Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I have forgotten how to stop the loading circle bottom right of screen when flying, I know you go into dev mode and delete something but I cannot remember what it was, any help would be appreciated.

I'm trying to create a very simple route by entering Blackbushe EGLK RWY25 into FROM and Southampton EGHI RWY 20 into TO. If I now try to enter Popham as an en-route waypoint by clicking on Popham and selecting ADD, I get a very weird routing. Can somebody please try it and see if they also get unexpected results.

Hello Tom A question about Little Navnmap 2.6.17 When I do a group flight with friends using MSFS2020, I don't see my friends' planes in Little Navmap. ( When I fly with FSX with friends their aircraft and mine are visible ) My question: Is this no longer possible with MSFS2020 ? With best regards Richard Grieder

Just curious, I’m looking at a new system and I have a couple in mind, but generally speaking, if you had to choose, would you prefer a better GPU with a lesser cpu or a better cpu with a lesser GPU? Thanks

So I've seen that I should delete my rolling cache before I update my sim with SU6, but as it is now deployed, I cannot run my sim to do this from the menu's, as it updates first ... is there any way of doing this without launching the sim? Thanks.

After i upgraded my cpu(6700k to 10700k) ram and mobo , i was getting worse performance... Always showed it was main thread limited. Fresh install os, fresh install msfs 2020 su6. Then today, i have decided checking some bios settings. I have set auto overclock with 10700k and xmp o.c to ram. Then with same game settings i have started sim again and get significantly better performance, stutters more more less, fps always above 30. Besides, i set in game vsync to on and set to 30 fps in game, my monitor is 60 hz. This setting give a headroom to my cpu. Anyone has trouble with su6, can try oc cpu and ram and vsync setting i mentioned. Good luck.

Just got this a couple of days ago, and wondered if I'm doing something wrong (always a strong possibility). I can't seem to either use the tablet or get it to disappear - neither of the click spots (on the dash or the tablet) respond in any way. And also, there is no pilot in the external view. Are these known issues or have I just missed something. Can't see anything in the manual (yes, I read it <grin>) Neither of thse things are enough to put me off using it, but it would be nice if I could figure it out. I'd like to try to find a way to assign a view to my hat switch that shows you the standard captain's forward view. Right now I have the hat set up so that, when in the cockpit hat left shows the view out the left window, right out the right window, but then I'm stumped. The pan views are left, right, UP and DOWN and I really just want forward (and maybe backward). I tried assigned a camera view to it, but that didn't work right either.

Because MSFS is on special at the moment; Has anyone purchased a second copy, to use for things like Your Controls on a second PC? If so, have you successfully purchased both under the one steam account and been able to use them both simultaneously on two systems? I understand I could simply create a second steam account, but was hoping I might not need to 🙂

Now that SU6 has been installed at my system as well I was planning to give FS2020's ATC a go again. I used ATC months ago and seem to remember that the co-pilot would handle all ATC communications as well as acknowledging ATC. So far, however, the co-pilot leaves all the acknowledging to me. I did set the ATC to AI option in "Assistance" to on and also ATC Voices was set to on in "User Experience". Do I need to activate more options to get my co-pilot to acknowledge ATC and if so, which one(s)? Thanks for your help

I definitely close the sim "properly" using the UI quit to desktop option yet every time I launch the sim it tells me I didn't shut down properly. I seem to recall this is a bug and related to community addons? Is that the current state, other than disabling adds on one at a time (not a viable option) is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening every time I load up?

Hi guys, as the title suggests, the Working Title G3X won’t show up in my sim. It’s never worked for me. I was hoping since they updated all their mods for the new update I might have some luck, but still, nothing. I’ve made sure all the file structures are correct in the community folders, which is the only trouble shooting suggestion on their site for the mod not appearing in sim. I’m truly stumped.

I would appreciate the opinions of you seasoned FS2020 performance measurers as to whether or not SSD RAPID mode increases FS2020 performance in either FPS or smoothness. Background: My FS2020 is installed on a Samsung SSD that supports RAPID mode (read acceleration through intelligent caching of hot data) which, when enabled, provided me with a measurable FPS increase. I would appreciate having an experienced person test RAPID mode and report their results for other forum dwellers to see. Thanks, RobertR

I just watched this Reno video. My eyes are on stalks! Prior to this video I wasn't that excited about the Reno pack but now.... Flight sim meets iRacing. AND it includes a P51 Mustang - I must get this AuthentiKit baby built ASAP!

FYI, just thought I'd let everyone know. Been flying this bird around for awhile and I'm loving it even more. The bird was nice before but now it's even better. The preview release based on the videos was a little flat to me in appearance, then the release came and it was better and really felt like the first incarnation of the Spitfire, now it's polished and amazing as any high end bird we have in our hanger. After the update no ID number appears on the Bonanza. It is enabled in the aircraft.txt file and also entered in the customization tab.

I posted this as a response in another thread, but thought I would ask here for more visibility and possibility of some help... I have noticed this issue since at least the last update and it persists. As you taxi at night, the blue lights appear to go off as you get closer to each individual light. Also, during the daylight or in the glow of my aircraft landing light, the taxiway light "lenses" are all solid yellow "tubes" instead of blue colored lenses on top of yellow stanchions. All in all a minor issue considering the scope of things, but it is kind of an immersion killer...especially at night taxiing around an airport. Who else is seeing this??? Is there a set…

So I was using the mod previously to disable this but sure I saw in release notes and from other comments that Asobo had turned this off in SU6. I've removed the mod but the handlebar is still there?

Hi all Well it appears the servers are working today however I just sat at KJFK for 30 mins and there was absolutely no live traffic on the ground or in the air. Im currently flying to KLAX and Im seeing live traffic while enroute and on the vfr map but the airports for some reason are totally bare. Doesnt seem like much of a fix to me. Should i celebrate? LFying the CJ4 from YBBN to YSSN in live weather (BAD weather with a HEAVY turbulence at 440). I was about five minutes at cruise altitude 440, the CJ4 bouncing up and down, rocketing sideways in the heavy turbulence while i had fun! And there was this tiny freeze and without any message whatsoever, back to the desktop. Hi all, Anyone else found that in some aircraft the shutdown logic has changed after SU6? I now have the pop up screen coming up after pulling mixture to cutoff on some aircraft. This used to be triggered after turning off the battery. Jase
