Hi all, I just wanted to post up here to let any of you that are thinking about getting into using a tablet with your sim (or any other need for one) I found a great buy this morning at Micro Center for this 10.1" tablet and I bought 2 of them. I now need to learn how to integrate into the sim. These originally sold for $160 so at $49.99 they are a bargain and they have very good online reviews as well. The only drawback is you need to buy in the store only, no online orders for these. https://www.microcenter.com/product/638516/vankyo-matrixpad-z10-gray

I had purchased a new PC a few months back, which is in my signature. With this configuration I can run the sim on ultra (1440p) and get 60+ fps everywhere. The problem I had was heat. Specifically, CPU heat. Now I know that the Intel 10850K CPU runs hot, but I have really been struggling to keep the temps below 80C. My PC has turned into a space heater, so I have been trying a few things to sort it out. First, locked frames at 60. That helped somewhat. Then I swapped cases. My old PC had a much larger full tower case, and that swap (royal pain) resulted in maybe 1-2 C reduction. Then I purchased new thermal paste, which was maybe good for 1-2 C reduction. But I was stil…

It used to be the "USER" waypoint that got created by MSFS, but lately, I am seeing these two waypoints appear on my GNS530. Does anyone know a way to get rid of them?

Is ridiculously modeled, to say the least, but, apparently they're aware of that and one of the planned features for SU6 is a new debug window for monitoring how it acts on the aircraft... Looking fwd into it ! I wonder if they even model ( as it is on other sims ) the ground effect over the different wing and stabilizer / elevator ... surfaces ? Something must really be wonky with how it's done right now... It's hillarious to see how it affects, for instance a 748-i on landing... Well... Let's hope they address it in some good way. I think this new "ground effect debug window" might have been a request from developers looking for tools to overcome the defa…

I have several saved flight plans which all include a parking position. But since some time, when I load the flight plan from the world menu, the sim starts at the active runway with engines running rather than at the parking position all cold&dark. I don't know since when it is like that, but some time ago, the sim always started from the correct parking positions. What has been changed?

Now more than one MSFS has come out, and bigger and more complex planes are beginning to appear. We have the highly anticipated 737 from PMDG and the A320 from Fenix Simulations, but also the Just Flight F28 Fellowship or TFDi Design MD-11.Another project is underway: the Airbus A350 by Digital Flight Dynamics. https://twitter.com/DFD35X Wait and see...

I’m looking to see if anyone has tried real sim gear units with msfs…For those who have, Am I correct in saying the only way you can use these is by having multiple hdmi ports (I only have one hdmi port so feel like I wouldn’t be able to use these) or is this a usb capable unit?

Hi guys Question - is there much performance difference when using a high res textured livery?? I run a modest rig and wondering if I should stay away from the 4k, 8k textures. This might sound stupid but I only run in 1080P as well so wondering what's the crack or if this is a factor Thanks

Depending on the altitude I'm flying there is a certain frosted or grainy appearance as if there is too much reflection off of dense tree tops etc. I think this began maybe in SU5 but I'm not sure. I don't think it was there early on. Anyway, not sure what's doing this but it's not optimal for sure. Down low or when taxiing it is not there at all. If you're aware of this and have found ways to reduce or eliminate please share. Cheers

So.... I was on the built-in flight planner, zooming in to get a closer look at an airport so I could choose a parking spot to start from, when I noticed an AI plane moving across the map, and clicked on it on a whim. I was then given the choice of choosing that plane as a Departure or Arrival point. Hmmmmm? So I clicked Departure, and the planner instantly filled with the AI planes flight plan, (it was heading to Boston) which I could now follow by clicking "fly" as usual. Clicking "Fly" I was deposited on the runway of the planes departure point, ready for takeoff just as if I had created a new plan. Did anyone else know you could do that?

I had basically shut off the built in ATC since a little after release of MSFS because it was terrible. However I just recently turned it back on again and just had a wow moment. I loaded up into KSFO and then heard the ATC talking to the AI traffic by calling the planes callsign, giving them clearance to land and what not, and as I sat on the tarmac with the drone camera can actually see the planes that they are communicating with! It's like real life where you're tuned into Live ATC and then doing some plane spotting. It was a cool experience to have in the sim. If only the ATC can be deeply improved, and I hope Asobo will improve on it. There has never been a real good…

For P3D: the menu system (eg. built-in 'instant replay' and the ability to save the sim state ie. plane, location, time, weather, etc.) For FSX: WOAI (World of AI freeware which only worked in 32-bit Windows)

Since MSFS is a very stable simulator and every update its getting better.. Im definitely using it more.. The thing is if you wanna scale up your sim to "real" levels of flying.. You should get this: - iPad Mini (or any iPad honestly) - ForeFlight Suscription - JeepFD and the area you use to fly.. In my case USA and Mexico.. Im using the CJ4 with the mods.. And the realism of the ProLine 21 is incredible also the performance of the airplane, etc.. If you really want to fly procedures like in real life, forget about getting on a 737, 777, A320 or any other aircraft this big, and fly for hours.. With the CJ4 you are more than enough... Use Foreflight... …

I was checking out real-time traffic in MSFS World Map by comparing specific real-world moving plane icons shown in the map to flight data in flightaware.com. There's always seems to be a time difference between the two. A plane might still be actively moving in World Map but it might show as having already landed in flightaware.com. Which source is more accurate? (I have a persistent 800+ Mbps connection). Thank you.

Hi!, Since I have problem with photogrammetry in fs 2020, I do not find a lot of POIs when I fly the discovery flights. I like to see those POIs but I miss a lot of them. When I fly towards the poi following the on screen directions I simply find the object is not there and only the plain ground. I am wondering what is causing that some POIs disappear. Is it because that the photogrammetry does not work for anymore? Photogrammetry used to be working before but It stopped working since I reinstalled the SIM after windows break down. I have had tried many threads on the forum to fix the photogrammetry problem but no luck. I shall be obliged if anybody can put some…

I've been putting off getting MSFS_2020 due to some negative reviews and reports of update issues over the past year. I posted the following stunning video on a flight forum a few weeks ago before I got the sim, but one veteran commentator wrote it off as just eye-candy, with unrealistic flight dynamics . I'm happy to say that having finally got the sim its as good as it looks, and handles pretty well for such a new release. * How is everyone else getting on with it? * Points out of 10 please for visuals and flight realism? * PC or Xbox? It has been a while since uploading anything from flightbeam and my manager is on my desktop. Apparently the app isn't in the right location and it is directing me to put it in simulator dir/flightbeam/flightbeam manager/simulator dir 29plams/29 palms/scenery dir Where is that in MSFS? I can't seem to find where that is located. Can anyone point me in the right direction to get there?

I recently started getting back into the FBW 320 again and noticed my flight plans weren't loading into the MCDU automatically like it used to. I opened up the installer and it said "c:\users\myname\appdata\...\packages\a32nx\work\flightplan.pln - could not be found, no such file or directory. What do I need to do to go back and get that message removed so it can locate the flight plan and upload it into the sim?

Ever since yesterday when MS's servers were down, I've been having CDT's before I get to the main menu. This has happened every time, about 10 tries. The last time i installed new scenery was about 2 weeks ago and was able to load without an issue. When I launch the sim, I get a message asking me to go into safe mode or normal mode. This happens every time since yesterday. Prior to that, I'd get the message about 25% of the time since the last update, but never had the CTD. My question is, how do I figure out what is causing this and how do I fix it? I have never opened a ticket or anything before so I am not sure if that is the way to go or if my submission just go…

Hi all! Does anyone know of an airline manager for MSFS 2020? I would like to be able to sign for an airline and then basically choose jobs (routes to fly) and stuff like that. I know there is ON-Air but it's not with real airlines.....Crew Manager was fun but it look like that project is dead 😞 Thanks!
