Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Haven’t run MSFS a couple of months, so knew I would have some updating to do, but it’s telling me a compulsory 85gb! Surely to Christ that cannot be right? It sounds more like a complete install from scratch. Is it just me, or is there a way around this? I’ll be less than happy if I have to install the full monty again, as with my download speed, that represents a good 24 hours. Jeez, it doesn’t pay to turn your back on this title for more than 5 minutes does it?

We usually get updates each month, but not this time.... They promised the release of the 737 for Q4 2021, which ends in less than 2 months yet we still don't have any interior pictures nor beta test announcement. I'd be very surprised if they don't delay it.

Greetings, I did a search for this - but all I got back were unrelated threads. A relative bought me the DVD retail package of FS2020 for pc. I am curious if I need to conduct the install from the dvd, or if I can submit the redeem code and install from online? Obviously the discs are a pain to install from. I have never otherwise purchased or installed FS2020 on any other device. Thanks!

For the second evening in the row, I'm checking things out in the NY area. Tonight I'm in the Diamond, at rwy 9 at KSWF I'm showing that I'm at -1600 ft on the ground, pressing my hot key for setting altimeter and it's constant 27.99. I get up to 6,000 and ATC says it's 3028, pressing my hot key, no reaction. Is this acting up for anyone else?

Hey guys, I am playing the MSFS2020 since a few weeks ago. When I’m over 18,000 ft I set my altimeter to Std, so standard, but I don’t know how to set it back to say 29. 87. I’ve tried the B key, but nothing happens.

Hi all, lately im running into problems with my TIR 4. I have downlaoded and installed the lastest Naturalpoint software 5.4.2.27545. I have downloaded the latest game update. I start FS 2020 and everything is okay. I can pause the TIR, reset, everything works fine. And while im paused and want to unpause, the organe pause led turn red and TIR stopped working completely. There is no other way than quiting my flight, FS 2020, restart TIR and FS 2020 and try again, which will lead into the same problem. For test i flew DCS and Elite Dangerous for hours and TIR works flawless. Anybody else having this issue and more important: is there a way to reconnect TIR while FS 2020 is…

First I can’t take credit for finding this spot, also I flew this in the caravan as an fyi, but if anyone is looking for good fun and a little challenge, take off from LFCB, head due west to LFIP (airport known for the shooting of the movie James Bond tommorow never dies) and land on runway 09, it’s quite challenging, keep enough power to make it up hill where you can enjoy all the log cabins/structures up on the tarmac. It’s a short flight, 10 minutes perhaps. Once you’ve completed that take off again and head north west, you can see the highest peak off in the distance, very easy to spot, fly towards it at about 9800’ and you’ll be greeted with a really cool observ…

Every time I chose KLGA for departing from, it loads 3/4 and freezes. Has anyone here been having or had the same problem and have a fix? Thanks.

Is there a way to change the joystick button to a different number. The buttons that come up on the task bar ie - joystick button 3 = go back. That happens to be the trigger button on my thrustmaster joystick I want to use the most as my com button. I always use the mouse for go back action when setting up the flight in the menu system. Any help would be appreciated.

This is the first time I have seen this but I am missing all of the default buildings at airports. They were there yesterday morning and then last night gone. I tried again this morning and same thing! The jetways are still there but no terminals, hangars, etc. The custom Asobo airports and my addon airports are fine. I removed my Community folder to make sure it was not an addon causing it but it did not resolve the problem. I have not changed any settings in the sim, etc. All of the regular AI buildings are still showing up fine, this is only effecting airport objects. Thanks for any help!!

More and more Must Have add ons and those that we wish we had available from the other flight sims seems to be wrapped and available to be placed under the Christmas tree. I hope my credit card is thick enough, the numbers are wearing down from the increased use. We have to be careful what we wish for as they say. There are still a few big name and popular developers yet to make announcements so we might want to hold a few bucks back for some last minute arrivals. Hi Everyone for the last 3 days my click points in all the planes are not responding. When I hover the mouse pointer on a rotary button, I get the zoom action but no rotation. On push buttons no action. I have re installed msfs2020 and with empty community folder the problem is still here. Any solutions please. Qas

Win10/SU6: I start a flight at 60 FPS. About 30 min later in flight, FPS drops to 1 FPS for about 30 sec, then recovers back to 60 fps. Anyone else see this? Thanks.

Just spent a couple of hours researching MSFS settings. Part of that was the YouTube video below showing side by side comparison videos of each MSFS graphics setting. I had been running everything on Ultra, but after watching the video I reduced many setting down to medium or high as higher settings made little visual difference. The FPS saved by the changes have enabled me to run a render resolution of 130 while keeping Terrain Level of Detail at 400 and Objects Level of Detail at 200. Two settings made a big difference to texture sharpness out to the far distance. Texture Resolution HIGH instead of ULTRA (the video shows this well). Texture Super Sampling …

I have been trying out the freeware glider from touching cloud and really enjoying it so far. However when I am going into anything more than a gentle bank (for climbing a thermal) it goes nose down and into an unrecoverable dive. Does anyone know if this is a limitation of the glider, a bug or just pilot error?

Without much of a fanfare, and probably eclipsed by the excellent Athens release a few days ago, but it interests me, as I will be going there on holiday next year hopefully, and the end of the runway is basically the San Martin of Europe. Expensive though. Only a few pennies less than Athens, but they say you also get the whole island modelled. I look forward to Corfu next.

Hi All, I've followed the post in the Tip and Tricks forum for moving the internal camera to outside the plane and camera bounding box. It does work for my caravan but unfortunately it gives me a large black box, like a luggage box, on the roof of the fuselage. I assume this is a visible bounding box. Needless to say it rather ruins the effect. I also notice that My payware BN-2 doesn't have an internal camera bounding box. I can freely move the cockpit camera position to anywhere outside the plane and then save it as a custom view. No black Box either. Does anyone know which setting in the CFG files removes the bounding box for a particular aircraft? Failin…

Hi! Just a quick question. Maybe someone can help me out with this. Can the predefined CLB/DES profiles be changed? In the dropdown menu i can only select 250/300/0.78 (FBW A32X) and i'd like to change it to 250/290/0.78 as that seems to be the predefined on in the A320 too. Any help appreciated! Tom
