Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

All was going well until I had a CTD. Now the download is stuck on checking for updates. Task manager shows everything should be running. Any ideas?

And with no warning or other notification! I am not certain I want Windows 11 at this time. Fortunately I seem to have TPM disabled in my BIOS and that blocks the Windows 11 download from installing. As long as TPM 2.0 is disabled my system is evaluated as not meeting all requirements for Windows 11. The system checker reports that Windows 10 will continue to be updated. Anyone else have this experience.

I ended a morning flight. Quit to desktop. Rebooted system. Cleared Community folder with Addons Linker. Did not start MSFS. Instead I started the standalone MS Store Windows app. Checked there for Updates. MSFS was listed as available. Clicked to update and the update process ran, automatically starting MSFS after the first update download process. Updating within MSFS continued until done. Very easy when done that way.

A complaint with past sims was the pathetic road lighting in an out of towns. MSFS seems to have nailed it. Cheers bs

HI MSFS 2020 Folks; I am looking to make to jump to MSFS from all of my great years with FSX Win 7. My question is around hardware since I am in the process of putting together the specs for my new gaming rig. I have got the CPU, GPU and VRAM covered. In terms of RAM I see that MS states (on the requirements website) that the ideal spec should be 32GB however, I noticed that some of the folks in this forum are running 16GB. (listed as part of their signature info) So my question is do I really need the 32GB instead of 16GB? Are folks experiencing issues with only 16GB? I just had an email offering a discount for the MSFS Hawk (25%) as I had the FSX version - nice! Available soon according to the email. But I suppose we know this as they said before the end of the month anyway. I wonder if it has been tested with SU6 beta?

The news was from a flight sim legend in the community, and I totally trust him. I can't say what the project is or who he is, but believe me, it's going to be huge news. I think IniBuilds said they would have an official announcement in December. Stay tuned.

But I don't think it's a 737Max, but a 737-800 that they show. Would that be the PMDG 737? I can imaging Aerosoft would ask for beta testing to check if their products are compatible with PMDG.

Important SU6 pre-update info! Avoid 100GB re-download

May I ask the following: When in External camera view and rotating the view around my plane left or right (using commands External view Look left, External view Look right, or using the hat switch) I noticed that the image tilts - one vertical edge goes down and the opposite vertical edge goes up. When I stop rotating the view, there's a certain inertia to the effect and it takes 2-3 seconds to return the view to perfectly horizontal view on the plane. Ok I have change from Stable to Dev mod of the A32NX to see if things change, but unfortunately it didn't. This is the scenario, I take-off from San Juan to Miami. I takeoff from RWY 08. I have program the heading to turn left heading 310.I engage the AP. At this time it seems fine. and the suddenly the AP disengages by itself and the plane goes in circles. I have clear community folder, only file there is the A320 NX.......,I have uninstalled and reinstall MSFS 2020, I unistalled and reinstalled A320 NX with and without installer. Any possible suggestions. or what might be the root cause?? thanx for any help........

I find the price quite expensive for just throttles. Does anyone have this and can comment on if they really see any value in getting these? Since I will be flying the A320 most of the time, I'm not sure how realistic the default commercial throttles will be with the Honeycomb Bravo.

Wish I knew how to do this, but would pay for it! "Live" Stadium action mod. ->But only when sports games are being played in real life, stadium lights lit at night, parking lots full, stadium full. Think, football (USA and Europe), Baseball, etc. Just like live traffic - adds "life" to the sim. Yes - many things need to be fixed first, but that's Asobo's job. This MOD would be made by some developer, someday. I hope! Vote immersion!

I had to disable HDR mode in Win 10 due to very bad colors (contrast, colors, sharpness, brightness), tried every thing possible with no luck, I was wondering if any one testing latest Windows 11 and have tried HDR, how is it? I wish MS/ASOBO would provide us with in-game sliders to tweak those options easily and on the fly, part of top menu maybe? Note; I'm aware my PC doesn't support windows 11, but planing on new system based on info I'm gathering right now.

Hmmm, Recently I was looking for frequencies on a map in MSFS because Plan-G (which is what I use for the most part) was showing me different data. I was surprised to find no data on the map. I noticed that I have NAVAIDS turned off (settings of the map). I turned it on, but I have it turned off as default again and so every time. I found near similar topic: but from few months ago, so looks like it isnt solved yet?

Good afternoon all, I have been using the GTN 750 for charts and METAR. I have used the 3D panel on the Carenado planes but I prefer the 2D version. Recently when I click the map on the top hud menu it has been putting the 2D panel at the bottom of the screen. Anyone seen this? I try to grab the top of the window and pull it up (like a resize normall moves it) but it won't come up. Was wondering if there is a command to bring it back to default area of the monitor. I will try changing resolution and see if that can get it to move. Just wanted to know if anyone has seen this. Happy flying all.
