Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I was cruising along in the external view enjoying the scenery. Decided to go to cockpit view to check the gauges. Everything normal, Scanned over to the right to check the MFD and then back to the left to the normal view. I was surprised that I was seeing a large pair of sunglasses completely covering the front view. Just like the pilot would view it from his eyes. Scanned back to the right again and then right back, and it was gone. Only lasted a few seconds. Weird,, Has anyone else seen this? Roy

Hi all. I have a new Acer X38S monitor. I absolutely love it. It is rated for HDR600. In my windows system I have HDR turned on in display settings. But when I go into the sim the HDR10 option is grayed out. I don't know what else to do since HDR is turned on for the monitor in Windows 11. Any suggestions as to what's going on? Thanks..........

Just wondering if the ongoing MSFS Public Beta has provided any new options for implementing the throttle in the TBM 930 with a typical throttle controller (e.g., the Saitek TQ, etc.)? Thanks, Al

Hey guys,I have been flying around with the sim from day one. I have used the ai pilot extensively even though it doesn't work well. I have always used the option to show direction and it includes the miles to my destination (airport). Now it only shows the arrow and not the distance and I have not changed any settings, but I have the updated sim so maybe this a feature that they no longer have. Does anyone know what happened to this feature or a setting to get it back? thank you

I have played with every in-sim setting for lights on/off and the potentiometers and I have also played with everything I can find in spad, including loading some other people's stuff, but the only light I can get on in the cockpit of a C172 is the panel light. Don't know how to get any general light in the cockpit. Trying pedestal lights, cabin lights, glareshield lights. I am guessing there is a way but I can't find it. Any advice?

Getting used to the Kodiak and flying in PNG and landing on the tiny mud strips and it is a challenge. Someone now made a mod to enable the GTN-750 in the Kodiak center MFD. I love the GTN-750 as all of us do. And the WT G1000NXI is nice also since its been modded into MSFS. One thing the GTN-750 can not do is set up a procedure for an airstrip that has no procedures. The G-1000NXI can. It makes a nice Vector or Straight in approach that the GPS laterally guides you into and the pilot has to do the VNAV manually. What do you prefere for these very hard to find little mud strip landings ? Do you like to have some lateral GPS guidance or do you like to go back to …

Hi folks. I thought I'd get two questions in for the price of one. 1. I have the Steam edition of MSFS. I am supposedly running the Beta version of the software (set up in the Steam app). The last few days I have been getting messages, when I start up the sim, about not being able to sync with the cloud. So this morning I went into Steam and ran a file integrity check. It came back telling me I had to reload 415 files, which it is not doing (ugh). Why would that be? Does the file integrity check not know I am on the Beta? I am afraid it is putting me back to the public standard version, even though my Steam setting say I am set up to install and run the Beta. …

All of the training lessons are defaulted to the Cessna 152. I am using the Logitech/Saitek yoke and throttle controllers. It seems that when I am asked to climb I cannot get full power. THe instructor said to climb for 7,000 to 8500. I put in full throttle and it only goes to around 2300 RPM. When I pull up even slightly on the yoke my speed drops rapidly. I climb for a little bit and then it stalls. I can't get to 8500 ft. Even a slight nose up attitude slows me down to around 60 KMH. I am not sure if this is a controller issue or a programming issue. I have fps limited to 60fps but at the main menu its crushing out over 100fps and burning up my laptop. how do you get msfs's own frame rate limiter to actually work while in the menu system?

Warrants its own post, since there is a video that really shows the difference a great mod can make: the default ESGR doesn't look bad at all, not great, but perfectly serviceable. Hello Folks; After enjoying MSFS 2020 for the past 3 weeks I just (8th Dec) started having problems with the application. Just out of the blue, it just hangs indefinitely once I hit "fly" to start a basic flight like I always do. Never had any type of issue since I purchased it on the 19th Nov. The only thing that I can think of is a Windows update (Feature update to Windows 10, version 21H2) on 8th. Dec; that same evening I started experiencing the problem. This shouldn't be the issue since they always say that make sure you are always on the latest version of Windows update.
