Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

As the title says...since MSFS was released i flew almost every day using live weather and even though i flew intentionally through what i thought was a rainshower i didn't get any rain effects on the windshield till now. All effects settings are set to ultra. Am i missing something here? Best regards, Tom

The tiny Aerolite has only a few gauges, no auto pilot. But let's say I fly another plane without even using the autopilot once. And then quit that flight and start a flight with the Aerolite, the auto pilot can be on. It will fly strangely until I hit the Z key which sets things right. I'm beginning to think some planes have autopilots in their configuration files, even if they don't have one on the panel. So a plane without an AP anywhere on the panel still reacts when pressing the Z key as if it did. Every time it starts to fly strangely, pressing Z will correct the issue immediately.

Hi Not yet a MSFS user but keen to know if I can use the default GNS 430 in the C152, I know its not included in the cockpit layout but perhaps the features could be used anyway. Why I want to know is because I am building a hardware cockpit with a Realsimgear Garmin430 unit and want to use it as com1 in the 152, preferably also with the GPS features. So I only need the features from it and not the actual visual unit. Hope you guys understand what I mean 😁

I have 4 settings in my flightyoke that don`t work anymore. Unplugged/ plug-in. Hi all, I've got a weird control issue that seems limited to the 747 and A320. Basically I have a kind of "dead zone" in the middle of my roll control that makes it very difficult to control these aircraft. In small aircraft (Cessna, Bonanza, King Air etc) my joystick gives a 1:1 correlation with the aircraft controls. This can be seen in the link below where I go from full left aileron to full right aileron on my joystick, and the yoke in the cockpit matches my input, i.e. immediate full to full deflection: https://imgur.com/a/uTFwlOR However, in the 737 and A320 if I go full to full deflection from left to right on my joystick, I get a kind of slow dead …

This may be user error or I need to tweak the "new" joystick settings slightly. (First time on the game in a month). Started a flight in the stock A320 but after pushback, on moving the throttle forward to taxi the AT engaged full takeoff speed and I was unable to recover - slamming the throttle on my joystick shut had no effect. Going to play with the settings a bit but open to advice if anyone else has encountered this.

I've given up trying to fix my original corrupted msf2020 installation. So I've formatted a new drive and logged into the microsoft store. It shows the purchase and that I "own" it, but I have no idea how to get the store to download the program. Does anyone have experience with this ?

(Creating this as a separate thread because it's a different plane.) Just like I did for the TBM, I've spent some time poking at the DA62 to see if I could add dimming to the G1000s. This one was easier to track down. The PFD/MFD for the G1000 use potentiometer ID 30 for their brightness by default, but that one doesn't seem to be active in the DA62 cockpit. Instead, I have assigned pot ID 3, which is the panel brightness knob, to them. This works for the two main screens, but not for the standby horizon in the middle, I'm not sure why at this point. My loading time of the sim from start to setup has gone from 10 minutes to 20 min now. I've been adding freewares so that is probably the cause. 7:43 start finished at 7:53 = 10 minutes 9:25 start finished at 9:45 = 20 minutes I've disabled many of the freewares using the linker. Is there no other way than disabling all the freewares and paywares and enabling them just when I want to fly there? Maybe I should not use all those amazing freeware cities and wait for ASOBO to update since they load dynamically unlike paywares and Freewares.. I thought maybe Once I load the fsim, I should not close my PC from the evening. I have tried it..but it does…

Hey guys, On my holiday day, I have some time to do some quality simming. I just go Premium Deluxe MSFS, and when I go to hangar in the options. I am unable to change planes besides Robin. I want to see all what is installed. I did install everything though. On other options, I do see the planes but only when I go to Hangar - that is where the 3d model of Robin is shown only. I do not know on how to change it. Thanks

I know this is anathema to all tubeliner fans, but I wish I had simple - as in default simple, 737. Don’t care if a classic -3/4/500 or NG -6/7/800. Wouldn’t have to worry about FBW being implemented correctly and just fly for fun pretending I was an airline captain! 👨‍✈️ Just for kicks without having tons to learn or when short on time...🛫

I noticed since the latest update and the latest dev mod of the FBW 320, STARS disappear from the mcdu. I’ve done 2 flights and it has happened both times. I’ll upload my plan from simbrief and pick my sids and stars in the mcdu. Both flights had them disappear during flight. One time I noticed it when atc gave me a different approach to fly into dca and the other just disappeared mid flight into LAS. I tried to re enter it and it would show up then go away. Anyone else seeing This?

Maybe it's the new 1.12.13, or something else, but the Drzewiecki Design's Seattle Landmarks looks like hell until I'm right up near buildings and then they pop into looking quite nice. I'd hope once the high quality geo has loaded it would stay loaded, but if I fly past and turn right around the super low res geo is back until I get right back up very close. The giant cranes at the port areas look SO much better than the lousy stock photogrammetry, but they seem to mostly disappear, leaving only the tops as I get close? Seems like there's no medium LODs, just super low res and full res. And the logic that controls when each LOD is used seems quite poor? Just me? Or …

Hi, is it possible? ATC window popup when message is only to you? If there is an AI traffic message it is still invisible for user, but if there is an message to you it will pop up. So like its in FSX and P3D. Thx for reply 🙂 !

I was fly B787 no so often, but now i tried it. I set only 25% of fuel and about 70% of payload. I set speed for take-off according to FMC and fly. Take-off was ok, climbing not so quick, as expected, but I reach FL270 as I wants (only short flight). But if I was in approach, I select flaps 25° and 163kt in the FMC for landing. And if I gradually extended the flaps according with the FMC, then the landing gear, the plane was not able to keep the desired speed. It slowed down until the speed was just above the stall and then the stall protection lower the nose and plane was in permanent descend about 1000ft/min. So there wasn't any chance keep the plane in horizontal path …
