Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Sorry guys 😉 mostly I fly classic birds with classic gauges but started to test more MSFS. On my desk now is Cirrus SR22. I can't quite figure out how some default G1000 functions work. For example this GPS path (flight plan is active). I think this path (purple, GPS path) should be able to turn by knob, so that the lines intersect. I'm on the path almost perfectly right now but it shows 3 o'clock, not 12 - I cant use any knob here to rotate these purple lines (so something like on VOR gauge). I missed something or its a bug? I noticed also few bugs with autopilot also but this is different story.

I know how to use the gps now (is there a flightplan page somewhere?), it cannot be edited in flight in believe. But I want also to use VOR in navigation, but cannot find how to select a radial and then fly it? Another question: the plane rolls great, but pitch feels...weird.. somewhat laggy. I move my X52 stick, the stick in the cockpit moves in exact sync (so that is not the cause) but the plane first doesnt react the first degrees of movement of the in-sim stick. AF…

Has anyone else experienced their G100/gps displaying...nothing? i.e. a black screen? Yes the battery/avionics masters were ON. In fact this was in a ready to fly state. Happens with ALL aircraft. And before bean sprout comes along and tells me to go to Zendesk, I've already raised a ticket! I have a little more faith in the people here tbh.

Just wondering how many are planning to test out the weather engine and give Hurricane Ida a look today? How well do you think the weather engine will depict the winds? I think i am going to fly the DC-6 through it.

Hi folks. I have not tried to use MSFS for a while until today. I have downloaded and installed all available updates. I have a Quest 2 so I throught I would play around with using VR (this is NOT a VR thread). Once I got that going I tried to load the very first training exercise. The blue progress bar took almost 15 minutes to get to the end and the training exercise never started. Assuming it had something to do with VR, I shut down all VR stuff, shut down the VR headset, and opened MSFS in regular 2D mode. I just bought this plane last night. It is taking +14.8 rudder trim setting to trim the flight to fly straight. Depending on power, prop lever rpm lever, and climb rate etc., it can take other + values in order to trim it, from 11 to 18, which seems kind of high to me. It does take off and land easily enough, regardless of where rudder trim is set, not bad at all. Still it seems odd to require a boatload of positive trim away from neutral to trim in flight.

H new pooter should be here this Wednesday and I’m gettin’ a bit excited. so, I’ve been studying the Hudson River using the SFRA procedures etc. im leaning toward neofly but I’m open to anyone of them where I could fly the whole Hudson river and back from KTEB. any career addon that would allow me to do this and log it? i would be taking off and landing at KTEB, I want to be able to track my time, do the wear n tear on my plane and make money. maybe skypark might be the answer, that’s pretty open, yes?

After SU5 I had to lower my gamma in the nVidia CP and couldn't get HDR to work on my Samsung correctly. Then I discovered the HGIG setting. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.whathifi.com/amp/advice/hgig-explained-what-is-hgig-how-do-you-get-it-and-should-you-use-it The short story is that turning it on allowed me to restore my gamma and implement HDR correctly. I'm feeling stupid but if I enable VNAV in the Daher / G3000 will the AP take me down to the waypoint at the desired decent rate or is it just informational? Seems I need to set ALT / VS regardless. Thanks bs

On Steam. Status OFFLINE. The only option I have is to SIGN OUT. I have signed out several times, then signed back in with my Microsoft email and password. Checking my status, is says Status OFFLINE again. What can I do next ?

How can I improve the cockpit lighting in the Daher TBM 930. I barely see any knobs or buttons during bad weather or when it is dark outside. There are several related topics around but they are rather old and I could not find a solution.

Apologies for the provocative sounding title. I'm looking to purchase this aircraft and hoping that is as good as the Majestic Q400 was for FSX all those years ago.. However, watching this video (https://youtu.be/aAxz9JcAOC) around 59 minutes, the pilot cannot get the efb to correctly add weight or fuel to the aircraft. Later on, when he starts the APU (@ 1:18:50), the overhead panel switch does not light up either to show that it has powered on. Also, I have read about the stuck IAS tape indicator as a result of the SU5 update but have not seen a fix mentioned. I thought I had. At the time of SU5 and the hotfix I thought I had also downloaded all updates from the Marketplace. Turns out I was wrong. When I started up yesterday I noticed that there were more updates listed, so either there were additions, the update process didn't finish or I somehow missed them. There were 19GB worth! So, I ran all of them. When I restarted I lost my freelock view right-click/hold mouse control. Now I couldn't manually use freelock to change cockpit or external camera views - everything was locked. All, I have had a sudden drop in the quality of my textures, to the point where it would appear I am off line, however I am not. Also under my log i name I have the online /offline status greyed out as well as the selection for the servers. The only thing I have done is to have gone with another ISP (Sky Fibre). Bing world graphics are on. I have not investigated Networking as I don't really know what I am looking for in relation to anything that may have changed with my new provider. Any help would be appreciated to an old andnot so computer literate guy. Thank You Nic

I plan on getting yoke, throttles and rudders. But not all at once due to obvious reasons. One being availability and the other being financial reasons. But I will start off with purchasing the yoke first. Will I be able to fly with just a yoke and no dedicated rudder pedals and throttles? That's my primary concern. How will I taxi and adjust my throttles with just a yoke?

I have Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant. Trying to assign the correct input for prop feathering without success for the C208. If I drag the lever into the detent with mouse it seems to work, but not with an assignment. Any idea? Thanks

I've actually never seen this before in MSFS, and it's only a static image, but I was pushing back at ESSA (one of the Asobo-handcrafted airports), and this plane you see at the top left of the pic taxis in, comes to a stop, the gangway, or whatever that thing is called, pulls up, catering trucks and luggage carts pull up. That's the kind of immersion I am looking for. Truth be told, the AI planes look a little janky, but still.

Hello, Since the new update, the behavior seem to have changed a bit. When I use the mouse to look around in the cockpit, the game stops responding to joystick inputs, until I release the right mousebutton again. Anybody else have the same thing?

So i just bought a New Xbox Series controller. I paired it to my PC via bluetooth after updating it via a usb c cable in the accessories app. everything else runs, say nfs heat, FIFA. etc. But the Sim does not detect the controller and only detects my mouse and keyboard. When i use USB c cable to connect it, it works fine, but not in bluetooth mode
