  1. Started by Zimmerbz,

I am on the latest experimental version and noticed on the last handful of flights that the STAR info in the MCDU has some odd altitudes. It will show the restrictions (for example, cross XYZ at 10000) but they don't 100% match the STAR. The next few restrictions will show 8000, then maybe 6000, but the next waypoint in the STAR might show FL350, then 5000, then FL350. Has anyone else noticed this? Is this an FBW thing, MSFS, or Nav data? As a side note, i've been climbing and descending via open climb and V/S. Have there been any improvements to managed climb and descent? Managed usually had me at like 4000 fpm and that isn't realistic.

I am new to ms2020 and after installing it I have a lot of trouble getting it to run right … as in the load on my gpu and cpu is low and the system is slow and stuttering . I am using vr , hp reverb g2 , RTX 3080 and i9 9700 . the buildings I am seeing look melted , scenery stutters and has issues ( also with motion reprojection on ) and the load on my CPU’s is around 25 pct ….. max gpu load is around 80 ….. seems like there is a bottleneck somewhere but I can’t figure it out . Internet connection download is 77mb/sec , not mbit but mb , is around 600 mbit/sec. is it a ms2020 server thing . I have had moments where it was very smooth and then al…

I have been noticing that a lot of buildings and trees have odd shapes and textures. What do you think this could be caused by? They look like blocky triangles. I am also getting a lot of shimmer.

Anyone know why all of my A320 liveries look like this with the same missing stripe on the tail. All AI paints look normal. https://imgur.com/a/I91Vy7i

As we all wait for AI aircraft to be added to MSFS, I am just wondering how much extra load this will add to the sim? I am aware that in FS9, you could add so many AI aircraft that it could actually cause quite a FPS drop, especially at large airports or if the slider was put at 100%. I have invested in a PC capable of running MSFS well in all areas, although I am only getting 20-30 FPS in places like London. This is just on the edge of acceptable with the ultra level of scenery, but once AI aircraft coming along, I am worried it may drop the FPS to an unacceptable level?

I noticed that MK-Studios have just released Vagar for about USD11.11. It's a handy stopping off point when flying between North Atlantic countries While looking in .to for liveries that fly to Vagar I stumbled on a freeware Vagar airport, which, at the time of writing, had 12,174 downloads. It looks pretty decent too. If someone ends up with both I would be interested in your thoughts on which is better.😀 T45

I bought this and installed it via the installer that it comes with. I thought it was successfully installed and when I got in the sim, it wasn't there. Is there a trick that that install ?

  8. Hi all, Just a quick shout out to all those with 3080Ti specifically. I currently run an i7 7700k at 4.6 GHz with 32GB of Ram and a rather lowly GTX1080 at present, with a 1080 monitor. I have my settings mostly on high with the ground details being on ultra, I also lock my FPS at 30. I am pretty pleased with the performance and have a good experience. As my system is coming up to five years old, I'm looking to build a new rig based around an i7 11700K and 3080Ti with a 43" 4K monitor/TV. Would this run at ultra settings at 4K and at 30 FPS? Cheers Stu

  9. I have the Honeycomb Alpha Yoke, but haven't opened the box yet. But was curious to know if I would be able to fly with the yoke only, without a set of dedicated rudder pedals and throttle quadrant while I wait for the Honeycomb Bravo to be available.

Is anyone else having trouble logging in to flightsim.to? The website appears to be down, interminable loading time, no message appearing on screen. I am trying to reinstall things after a complete reinstallation of MSFS, and many of the resources I need there are not available at present. UPDATE - it finally came up with a red headline message as follows: Decreased Performance | We are investigating downtimes and have temporarily disabled the option to upload new files.

Just getting into my Bravo Throttle Quadrant at the same time I'm starting in learning the CRJ (aerosoft). I've got my Bravo all set for various setups as per a popular youtube help video that got me set up with four solid presets. However, they don't seem to function with the CRJ. The axis controls work well enough, but many/most of the buttons don't do anything. I did notice that the throttles don't seem to really kick in properly at the right spots. I have a huge dead space below Idle that does nothing, for example. Do I need to create a specific preset JUST for the CRJ? Thanks.

I'm wondering why we have no wild life add-ons for specific rural areas. I'm only aware of the Okavango Delta add-on. For bush flying in British Columbia or Alaska it would be nice to see bears, elk and moose here and then, some whales and seals would be nice too. I've just purchased Tofino LB CYAZ airport from ORBX and did some bush flying over Vancouver Island. Would be nice to have some more fauna there like in real world. I know it is not the most important part of flight simulation but it is possible as it was shown by the Okavango Delta developers. What are your thoughts?

  15. I am using MSFS Addons Linkers to manage and organize what addons I use, but sometimes I am noticing strange issues when loading into the sim, the blue loading bar at the bottom will sometimes just stop at around 50-75% and just hang. At that point I open up task manager to see what the status of microsoft flight simulator.exe is saying and it shows a red -N which means that the app is hung or in a frozen state. So I manually kill the process and retry again. But every 2nd attempt I try, the sim loads fine. I'm not sure what the cause of this is. I am wondering if anyone else here is experiencing the same issue.

Hello Friends my aviators , I was wondering if there is any plugin that can change the colors of the sky , sunrise and sunset of MSFS 2020. Exists? The default ones are beautiful I know, but with time they get tired and there is always a need for a novelty. Thank you

Hi guys, Anyone else have this problem, flying the FBW 320, starts at 60fps on the ground then drops to like 26fps during cruise. Specs RTX 3080 I7 10700K.

  18. I have a Honeycomb yoke, Honeycomb Bravo quadrant, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro flight stick and a wireless xbox controller and wanted to know if it's okay to have all of these connected to the computer via a USB hub at the same time? Since I fly the A320 and GA planes with yokes a lot. I would hate to have to constantly unplug my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro just so I can fly with the Honeycomb Yoke, and vice versa. I just hope there are no conflicts if I have all my controls hooked up.

  20. Hi Y’all, I 'm in need of some friendly advice on the best instrument to use for doing fine adjustments on a PC running MSFS. Yesterday I downloaded and installed some freeware aircraft and the “Nordics” update from MS. Now when I go to load the sim, I get an endless “Checking for Updates” screen, and the sim will not load. I’ve disabled the freeware but to no avail, leaving me in need of advice on the proper adjustment tool. At present, my options are as follows 1) Double bit Woodsmans axe 2) 8 lb. Splitting Maul 3) Stihl 18" Chain Saw w/carbon steel blade. 4) 00 Buckshot delivered via Remington 870 12ga. pump. Ideally, 1/2 pound of C4 would do the job nicely but it’s ju…

I use an 10m USB extension, to keep my PC available on both my TV and another monitor, more suited to flying. I have an odd problem with controls, with them lagging at times or outright not working or moving without me moving them at all. This seems to be affecting only my joystick and pedals, the keyboard and mouse work fine all the time. With my setup, everything is connected to my PCs USB port by the said extension, and devices themselves are connected by a USB 3.0 4 port. The extension, however, is USB 2.0. Could that be affecting my setup? Why does my mouse work perfectly fine, as does keyboard, but not my pedal and rudder? EDIT: Looks like they don’t wor…

I keep noticing that the image quality of MSFS is becoming more and more blurry and degraded. Even from a low altitude, the scenery is intolerable. Buildings look like they’re melting as if hit by a nuclear bomb, and the ground texture looks cartoonishly. What is happening to the simulator? Any plans to fix it?

Hi all, As the title suggests, I installed version 2 of Global Ship AI. Was a large download and a long extraction to my community folder. However, in the sim, there's no ships. I tried Long Beach, CA, which always has lots of ships. I also gave Cook Inlet in Alaska a try, another spot that should have lots of ships. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance !

  24. And by that I mean the overall coloration and blending. For me, gone are the garish “seas of green” landscape and it is now replaced with something much more akin to a full color digital map. I am quite pleased with the current landscapes, and I know not all areas are as good as others but it IS getting better and better and that is very good for this hobby. FWIW. YMMV. TANSTAAFL. -B

So the sim has crashed 5 times for me tonight. I have not added any add-ons since last time I used the machine but tonight when it was loading, I got a windows defender message asking me if it was OK if MSFS accessed my network. I said yes of course but now I am dealing with this constant crashing and it it crashes at different points. Sometimes while starting up and sometimes after a flight is loaded, I appreciate the assistance from the community but please, before you start talkin about the "community" folder, be mindful that it was working fine yesterday and I have not added anything since. It smells like they changed something because of the Windows Defender me…
