In an attempt to resolve this morning's issue by reconnecting the XBox profile, I've gotten the dreaded "packages out of date" message and I've lost another 300+ hours of flight log 😞 Added to the 100+ lost in October 2020, it makes now absolutely pointless to rely on the flight logbook. The irony of the story is that this is a cloud based game... and you can lose all your progress just by disconnecting and reconnecting to your MS profile.

  2. Hello, I saw a similar post sometime back, but cant seem to find it. The issue is when I use MSFS flightplan you get to choose gate departure and gate arrival. But what I have notice that when I arrive/land and taxi out of runway at my destination in this case MIA and when I communicate with ground it assigns me a different gate from the one I selected when I did the flightplan. Has anyone have this happen?? Is there a fix or solution?? any help is greatly appreacaite thanx.....

  4. I find it extremely difficult to change the NXi zoom with the mouse. Planes are not steady and even with active pause, it's still difficult to maintain the correct position and use the mouse scroll wheel. Is this on the wish list for MSFS improvements? I do realize there are other GPS's and I guess they might not be compatible, but it sure would be nice to have an easier way to change zoom on all of them. I guess the same could be said for all adjustments of knobs, but somehow the zoom bugs me the most. I've watched pilots adjust the knobs and it's very simple in RL. Even the climb rate in the AP is simple in RL, just rotate the wheel. This is more difficult in …

All, For the last few sessions I have been trying to get rid of screen tearing with Track IR, It is most difficult to get rid of screen tearing on the Vertical windshield framing on the FBW A320 I generally fly when turning your head laterally, Why is it if I use the sim on windowed mode with task bar showing, or have another window open overlying part of the screen it is fine no jaggies. However if I revert to full screen my (my preferred playing option) they come back? I have tried using V-sync in NVidia settings panel and in game but cannot eliminate the tearing. I am running a RTX2060 card with a I7-8700, 32 GB RAM. FPS at present locked at 30 within game. …

Hi, I have not used MSFS for quite some time (several months) and I am several versions behind. Would it be better to uninstall and start again with a clean install or risk trying several updates? Thank you in advance! Rich.

I am finding in "windy conditions" that I am having horribly aggressive wind effects on the aircraft. Objectively, while flying the "windy" landing challenges, at Dusseldorf the 747's airspeed jumps about 60 kts (from Vref of 140, to about 200) and flying C172 in the Sedona challenge, the heading bounces 25 degrees on the compass, both over the course of about a second. The 747 in particular will go form a 1500 fpm descent to a 500 fpm climb over 2-3 seconds. While the opening brief weather report doesn't report gusts, both scenarios are quartering head winds, about 35 kts for the 747 and 20 kts for the C172. I am not sure what version YouTubers were running, but when…

  11. This is for those who are SPADNext users or familiar with LVARS: The reason I ask is my Saitek throttle quads have worked in the past with the simple SPADNext Configure Left Lever window using the selection 'Throttle without Reverser'. Right now it works with the MSFS default A320 Neo and the B747. However, it no longer works with the FlyByWire A320. The Throttles are setup in SPADNext but no longer move in the FBW A320 cockpit? I re-downloaded the SPADnext bridge module which installs it to the community folder. Still does not help. Anybody with insight on this would be appreciated. Clutch

....that (in my opinion, other's mileage may vary...) MSFS was truly a year too early, to really be released as a pretty much now, non-Alpha/Beta incarnation. Had MSFS been RTM'ed in its present incarnation (SU6) , features, deployment, PERFORMANCE on pretty much anybody's current system, it would have been a virtual Flight Simulation 'Tsunami'.... Yes, we had great visuals at launch, the first RTM version, before ANY update, but that came at a very high system resource cost for many, including myself. There was no way I could approach Ultra Settings at that time. I had to run Medium to get something near 25-30 FPS. Today? The word 'performance' doesn't…

If you're looking for a little challenge and some nice hidden scenery, I recommend this approach into Tarija, Bolivia. Tarija is nestled down in a beautiful valley surrounded by a number of mountain ranges - the airport (SLTJ) is situated at 6100' and has a single instrument approach procedure: the VOR C Rwy 13 approach:

  16. It seems there was a brief hiccup yesterday with the servers being offline. The servers are online again today. And there was an issue with live traffic after SU6 yesterday but it seems to be fixed today? Anyways, I'm checking here at AVSIM and also at the official MSFS forums at forums.flightsimulator.com and the consensus is, most people are happy with this patch. Some people are even saying this is the best state that MSFS has ever been in, especially after all the fixes Asobo made. Most of the patch was actually fixes it seems, so MSFS should be more stable and the overall quality of life should have improved in MSFS. So what do you think about SU6? Has…

On a flight through inclement weather in the TBM I decided to try the weather radar. Before I turned on the radar I first activated NEXRAD to get an overall picture: It appeared that I had some heavy cells ahead of me so I activated the Radar: At this point the heavy precip was below me and that's what it indicated. When I began descent, I took a look ahead in horizontal mode: The pictures painted were fairly accurate. When in the dark or open areas it was just a light rain or everything was still. As I worked into the red zones the rain was heavy and turbulence increased (I stayed out of the magenta zones). Paint me impressed.

  21. My first flight attempts after SU6 had horrible taxiing performance (froze every couple of seconds) and I reported on it in this forum. After a couple of adjustments the issue seemed to go away and my overall performance was as good as or even better than ever. However, today I ended up with that same terrible slideshow performance - this time the slideshow continued into the departure and climb out, then dissipated. Suddenly, my cooling fans began to roar and continued at a high pitch for much of the flight. Even though the fans were working hard, the flight itself appeared to be smooth. Out of curiosity, I began to run some diagnostics: CPU: 50% GPU…

I came off my old airport tonight and just saw the moon, with the high clouds (moon providing illumination too which is insane), and the semi distant city night lighting. I said to myself "wow this looks my flight the other night." Even the up close lighting is markedly better - I see they dropped the size of those stupid floating bulbs to a more reasonable size. amazingNL by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr amazingNL2 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Even the runways look perfect from straight on from about 6 miles out....noice! 6 times today my PC has crashed about 2 mins into an msfs session. Not a CTD, but a complete shutdown. All other programs seem to run fine. Community folder emptied and no other mods installed all background programs stopped. Have been monitoring CPU and GPU temps throughout and no issues there. I've tried starting at different airports, but the same thing happens. Symptoms seem to suggest a CPU or GPU overheat, but as I say, temps are fine. Not sure what to look for next as it was running fine up until today and I've made no changes to the system at all. Just what I didn't need just before a major MSFS update. Any ideas or anyone else got a simila…

  25. Maybe kaosfere or cwburnett or one of the team members could post an overview for novices (and dumbed down old pilots) on what is available. I was enjoying the rapid upgrades for the CJ4 but suffered a stroke in March and am just now starting to remember details. (really true, I lost a ton of brain cells - not all - but many). I went looking for the latest CJ4 update but only found fspackages available. No doubt the CJ4 is included in the fspackage, but, do I need more than the CJ4? How about the panels? All compatible? I have lots of time to read the pilots/user guide (12.7) that is mentioned. EDIT: A few minutes after posting this I found a link to the Di…
