Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

This is new to me and what does it mean or do ?

Has anyone resolved the issue of not being able to exclude the flightsimulator.exe and other associated MSFS files from Anti-Virus software (Firewall) warnings? I purchased MSFS via the Microsoft Store.

So, after I removed the sim from the computer and let my annoyance cool down over a couple of days I figured I’d try reinstalling to see if that might fix it. Of course it did not (didn’t believe it would either TBH). I figured I’d just uninstall it again, but thought that considering I had nothing to loose, I might as well start experimenting with the in-game settings. I remember reading at the MSFS forum that some guy solved the CTDs by lowering some of the settings. Never figured this would apply to me, as the sim runs well up until CTD. Since SU5 The flight planner adds TIMECLI and TIMEDEC to the route. But the magenta line does not show them. Are these in fact real world waypoints? What are they for?

After flying the XCub a lot in the Andes to mountainous dirt strips and high altitude lakes, I want a turbo Cub ! I feel sorry for my poor default Cub labouring to climb over 12000 feet 😃.

Everything was fine,today i fly and in the middle of a flight the game crashes.I tried to fly three times and three times the sim CTD,will i have to re-nstall.

I bought my new prebuilt machine (see my sig below) on 2/2/2021 and installed MSFS soon after. Since then I have had 10 MSFS application hangs and 6 of those occurred on 8/6/2021 (not sure why) with the last on 8/19/2021. I am assuming that an application hang (event viewer) is similar or the same as a CTD. My point here is that this is a dedicated computer that is always current with the latest Windows Home updates and has only one additional application installed - MSFS. Picked up the CRJ and have made fair progress with it thus far. However, I tune the squawk code provided by MSFS ATC into the FMC and after take off ATC states that they are not receiving my squawk code and terminates my IFR flight plan. What would I be doing wrong here?

When installing do you install into the 'Community folder'?

Is there anyone out there with basic knowledge of the camera view system that could maybe help me get started? (top hat views). I fly the default C172 a lot (I think it is actually quite good for a default aircraft) and the cockpit views using the top hat switch actually line up with the cardinal points alright. But last night, I tried the X-Cub, and while left, right, and forward are alright, the rest are messed up. For instance, the view left and behind (over left shoulder), shows a completely different view inside the cabin. I have had this issue with other aircraft as well. Wondering if it's just me, since the last "update" the 172 is unstartable. Can't select fuel tanks, even having it autocomplete the checklists the engine won't start.

In msfs you have only 10 custom view slots is there a work around to be able to save more views?

Hi. In the CJ4, when I load a chart in the MFD, the toggle (Up,Down,Left,Right) switch is not working. It use to work but now it doesn't scroll. It used it to scroll the charts in the MFD so you could see the whole chart. Any idea why it's nt working? Thanks Walt (Happy Flying)

Guys I am trying to edit the speed of the Cj in 2020. What field do I adjust in the cfg?

I think this is new since last patch, or at least I never noticed. But a lot of my airfields on the world map now have a little "tool" icon bottom left. I've noticed in the Filter option "third party content" - if I untick this the icon on the associated airfield disappears. Ok great! However it seems this icon is tagged against airports I haven't downloaded 3rd party content for??

This area needs some serious attention and I really hope Asobo will work their magic to bring it to a better quality standard. Especially the southeastern portion, ie: Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan, Philippines, Hong Kong, etc. Hardly any developers are even making airports for this area. We need RKSI, RJPC, VVTS, VVDN, WKKK, VTBS, VTSP, VVNB, RCTP just to name a few. And most of those are popular and large international airports too. Pac Sim, use to make a lot of nice airports for this region in P3D/FSX. If any developers are seeing this, please take note. There's a ton of potential in this region that hasn't been touched yet.

Why is my i9-10850k going so hot with MSFS? Even it only utilizies max. 30% auf CPU power, it goes up to >85°C. Room Temp about 21-22°C. Running Cinebech for 3 minutes rises temps up about 99°C, were I have to aboard. Cooler is a Noctua D15 in a fractical design r7. Don't understand this. MSFS is only about 10°C below Cinebech temps even it only uses 70% less cpu power. I haven't changed anything on my setting, however, I remember that I could stay below 80° or slightly above with same config and SU5 at certain flights. Can someone explain?

I posted some images recently after I had tuned the graphics with GeForce Experience filters. A big improvement over what I was seeing before. However, several posters said they had tuned the Desktop Colour Settings within NVCP. I didn't want to do this as my monitor has been calibrated, so I knew the monitor was OK. I did decide to have a go with NVCP and I am stunned with the further enhancements. I also made some small edits in UserCfg.opt by changing the LODS from 5/3 to 4/4. Here is the result - details sharp out to the distance, colours and contrast much more pleasing to my eyes.

Hi all Yesterday my msfs began stopping after 3/4 of loading any plane at any airport. Community folder is empty. So I decided to uninstall and reinstall my msfs from MS-Store. After 2 1/2 hours of download --> the same, loading a stock plane at any airport and hiting Fly, it begins to load and after 3/4 of the blue line stops; I waited 1/2 hour but nothing. What can I do?
