when ATC tells me to land via VOR 03L, i change the F-PLN arrival, and utopilot starts turning to the route back. Why?

Hi All I have had reason to uninstall and re-install the sim from the original box CD version. However each time I try I get the following warning and the download from CD to PC crashes: Default D:\data3.cab Data error (cyclic redundancy Check) Grateful for any advice please?

I have an annoying situation that I have not been able to solve. When in MSFS I change a cockpit view, the instrument autoselect checks on and... I don´t like it! How can I disable permanently the instrument autoselect option? I can disable it in cameras, but it comes back when I select the next instrument view. Thanks

Hello all, Can someone tell me if it is normal not to have a desktop icon to start MSFS2020. I have three folders in my SSD where FS2020 is installed ... they are:- Program Files .. ModifiableWindowsApps .. This is empty WindowsApps ... this folder is denying me entry WpSystem which leads to AppData sub folders I have looked in my Drive C (Windows10) but cannot find anything that looks remotely like a MSFS exe file. I need help here please ... I am completely stymied. Tony

I am having an issue with the altimeter setting using REX Weather Force. Over the last hour or so the QNH for YSSY as reported by Weather Force is 1025. I set up the sim as described by Weather Force instructions with the clear skies preset then start my flight. I then start weather synthesis and once injection completes the displayed weather changes but the QNH setting doesn't remaining on 1013. On pressing B to reset the altimeter, the QNH changes to 1025 but the displayed altitude changes from the correct 20 ft to about plus 340 feet. Have I missed something here? My understanding is if I copy a default a/c folder, such as asobo-aircraft-tmb930, from C:\Users\...\...\...\...\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Official\OneStore into my Community folder, the asobo-aircraft-tmb930 folder in the Community folder will take precedence over the original one in OneStore. I should then be free to experiment with flight tuning values for the TMB930 using the Community folder files, but at any time I can go back to the original TMB930 just by deleting the asobo-aircraft-tmb930 folder from the Community folder. Do I understand this correctly, or are there some 'hidden' dangers in doing this? Thx, Al

I am at KBUR airport and I select a random Gate. Now I am looking at a concrete wall. Is there a method to relocate to a different gate or parking spot without starting all over and selecting the departure airport, then a different gate, and then waiting for the sim to restart? Looking for some sort of shortcut without starting from scratch just to move to a new gate. Thanks. Regards, Ray

After SU6, if I use Simbrief to generate a flight plan, the IFR clearance option is not available on the ATC, only VFR. It seems a common thing: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/no-option-to-request-ifr-clearance-from-default-atc/448922 Creating a FP from the World Map just for the sake of IFR clearance is no solution because the Simbrief plan does not overwrite the flight plan when I try to load it from the MCDU... Is there any workaround? The Experimental A32NX is unusable in these conditions, being incompatible with World Map generated flight plans. Thanks!

Is anyone else experiencing this odd phenomenon? I don't see any airport beacons except from my departure airport. If I fly directly over another airport it will eventually show up. Seems like a scenery loading bug. I'll report it but I'm wondering if anyone else observes this? (in my pic the middle airport, my departure airport KSGS has a beacon, but the one to the right is KSTP (just 5 miles north of it), and KMSP to the west - both which have aerodrome beacons irl, are unlit.) missingbeacons by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Here is KSGS again, and KSTP to the upper right of my pic - I would easily see the beacon at this point...but nothing shows up…

Hi Guys, Did I miss something here or is this really as it says 'professional' and requiring a lot of knowledge and probably an expensive licence? It was on the front page article of AVSIM today, and it mentions MSFS: "Fabio Merlo announces the Autumn Update for version 4.5 of FlightControlReplay Professional, a complete Record / Replay utility for MSFS, P3D5 – 1 and FSX." I learned something today about the effect a defective livery can have on MSFS, at least it did in my case. After a successful flight as usual in my DC6, I decided to set up a flight for the Seminole. I had downloaded a livery from Flightsim.to, and dropped it into the community folder after extracting it. I also decided to check to see if there were any updates for any of my market place add ons in content manager, and there was one for the Key West airport I purchased months ago, so I installed that. Now I started up MSFS, and selected the new livery for the Seminole, and spawned it at KEYW to see what it looked like. As soon as I hit Fly Now, I got a CTD, which …

Does anyone know of an app that keeps a record of MSFS memory usage over several flying sessions and over time? Hopefully it keeps a record of running averages of other stats also (such as temp, fps, cpu, etc). Thanks.

I initially startled running the install of MSFS 2020 running a GTX1060 card and i7 7700k. Later upgraded the computer used to a i7 10700F and RTX3060. I didn't think to switch drivers or make a new config file for a couple of months after changing computers. Strange thing is, I've always run vsynch on, locked at 30fps. After changing FTX drivers to RTX and rebuilding the config file, I still run vsynch on, locked at 30, but framerate is reported as 60 fps no matter the method used to check the frame rate. It's not causing problems but what causes the discrepancy????

What is the exact elevation modeling in the FS2020 simulator on and around Mount Everest?

As you know in msfs at some areas satallites images are bad and these areas are covered by default fsx terrain textures. For example at georgia most areas covered by default textures. Is there a solution to this?

Hi I have downloaded some free photogrammetry for different cities such as London and Edinburgh which look great in the Summer. I decided to do a test with snow and was disappointed to see that there is no snow later on the areas I have added. Is it possible to add snow to photogrammetry scenery or is this something that the freeware developers are not adding? If it is across the board then I dont think that they will work for me, but if it is possible, it might have to be a try before you keep policy/ I think I am going to have to remove these areas as it does break the immersion if areas are not covered in snow and I dont want to have to try and remember …

Hello, In the A 320 when in flight you have to fill in aproach data such as destination temp/wind/ qnh. And on the right side of that page there is [ radio ] and [ Baro ] What should be filled in there and where to find that specific data ? Hope someone can tell me.
