Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

After almost 30 years of flight simming, I realized this morning that there is so many places in the world I have never flown. I decided to plan a flight from GUCY to GGOV in Africa. I have never flown in Africa, and wondered what it would look like. It looks great, and I bet I will spend a great deal of time flying from one airport to another. This is something I would have never done in any sim I have owned before.

The G530 of my JustFlight PA-28 Arrow plane will not take the flight plan loaded from Pilot2ATC. I have watched many YOUTUBE videos about settings and tutorials for Pilot2ATC and yet, I could not load a simple direct flight successfully in MSFS2020. What am I doing wrong? At this point I cannot figure if it is either a simulator issue or the PA-28 G530 one. Can anyone help? (Hope I am in the right thread). Thank you. MSFS2020 Update 6. Hi Folks, I have had the WT G1000 NXi for some time now, my flying buddy installed it this evening but is not seeing the data at the side of the Bearing 1 and Bearing 2 display. It simply shows several white dots whereas mine shows distance and bearing to. We are both on the same version from the Marketplace. We both have the same frequencies in the NAV 1 and 2 radios. We can tune an NDB and we both see the frequency and bearing for that when we select it with the Bearing 2 softkey in the PFD. We are puzzled as to why he cannot see the info for a VOR. The frequency is green and shows the ident, the CDI is green and displays VOR1 in green but still no data in the bearing 1…

Today i flied to delhi india, metar says smoke and visibility 2k meters. But when i arrived to delhi, there is no smoke and visibility ok. I think smoke is not simulated by weather engine, Right?

Hi Can anyone give me step by step instructions on how to move flight sim 2020 from my old dell computer to my new dell computer? It is the steam version. Hello to all I have a problem that I can't solve. Since the SU6 update I can't launch the Nice scene. I have the screen freezing whatever the device. If I fly and I arrive in Nice after leaving the runway, the screen freezes near the doors. I emptied my Community and it's the same thing. I tried to uninstall the France update and it's the same thing. If I uninstall only the airport of the France update, there I have no problem Do you have an idea because I'm a little confused Regards

I’m looking to,fly with ATC and wondered what the preferred option is when integrating with MSFS? Is one more busier than the other?. I appreciate VATSIM has the steeper learning curve and less tolerance to rookies.

I thought it was an update to DD KDCA but they have found out its a MSFS bug . Untill then you need to do this before you fly into or out of DC The fix is. ------------------ Asobo has already found the fix which will be published with SU7 (ETA mid-November). As per Asobo: "It's not related to the file itself but rather to the way it's handled. This is not a unique case but the fix will solve all occurrences." Go to the folder: Official\OneStore\fs-base-cgl\CGL\032 Remove the bldo010.cgl file. -------------------

Hey, simmers! Today tried launching the sim and no success... I get message: checking for updates. And nothing is going on.. I tried to reboot the comp, turned off all the addons in my community folder. Nothing... Just now tried again. Waited for the update check complete for about 30 min and then the sim started loading but when the bleu loading line reached the end the sim still didn't launch (waited for another 30 min). How can I resolve this problem? Never had such experience...

Hi, I have bought SLC and have a problem when using it with the A320. After the boarding I can't close the door properly - I can hear the looped sound of opening and closing door and the round "door close" icon flashes, as if it was continuosly opening and closing the door. Have you experienced something like this?

Hi All, I use the drone (showcase) camera to perform the role of what would have been the "spot" or external camera in P3D because I feel you've got more camera movement and flexibility than the default MSFS external camera (much more limited zoom). Only trouble with this approach is that when I switch to the drone I can't control the aircraft and the drone at the same time. I can press "C" to "Toggle Aircraft Control" but doing that seems to disable the camera movement and as a result I have no external control whilst controlling the aircraft. Is there a way around this? I know I probably should just be using the default external view but it just …

This post is definitely my personal feelings and musing, but sometimes it's nice to share our experiences to discuss with others. Since MSFS came out, I've run P3D and MSFS side by side. Today, that ended and P3D is departing my system. The final straw was trying to start P3D today and it is now crashing starting a flight. Life is busy and I hadn't started P3D in 2-3 months (have done some short flying in DCS and MSFS). It did it's moody thing and wouldn't load in to flight. It seems it would do this every 6 or so months and I'd end up reinstalling everything. With some 150 add-ons to install, it was a several day task. I have been a little particular pu…

Prior to the last update I had great performance on the ground with no stutters and everything being very fluid. After yesterday's update the sim is an absolute slide show on the ground with FPS of 1 or less. Once the plane gets in the air the sim runs great with no stutters and FPS locked at 30. My system is a I9 10900K, 64 GB RAM and RTX 3090 with 24 gb video memory. It happens with every plane and an empty community folder. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this? Thanks.

Since the last update, sim bandit has a max speed of 2X. Are there any other apps that do the same function or is there hope that the sim bandit might be updated ?

Since flying takes a lot of precious time, I don't have enough time to sit and fly the entire route. I was wondering is it possible to save in mid flight and then load the save and resume exactly from where I left off without any problems? This would be a game changer if the save game feature works with out any problems when loading back in.

You're having the issue of addon airports, despite placed in the correct community folder, not showing up in the sim? Here's the reason why and how to solve it: I've had this problem, because some addons were in the community folder like this: "...\Community\troglodytus-airport-lowk-klagenfurt\troglodytus-airport-lowk-klagenfurt" I've googled like 15 minutes or so to find out why some addons work and others don't and are being shown as "not installed" in the content manager. One of my favorite tools when flying in high terrain environments is the Terrain Mode of the PNS GTN750 mod. It really helps me maintain situational awareness as far as the best paths to maintain safe clearance or to get advanced warning when altitude or flight path should be adjusted. It was quite handy on this flight in a mountainous region of Peru. At this point I am seeing terrain along my flight path that is within 1,000 to 1,500 ft. of my current altitude.

Since the latest release, I have been seeing a lot of stutters, particularly around dense cities and highly detailed payware airports. It is not unflyable, but pretty close, After the latest update, I increased the LOD to 400 so I know that might be causing things to stutter, so I know i can turn that down a bit. My question is, what are some of the visual settings that you can put to high, that won't sacrifice much visually, but will help with smoothness and performance? For example, I have read that there isn't much visual difference between Ultra clouds and high, so you should keep them at high. Is there anything else I can tweak before changing back the LOD? Flying the Cessna 172 G1000 and The Caranedo Cessna 182, and I can't input the altitude or the Vertical Speed with the quadrant dials. Nothing happens. I have to click on the screen knobs to input information. Any idea why this isn't working or If other people are having the same problem. Thanks Walt
