Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I am assuming I am correct that the Flybywire sim does not have a working VNAV? Please correct me if I am wrong here. I have basically been manually working out the descent profile using 3:1 and descending at approx 2000 ft/min. Any ideas when their own autopilot software will be available?

Hi, I'm having a heck of a time installing msfs 2020. Just purchase this program on sale from Steam last week and have run into a problem. While installing it for the first time, the program froze after about 5% of installation. Reboot the computer and tried again, now the program begins, flashes by the part where it let me log into my Xbox account and goes directly to the installation manger page and stays there saying checking for updates, with the wheel just spinning and never moves off. I texted Steam help and they said it seem their may be a problem with the games launcher. I tried deleting both the game and steam and re-installing both but to no …

Hi, has been a while flying airbus, how can I activate the flightplan? I put everything in, but forgot at some point to insert it or activate it. How can I activate it now? I only get a dashed route in the navigation display.

Since SU6 (?) I experience strange GPU/visual artifacts when panning view. During panning I get areas with extremely oversized "pixels" as long as the movement lasts. It looks like I have something like a 40x20 resolution in these view areas. It is not the whole screen but a good part of it (1/3 of the upper half of the the screen?) It only occurs when I have finished a flight and I go back to the Welcome Screen to start another flight. This second flight does show these artifacts. The initial flight after MSFS was started does has never shown this anomaly. Any ideas what could cause this?

some may blow this up as an issue, just a small disturbance for me as I always get confused with the 2 boards Departure/FROM and Arrival/TO. I mean, if arrival means those at the current airport, ENVA in below case, shouldn't it read Arrival/FROM and departure/TO instead? Or is this a TGIF thing and I should need some rest?

I just reinstalled Windows 10 (because of an unrelated MSFS problem). Now I can't install MSFS 2020. This is the message I get when I try to install from the Microsoft Store: "It looks like you don’t have any applicable device(s) linked to your Microsoft account. To install, sign in on a device with your Microsoft account." Why does it not recognize my desktop even after I am signed into MS.

I've tried a couple of times to do a RNAV approach in the 172. But I don't think I'm coupling the Garmin correctly after receiving clearance for the approach. I don't have a manual or reference video to work from, so any assistance or suggestions welcome. Thanks

I remember reading this some where. When I lower the mixture and press the lever to let the mixture go to zero, the engines do not stop as I think they should. I vaguely remember an addon being the reason. I could remove all addons but that would require starting MSFS multiple times which as we all know is pita. Can someone remind me what add-on or what reason is preventing the Arrow mixture not going to zero and stopping the engines? Again I have pressed the lever on the right side of the console to let the mixture go the extra distance to completely off. Still nothing. I have to use the key. Is this correct?

Hi!, I have a good high speed Broadband system with good download and upload speed average 75mbps but when I play MSFS2020 the sim download only around 500kbps and for this problem I think I have photogrammetry problem-no photogrammetry in my sim. It looks all sceneries are AUTOGEN. Is any other simmer out there have the similar problem and if any body know the remedy for this then please share it here, it may be very helpful for people like my self. Thanks a lot

After days of having the TBM alarm going off whenever the brake was applied, I saw a post on the main MS site that listed a WT g3000 update that apparently resolves this issue. I can verify that this has indeed silenced the alarm for me! Here is the link: WT g3000-v0.7.6a Includes fixes for annunciators on the Longitude and the TBM 930 when using Sim Update 6 I did see at least one post from an XBOX user stating that this did not work for him, though it appears to be doing the job for most.

It would be nice if ASOBO or a third party would include the workable buttons and knobs with docked PFD and MFD. I use separate monitors for them and when I have to input something, I have to go back to the main screen which is for front outside view only, I have to change the view, rezoom and make my inputs. A real pain when your flying. Gnacino

Hi All, I just fired up MSFS for the first time in a few days and flew from CYHM - MMUN in the A32NX. I noticed right away performance in the sim was lower than it has been recently. I flew a similar route at the end of last week and it was smooth all the way. I noticed that I was connected to the East Coast Server which makes sense considering where I am geographically and the connection constantly bounced around between 50ms - 115ms. Each time I checked when things got choppy the value was around the 115ms mark Has anyone else seen a drop in performance like this and I wonder if it is in fact connected to server loads or issues.

I'm fine tuning and have never had a sense of which sliders seem to impact the CPU the most. After landing at KSFO just now I see the sim was limited by the main thread and brought frames just after landing down to about 26, and since we are vsync to 30 this creates stutters. I had LOD-T at 300, LOD-O at 200. I stopped after turning off the runway and frames were 25 at that point. So I dropped LOD-T down to 230, and Trees down to High (all other on Ultra), and I'm back to 30fps at the same location. So clearly dropping LOD-T down had a substantial impact. I probably should also consider upping my clockspeed back to 5.0gHz from 4.8Ghz (which runs great at only 1.15v,…

Hi Guys, Two images here of what I was getting before SU6 and what I get now. Having said that, I can't be sure this was not happening before SU6 was released, so I am not necessarily blaming that but it seems something has changed . Please don't take any account of the ghastly exposure on this second photo. I had to turn HDR off to stop it from being all washed out and cant get NV Experience to work properly at all. That's another issue I'll focus on later. But at the moment this post apocalyptic appearance is particularly frustrating. FYI, I didn't think it possible without Asobo but DakFly0219 fixed the alarm issue in his latest update offered on Flightsim.to. When power was first turned on in the aircraft the alarm would go off and not stop until the aircraft was powered on and the parking brake was released. I'm very impressed at what this guy has been able to accomplish with his updates. WT has released v7.6 of their G3000 which I still need to try. Version 7.5 had issues with the horizon line not following the terrain on the display, hope that has been fixed. I guess the TBM will be next with it's yet to be released SU6 update. I am still trying to get the simulator to fly (always freezes on launching a flight - for 3 weeks now) - and have noticed increasingly that it tells me to turn scenery off as bandwidth is too low - and I'm 78mb fibre optic. Today I clicked on my log in top right of main menu and Online status is always offline and cant change server - both areas are greyed out. Is this normal? A second point to note is that even with the sim in the menu options only my GPU reached 72 degrees centigrade, with the fan on full pelt. This seems odd to me - the sim then froze before I could even launch a flight. All thoughts welcome.
