Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I have bought every MS Flight Sim through the years starting with the Sub Logic one way back when up to and including FSX, then even P3D. So I am what would be called an old hand at this, maybe. But, I have no experience with any Game and have never even held a game controller. This new MSFS is way too complicated for us old guys. It has been developed by the best Game devs in the world, and it shows. It installs and operates like a game. This has been in the pipeline for many weeks. At first I did not think much of the Diamond DA62. I found it rather bland and terribly sluggish on take off. But it grew on me. It is superbly modelled by Asobo, and the flaws in performance are fixable, except FADEC which cannot be properly implemented without compromises that make it for me not worth while. But FADEC on this aircraft only controls rpm and auto run up. It already has automixture and Fadec in this case is not the be and end all. I'm posting it in this thread because I solely use the FBW A32NX mod in MSFS. I currently use a Saitek Yoke control with throttle quadrant as it's all I have. Looking for options in a joystick / sidestick. I've heard the Thrustmaster Airbus version is overpriced for what you get but at least it comes with throttle quadrant. Are there any other options out there? The Logitech X56 is more expensive than Airbus. Is it any better? not sure if it'll have engine starts, the ability to add addons like airbus and is there reversers etc The 16000M is priced very well but what do people do with thrust? do they use the tiny slider on the base of the…

I'm trying to fly my A32NX into KLAS. Tried ILS 01L, 26L and others. Using SimBrief I'm getting CLARR3 arrival into 26L but there's nor CLARR3 on my MCDU. The only C's I get are CHOWW1, COKTL1 & CRES04. The other option I've tried is via 01L which uses CLARR3 or KEPEC6 but there's no STARS beginning with K at all. How are you meant to fly into KLAS? Am I meant to just pick one and then using the plan knob and the right range look on my PFD? MCDU menu, active nav data 17-JUN-14 JUL

I am admittedly a new MS20 user. Still learning but not a complete moron. I did all the World Updates including the Nordic one yesterday. And have flown around Norway some. So today when I launch the sim, it checks for updates and re-installs the Nordic update. When I exit the program and relaunch it does the same thing every time. Keeps sucking bandwidth reinstalling the Nordic update. How does one get the sim to stop reinstalling this update? Bryan

About four months ago, I bought the Aerolite 103 for MSFS. It worked fine until about a month ago. Now it will not accelerate beyond a very slow speed and will not take off the runway? I deleted it from the Community folder and installed a fresh current copy. Still no luck. Has anyone else had similar problems or know a way to solve this problem?

Hi all, When purchasing my second copy of MSFS for my Left View client ( server has P de L ) accidentally I purchased the Standard version. As I want Amsterdam, Madrid, Frankfurt, Paris, London and Innsbruck too I immediately looked for the Upgrade version to Premium de Luxe. However, in my Microsoft Store there is no Upgrade. So I tried to buy the Upgrade from inside MSFS. Only when clicking Buy & Install I am getting a warning note saying that buying the purchase failed. ...well, one has already been released actually. The excellent bush C152 mod by SJFLY2, has now had a few more tweaks, and on top of this, now has a tail-dragger variant. Yes, a C152 tail-dragger! Hi Trying to start with MSFS which is very different from FSX... 1. Is there a possibility to avoid those initial tips and music before the options appear? 2. Just a bit of insight into the MSFS attach rate and market share in 12 months: A quick glance at the download numbers on another site gives an indication as to the attach rate MSFS has had... Most downloaded: H135 project: almost 275,000 downloads. Then there are a number of others in the 10,000-80,000 downloads range. I'd be interested how that compares to downloads of popular freeware projects in comparable sims... Doing a short test flight from KOXC to KBDL, Landing RWY ILS33. Entering flight plan in the cdu and in PROC Arrival, I select rwy 33, but I don't want any of the transitions showing to select from. But I can't select none, so how do I bypass of get rid of the transition? When I select ILS rwy 33, flight plan should take me to HADUX then to HOMEY and then land on RWY33. Thanks for any help I can get on this.

I think I know the answer but does anyone have Precision Flight Controls or Flight Deck Solutions hardware working with MSFS? I have the PFC Yoke and the Jetmaxx 737 throttle and tiller from FDS and was wondering if anyone found a way for it to work in MSFS?

Hi All I notice on the A/P panel that when you select a mode - say NAV, FD or VS - there is no light or flag on the selector to confirm active. You can see that the mode is selected in the PFD display but not on the A/P panel Is this correct Thanks

Hi, everybody, I have verified that with more active mods (airports and scenery) the fps drops. For example: with the default airport LEVC, Manises, Valencia, with airports and scenery (mesh, etc.) loaded from France, Italy, Austria and USA, I have 20-22 fps. But without any scenery addon: 30-31 fps! Therefore, it is convenient to load each time only those scenarios in which the flight is to be carried out.

Good morning, this forum is my last help. I am getting crazy. coming from the beta testing i decided to siwtch back to the official release. installation went without problems. But everytime i start msfs after the blackshark ai screen, where the castle shows up i get a ctd. There was a message relateted to ga game sync or something like this but this message disappeared now. i tried everything. deleting everything related to msfs, reinstalling, resetting the store and game pass etc. nothing works. Any „last“ idea from you, gentlemen ? thanks, Carsten

I have been using the salty compatibility mod for the cs777 for a while now, everything was fine until after the latest update of the dev version, I would love for someone to send a link to the dev version from the 15 of June 2021 as that one worked perfectly.

... work great as a replacement for my long time broken TrackIR. I used Track IR 4 for a few years, but it eventually broke beyond repair 2 years ago 😕 Bought an inexpensive EDTracker Pro ( not sold anymore :-/, but the DIY version is still available 🙂 ) and together with Opentrack I can pretty much emulate Track IR, without all of the bells and whistles, but still perfectly good for in cockpit, and out of cokpit camera control !

I have three quick questions on FSUIPC 7: 1) Am I correct that FSUIPC 7 is needed for MSFS 2020, that version 6 will not work? (i.e., for those who use FSUIPC for their mix of hardware); 2) Where do I go to download version 7? (Is this an upgrade from the paid version of 6, or is it a new purchase?) And; 3) Should it be installed before downloading MSFS 2020? Going forward, does it need to be Run before running MSFS 2020? (I understand that it no longer resided "inside" the sim). Is it possible for communications with airports to use the Airport name or an airport callsign instead of the ICAO identifier? E.g. “Raleigh traffic…” instead of “Kilo Tango Tango Alpha traffic…”?
