you set, and never reach it. Conversely, the TBM has no issue with nonstandard pressure.

I don't know if I'm missing something, but this morning I downloaded for free from Flightsim.to a version of the Midway Airport (KMDW) in Chicago (very small size, around 420 KB, with default textures and objects). Honestly, the airport is very well done, and I understood it was a WIP. This afternoon, several minutes ago, there's apparently a similar payware version (looks like it's the same) of KMDW available at SimMarket (https://secure.simmarket.com/arif-studio-chicago-midway-airport-kmdw.phtml). Realistic scenery is one of the biggest advantages of MSFS, but there is one weak point: mountains. The mountains of MSFS look too smooth and rounded compared with other sims and Google Earth. At first I thought It's because MSFS was using low resolution terrain mesh. So I waited eagerly for the Japan and US world update which significantly increased the terrain mesh up to the incredible 1m resolution. After the update I took several flights to some mountain areas, and to my disappointment I can find no perceivable improvement anywhere. Hi All Pardon my ignorance, I'm struggling to solve this and it's probably a VERY easy fix. Anytime I fly in icing conditions with the A320 and CJ4 the aircraft ices up. Visible ice shows on the note/body of the aircraft. I turn on wing and engine anti-ice and it remains visible. Any ideas on what I am missing?

All I see is a window outline and the Nose gear in the gear bay, nothing else. It's like Wonder women's jet. Anyone else have this issue?

Does anyone know if both of these can be on simultaneously? For example I have a few regions downloaded that are manually cached such as New York City. If I were to have both rolling cache enabled along with manual cache will the sim be smart enough to know not to download any data when I fly over New York City, and when I'm out of the area it will switch over to rolling cache?

Is there a quick way to get a view of the overhead panel in the WT A320 Neo ? I have a heck of a time trying to move around and view the overhead panel "head-on". Dave Hinson

I was wondering if there is any external software available (it might be even not MSFS-related), where you could create your own aircraft checklists, and then in sim - using a shortcut key - its individual items would be read aloud? That would be a great tool to get rid of paper checklists (which I am still a fan of) and increase the immersion a bit. Such e-checklists could be then edited to add/remove items as you wish. Perhaps someone found such software already? (I was even thinking to find an app on my Android-based phone). The idea was born in my head when I read about the A320 FS2CREW software, but their checklists cannot be edited and adjusted to one's own requirem…

Hi everyone, I wanted to try the latest FBW Custom flight model on the A320 landing Challenges but when i select them I got a message saying: "ITEM NOT DOWNLOADED: One or more required items are missing. Go to the Content manager to download them. When I go to the Content Manager and i tick all the items, it doesn't offer me to download anything. Even if I uninstall the A32NX, I have got the same problem. The non-A320 Landing Challenges work normally. Do you guys experience the same issue?

Flew from Kona to PHNL tonight. Game ATC seemed more crazier than usual. Seemed to me like some commands were missing or I missed (don't think so). Think its passed time to drop the game ATC and fly without or just do VATSIM. Duane

Has anyone gotten a linear response from there rudder pedals and if so what setting and please help. I have literally tried every sensitivity setting and it appears it has no difference what so ever other than delaying the response to full right or left rudder. I can change the travel so that as I get closer to the end it goes to full deflection or I can have full deflection at first movement but regardless of what I do it full deflection always. Is this how it is as I cant use them as rudders??????? If I could complete a flight it might be cool. Sure looks pretty and lots to learn but if I cant fly its useless to me. Hi Everyone, I will have my new PC later this month, as I prepare to dive into MSFS, I have noticed many complaints concerning CTD and there seems to be a connection with addons...the community folder and re-install etc. I am very confused by what I have read and want to make sure I install everything correctly to hopefully avoid any CTD's. There have been no issues using weather Presets, and the Live Weather feature seems to work fairly well. However, I've never been able to get the custom weather settings to work at all. Cloud heights are always wrong Winds are never what I entered There is no entry for BP In the last test I set a specific wind direction so I could test a particular ILS only to have a tailwind and traffic landing in my face!

Hello, Folks! Sorry if same topic was already discussed but could not find the solution. As I understand, the problem is a common thing. I have noticed that my ground textures are not fully loaded. The houses look like melted. Any advice on how to solve this? The internet speed is ok. In the data settings I have rolling cache 50 GB created. But general data usage shows 180GB... Maybe I have to clean something?

Flew a few legs of the Patagonian bush trip. However, on leg 7 i needed to break off my flight due to urgent matters so i quit MSFS. Today i continued and found myself in the air at the point where i did have to quit the other day. The Nav Log then shows the different parts to be flown until the end, however, the text that comes with each part still to be flown starts on the first part of leg 7, not the part i was flying. So after flying some parts of that leg 7 flightplan again, i did quit again and the same thing happened, on re-entry i was where i left off just before, the part of the flightplan still to be flown on leg 7 was correct but the text had shifted …

When ever I used / talked to ATC I would have a 0.2 - 0.5 second stutter FPS would drop by 2 for 1 second, it was always when they finished and the Kkkkk sound or just before the sound but you get the idea. I changed this setting and now problem solved.
