Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Pretty bummed to see we still have to see runway edge lights on all day at every airport. Guess it doesn't bother the masses.

What do you guys prefer and why? I'm currently using legacy but curious to know your thoughts on the modern take? Does it feel more natural and intuitive and makes things easier to control when in modern vs legacy?

1. No more logbook popping up when securing the aircraft. I thought it didn't really bother me before but now it's gone I think it did anyway. 😉 2. Flightplans (like from Simbrief) can be imported into the MSFS planner and won't be screwed up anymore when you select a gate (instead of the default runway). Very happy with this: now I can FINALLY do a flight in the FBW A320 with an imported Simbrief FP and complete (default) ATC coverage. Any more goodies?

I am trying to resolve an issue with my sim not being able to load. I get stuck about mid way from the sim going into the menu. I think it might be something with the Google Mod. Does anyone know how to completely remove it from my computer? I have it in a folder on my desktop but when I try to delete it, it says it cannot because a folder is in use by a program. However, I can't find the folder nor can I see what program is using it. I am trying to avoid completely uninstalling and reinstalling the sim and this is my last resort. The sim was fine yesterday until I updated some things that needed updating in the marketplace. Since then, it gets stuck every time. …

I can sometimes ask for clearance (depending on how I load my flightplan) but after that I get no option to contact ground or tower or whatever... Only traffic...! So ATC doesn't work at all for IFR flights in my FBW A320 anymore. Anyone else having the same problem? Or might this be a FBW A320 problem...?

Going "inside" of a cloud gives absolutely no sense of immersion now. At least before SU7 the lighting of the airplane "dimmed" as a shadow from the cloud would suddenly darken/shadow the skin of the aircraft as you go into the cloud - now the aircraft has the same sun glare on it as if outside of the cloud. Not only does this look comical - but it takes away any sense of being "inside a cloud" totally away. I am saddened at the major steps backward we go for small "improvements" that are attempted. any one knows how to solve this issue? I can't fly after I updated to SU7 last night, no menu, no options, no Airport lis, no "FLY" button. what do I do?

Yesterday I was able to load the sim without issue. Today, it gets stuck half way before getting to the main menus. The only new things that I have done recently is run the trial of FS Realistic, AIG, and the Google Mod. However, I have completed a full flight with those running, so I was wondering if anyone might know what could be causing the issue.

Without VSYNC on in the sim I always get terrible screen tearing, routinely I fly VSYNC on limited to 30FPS on my 60HZ 1080P monitor. After the update VSYNC doesn't limit frames and I have screen tearing, is it broken?

Hello, I would be very interested to read or see some opinions about the new Reno L-39 especially! Is the FM kind of realistic? Any errors like EGT overheat? What do they have for a different VC? many thanks!

Love this update so far, actually, someone’s tip to tirn motion blur to off really helped me even vs. the last update. BUT strange problem....even with a very bare bones Community folder and the default KRNT I can fly TO KRNT but the sim hangs on loading if I try to start FROM there,, no matter what aircraft I try IF it’s the second flight I’ve tried in the session or beyond? Very strange...Can anybody else recreate this? Thanks Steve

After the latest update to update 7, my fps have dropped significantly, from 35 fps to 10 less than one hour. I tested by parking a Cessna at the ESSB airport in Sweden. I let a view with three parked planes be immobile. Fps dropped slowly minute by minute and after 45 minutes the fps (frames) were down to 10 fps. Blue sky with little clouds on the horizon.Only a few cars drove in the picture.fps thus decreased significantly without anything in the image changing. All objects except individual cars did not move. Most of my settings in tge simulator at high or slightly lower. What is the reason for this?

I found the way to switch the panel but is not intuitive to use (understatement) !

Anyone tried it ? It is quiet expensive but it looks great with a lot of features. In a few days Justsim will release their version too.

NOTE: I just noticed my "ASSISTANCE OPTIONS" had been set to "ALL ASSIST" by SU7, so, the aircraft were all feeling really downgraded... Maybe the author of the video bellow had the same problem ( ? ) Make sure you check that "ASISTANCE OPTIONS" are set to your like after applying SU7 ! Hmmmm, looks like something's wrong... But I am aware it is still Work in Progress !!! Meanwhile I did really like the feel of the L-39.

Does anyone have a problem using a joystick to activate the Throttle Reverse function?

TrackIR is no longer working in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. You can either go back 20 years to using your hat switch, or stop flying Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. And Asobo knew about this in beta testing and still forced SU7 on its Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 customers! I (and most of the TrackIR users I know on the Flight Simulator Forum) have chosen to stop flying it. For us, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is dead. 💀

I cannot walkaround anymore

Hello simmers, I updated the aps in the ms store as required. Now when I launch sim only thing it does is launch the store... Store also updated itself and has another layout now... The msfs2020 icon shows a little cloud with arrow, like I have to download msfs all again... Anyone have this also ?

I'd love to see a few more details in the cockpits before I purchase. I don't care for the entire pack but I'd probably spend the 20 bucks for 2 of them. As I understand it these are very lite products so I am realistic about what I would be buying. Does anyone know where more screenshots are?

I have already submitted this to Zendesk, as it happened from the moment I installed the update (the hotfix made no difference). So it's definitely something that happened due to the update not anything I have changed. It only happens in cockpit view not in external views. Basically if I load any default plane and just don't touch anything, the view point slowly drifts to the left and upwards until lit rests looking at the ceiling and turning round and round. Nothing I have tried has made any difference (resetting the joystick etc. The joystick actually works as normal and I have lost none of my previous settings. So it may be something else.
