Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Just went to update to SU6 as I haven't had time to fly. No update showed in the MS Store or in Xbox app. So I started MSFS and let it do it's checking for updates thing. It does show an update of roughly 465 Mb but the is just an additional option to 85Gig worth of downloads. It's like it wants me to reinstall the whole delux version I have. 🥵 I am SO tired of the updates not working properly. Is that my only option? I have a VERY slow connection and it would take nearly 24 hours to download all over again 🤢

Today during a three-hour flight from Baltimore to Indiana I had my FPS slow into the mid-teens from a locked 30. I was flying GA at 10,000 on top of an overcast. My initial attempt at the first instance was to check and modify my settings for live traffic. No change in FPS. Went back into the settings and dialed LOD back from 400 to 200. Instant change back to my locked 30 FPS. Waited about two minutes. Back into settings and dialed LOD back to 400. No problem. Stayed at 30 FPS. About an hour later I experienced the same rate of slowing in FPS. Suspicious, I again changed LOD. But only barely. Back to 400. Returned to flying. Back to normal FPS of 30. Smo…

Finally a CDU that does not use a Display Output to drive the UI!! Short Video showing inputting a FPL with DEP, ARR and ENROUTE that contains airways. Again the whole thing is driven over USB and has an impressive response. Thanks to SPAD.neXt this is no longer just a P3D or XPlane 737 CDU we can re-use it... Little bit of support on the MSFS side and even the default planes could expose their CDU Screens like Aerosoft is doing for the CRJ.

Anyone else have the game suddenly CTD every time about 50% through the loading screen post SU6... Never had a CTD when loading the game. What can I do?

Comparison of two add-ons.

My grandson was using my MSFS2020 the other day and somehow managed to get his name to appear on several panels in several different planes......I can't figure out how he did it...(He won't do it again!)...Can someone please tell me how to change or remove the name? Thanks a lot... Steve in Kansas

I use simbrief to create a flight plan. For example KSJC to KLAS. The cruse altitude is set at FL390. After takeoff I am given a couple step climbs to something like FL170. But then I never receive any more step climb instructions. What am I not setting up correctly so as to be told to climb to FL390? Thanks,Jim

Just upgraded to an EVGA 3080 Ultra (hurray, more vram to put towards terrain distance) and wondered if I now have the option of fixing something that has long since plagued me immersion factor. When the sun casts shadows in the cockpit they're often very jagged (which I assume is just the jaggies of the reflected item now blown up to show the jaggies). Is there a graphic setting to reduce/eliminate this and is it worth it?

bit the bullet & got the Xbox XSX - primarily because of MFS, spoiler: it will not necessarily replace your PC… but, simply amazing that it actually works, no helicopters yet, but the native 152 works well for detailed exploration, also, 120 Hz HDMI 2.1 implementation with 4K HDR FreeSync Premium setup (need to verify what MFS actually defaults to in this environment), first impressions, amazingly smooth & must mention went straight to London & LA detailed areas & even slight hiccups were smooth, to have streaming Blackshark AI with MFS World Updates had me speechless, all with a box about 8” square & a foot tall… …

...can't process a run of MSFS (or), can't process a successful update of any kind for MSFS... You might have a mild, or quite serious W10 or 11 file system corruption. There is much that you can do yourself, and not NEED to have to completely reinstall W10 or 11, and the instructions are very easy...to do the following: None of these commands will BORK your system, they only will fix it...or will tell you that they can NOT do the command repair, and why.... Hello, I'm interested if anyone else is seeing this, or maybe if there's already a workaround. When I load a flight, I do not have any in-game menus any more. The little white bar does not appear and the menu icons do not pop up. So I can't open payload or ATC window e.g. Can someone else confirm this? thx

Hello, AAO has now an experimental B:Vars feature. B:Vars are varaiables which control more and more (regarding standard MSFS aircraft) with every update, but couldn't unfortunately be controlled from extern. The AAO Dev has found a way around, so we could now access and control those variables. In combination with the AAO Bridge for my VRInsight MCP Combo II and the StreamDeck plugin it is a great joy to fly. I made a short (ugly) video where you can have a little insight what is now possible with AAO and a StreamDeck. (I have seen meanwhile that the Inert Sep is not working in the vid, but I will fix it in the plugin, no problem) …

I completed my first flight with the Longitude post SU6 and post all the improvements made to the mod and the WT G 3000. Didn't encounter any issues, but got the annunciator caution Standby Battery Off - where is that switch located? Thanks.

When I'm flying I often open multiple windows and if any part of FS2020 is popped-out as a window and my mouse is over that window, all inputs are frozen and this causes some moments of panic and then in some cases virtual fatalities as when I finally remember what's going on my controls are so changed that when the mouse does move back into the cockpit everything gets applied at once and the plane goes berzerk. Is there a setting to fix this?

This morning I took off out of KSAN, and headed along the coast southbound....and ended up flying for three hours SOUTH! Wow...wow...the colors of the mountains, hills, dales...along the Mexican coast...in MSFS is just awesome! Very rugged terrain, barely populated....and so beautiful on Photogrammetry.... Take the Cessna 172 Amphibian, so you can touch down in any pristine cove....just an awesome flight of MSFS discovery this morning.... "Viva Mexico!".....

With the Reno races update David said in the yesterday Q&A that all aspect of the multiplayer should be improved. Can we expect a better traffic representation/movement from other players/simmers (is it a game or a sim!?!?) on Vatsim after this update. Right now i think its really bad and kill the immersion a bit, the other planes just look like vessels from a Thunderbirds episode, when the planes come to land they just look like they got suck as if the runway was a magnet. Maybe somebody with knowledge how simconnect ingested traffic works can answer me! Is it better on P3D/Xplane? For exemple can you see the other pilot struggling with the plane on rough …

Hi, with which programming language can I access the msfs sdk to programm stuff for msfs? Do I need objectoriented languages like c++ or can I use other languages either?

I haven't seen this mentioned before, when I fly GA flights at say 2500ft there are very often Ai aircraft well below me. I thought I would follow one today, it was a C172 and he was cruising at tree top height. Anyone else noticed this ?
