Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

In the last videos of the most recent beta of FS2020 the propeller animation is still terrible and generating artifacts, very distracting, despite the excellent graphics and sceneries.

hi! unfortunately I still have the same problem with CTSs after SU6, which were itroduced to me after SU5 and: Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_1.19.8.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\FlightSimulator.exe Path of the faulty module: C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\clr.dll Before SU5 I never had ANY CTD. I do not know what to do anymore … Tried everything a read here an elsewhere to no avail, Zendesk is no help either. I think I will give up for now, which would be much easier if MS FS wasn´t so word not allowed smooth and nice, the few minutes I can fly.

Hi all, I've turned off the flight assistant and I always load the aircraft at a parking stand but it starts with everything on. How can I start my flight in the cold & dark state?

I need some help please. Is it likely that some of the servers are still down after the latest update ? I have not been able to get past the 'checking for updates' screen since the update. I have resorted to uninstalling MSFS from Steam and the reinstalling but the again I can't get past the 'checking for updates screen'. I can't think of what to do next. and would really appreciate some help. Thankyou.

Hi Folks. Since the update I cannot seem to get the mixture lever to work on my CH yoke. I have re-assigned it several times and I can see the white slider bar working but in the cockpit it does not operate. Any thoughts? Regards...Kenny.

On the world screen I click on "Open Filters", then turn on NAVIDS and FIX AND RNAV POSITION REPORT. I have to do this every time I open the sim. Is there a way to save this so I don't have to do it each time Roy

Flying through thin cloud layers and icing accumulates immediately, just like it did before they fixed it in SU5. Anyone else experiencing this?

It's been a long time coming, but at last I can say I am flying a simulator that gives me more or less what I have always wanted in a flight sim. Since SU6, it looks fantastic! The only thing that would make things almost perfect for me, apart from top level planes from the likes of A2A etc, which will come, would be to sort out the rather annoying delayed loading of cliffs around water and an improvement on the cloud textures as I find them OK but still not that realistic, but I guess that's a personal thing. As for the morphing cliffs, I don't understand why mountains etc, don't seem to show this annoying characteristic, or when they do, it's faaaar less noticeable. I w…

If a free DEM is installed in the FS2020 Community, does the simulator landscape show this free DEM or the simulator's own altitude modeling that is effective in that area? For example, if the free DEM in the Community has an accuracy of 10 m and the simulator's own DEM in that area has an accuracy of 5 m, which one appears in the simulator landscape?

Hello, Do we still put addons in the community folder or do they go somewhere else? Reason I ask is cause the addons I have currently in the community folder dont seem to show up anymore in the sim? Jim

with the current sale on marketplace, I would like to jump into one of Carenados twin props. any recommendations for either the Seneca or Seminole? Would go with the Seneca but wondering how much the windscreen anti-ice may bother me during flight. OTH the Seminole has a worse rating. well...

There are lots of really nice free liveries for MSFS. But viewing and enjoying them in all their glory is not so easy. But... it is possible. (sorry about the title, I couldn't resist 🙂 ) Hopefully this gets easier to do in the future. Let's hope Asobo continues to update MSFS. The picture below was created using Lorby's WAMA add-on.

Has anyone tried out RNAV after SU6? I just tried it on the GTN750 and found that instead of the big loop that we were getting when activating the approach, the flight plan now goes straight to the IAF, bypassing the transition fix... Better maybe, but not quite correct.. Is this just the GTN 750 that has the incorrect logic, or does the default Garmin have the same problem?

Seriously. Boston Logan is one of my favorite routes to fly to from New York, and I've been pretty eagerly scanning for a bespoke rendition of the airport for MSFS. So when I stumbled across a version in the marketplace, I was ready to hop right on it! Until I looked at the picture's.... In growing disbelief. Was this a joke? A mistake? Early development pictures? Holy word-not allowed, there's better freeware out there for other sims. I know Asobo/microsoft seems determined not to curate their store, and I hate to be that guy, but this airport is a monstrosity. Caveat emptor!

Hello Gang! After SU6, has anyone noticed that the blue taxi lights at airports kind of flicker and turn dark as you get close?? I've tried adjusting the LOD to 100, 200, and settled on 300 but this happens regardless. Any ideas? Night lighting at 300 is fantastic.

I tried searching and found nothing on this. Picked up the 170B yesterday and the GPS is almost unreadable as it is very dim. I’ve seen YouTube videos with the 170 and all the gps in the cockpit are lit as one would expect. Just after downloading and while decompressing the 170, I got a CTD. Rebooted and the plane was there so did a flight with a very dim GPS. Booted up this morning hoping to figure it out, but no go. Also tried reinstalling because of the CTD but still a very dim GPS. Any ideas? Really appreciate any help.

I understand F1 and F2 are the keys for reverse thrust. What about reverse propeller braking, e.g., for the DC-6. Can someone help? Thanks

Am I doing it wrong or is the 208 incredibly slow to climb with payload and constantly overtorqueing the engine after the last update?

I can not figure out how to bind reverse thrust to my Keyboard. The proper element to be controlled would be "Toggle Thrust Reverse" and / or "Thrust Reverse Hold", correct? If so, I have tried to bind both of these and all it seems to do is bring me to idle thrust, not reverse thrust. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks, Dave

I've been watching FS2020 since it came out... I have a copy but life has just been too busy to fly... Targeting sometime next year to get back in the groove after a new PC. At any rate, there seems to be a lack of super high end, study type aircraft with a focus on hyper-realism, though maybe I've been missing the boat... I have not flown the Ovation for 6 months or more, but, I updated it a few days ago and was greeted with a flashing red caution/warning on the panel in the upper left at startup. Anyone know why and how to clear this warning? Also, it is not clear at all to me how to use the mouse to move the mixture and propeller controls in MSFS. I missed a few updates in that 6 month absence. The control is highlighted and a box pops up with an up/down arrow on the left, a question mark in the center and a box with LOCK on the right, but I can't adjust the control in or out. duh. The keyboard assignments for these controls work as expected. Heck, I can't even press a button…

Anyone having problems with the mk9 spit? The magnetos don't seem to do anything, I can start in the air and they don't do anything, I can switch them off and it doesn't cut out. I can even land and switch off and then start her up again all with the mags off. If I start cold and dark the work in as much as the engine wont start with them off but I don't get and mag drop when I switch them off, in not sure mag is actually doing anything at all. Click spot for the door overlaps the radiator switch too so I have to move my position to be able to click on it. I have deleted and reinstalled in from the market place but it is just the same.

Hi: In msfs2020 I'm flying the TBM930 and it always performed great. After update 6, whenever I put on the Parking Brake the master caution alarm comes on like normal but if I hit the Master caution button to silence the alarm the button goes from bright red to no red as it should. The problem is that the Parking Brake Alarm still keeps beeping. The only way to silence it now is to turn the parking break off. The problem didn't exist prior to update 6.Any else having this problem? Any Ideas? Thanks Al Skorich
