Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

So I have a button on my hotas for toggle reversers in the sim. This doesnt seem to work with the 737. Ive tried to sift through the manuals but couldnt find any info relating to this. Any tips?

It is hard to explain, but the existing external view (S key) looks slightly off. Is there a way to get an external view like with what we have in p3d and FSX? The sim almost looks stretched and distorted (especially when you zoom out) in MSFS.

Is Steam still the way to go (vs. Marketplace)? Same question for add-ons - any advatange in getting them via the Marketplace? Sufficient dedicated SSD size assuming I plan to get many add-ons (mostly airliners and airports)? For P3D 1 TB was sufficient. Thanks for any feedback

The sim rate button I have mapped quit working. Tried the skip to way point but it crashed the plane.

As always the marketplace on sale discount airports in the region of the new World update for a week or so after release. Map of the ones on sale. The 4 red marks are the free Asobo bespoke. The blue teardrops are marketplace airports on sale. The list going down is from upper left LIMC down to LICR. I won't buy them all, only some. Enough for me to fly a VFR route over Italy.

I’ve got flight plan in FMC and everything set up for takeoff. I take off and cannot engage the autopilot. Is there a trick I’m missing. I’ve watched YouTube video’s and it appears so easy but mine will NOT engage. Any suggestions? Thanks guys

One feature of the new Fenix that I'm currently enjoying, and that I haven't seen mentioned anywhere else, is the custom contrails. I think they look fantastic, and are much closer to reality (at least for shorter contrails) than the default ones trumpeted by Asobo last year. There are a few other things I like about this new plane too 😉

Ive been using live weather in this sim since release and despite its quirks it has always been plausible and pretty reliable. However on my past two flights the live weather started out fine but by the time I got to my destination the weather was rendered as clear skies even though heavy rain with cloud cover was reported by msfs's own atis. Restarting the sim at the destination rendered the weather correctly. Any ideas? Is there a way to force a re draw of live weather during flight? Both flights were about 4 hours in length, longer than ive done in a while.

Just wondering why planning for reverse idle or max reverse seemingly has no impact on the landing distance calculations in the EFB?

Hello, I want to know why placing the camera,cfg file to the fnx320 (Fenix) folder does not work. Doing the same with the corresponding.cfg camera files for either FBW32nx or PMDGB737 no problem at all. Any advise please?

Probably missing something obvious here but how do I get the menu screens to stop showing the various functions with the joypad controls and show the keyboard inputs instead? Tried Googling, no joy. Tried mooching around in Options no joy there either.

Hi, those that are flying with live traffic, do you notice airports and skies really quiet and almost empty? I do have ground traffic set to 0 since I don't like generic planes in the sim. I use AIG planes for traffic and do not launch AIG TC when using real live traffic.

For those of you like me, that were aching for key command support for the two APs on the FlySimWare C414, although the new beta does not include this natively, if you have AAO (Axis and Ohs); a comprehensive script for AAO is available on flightsim.to As well as controls for all functions of both autopilots, it includes many other assignable functions in the aircraft too. Just couldn’t help myself and made the purchase! Trying to download five liveries for now and it is literally taking forever. Is this unusual or have others experienced this? I have very high speed internet so that shouldn’t be an issue. Cheers, Pete

Haven't simmed really since the MSFS beta. Busy with real-life flying. Kind of have the itch again. My system is definitely derelict on the GPU side with a GTX 970. And my CPU is a now getting old with a 8600K at 4.8Ghz. Obviously, the GPU has to be upgraded. Is the CPU decent enough to put off for a while? As to the GPU, don't want to break the bank, so the highest I can get with Nvidia is a 3070. Highest with AMD is an RX 6800. Kind of worried about the Nvidia only having 8GB of memory, but do AMD cards work well with MSFS?

Just curious what the protocol is for a major product to get its own sub forum here at Avisim? I understand the idea of the Developer having their own specific site/process to deal with support issues. But I am speaking of 'general discussion' here. I would have thought the PMDG and Fenix (at least) would have their own sections here at Avsim. Does this have to be requested (paid for?) by the developer? Do the users have to vote or request it? Does Avsim even do this anymore? It is just utilizing the MSFS 2020 forum for these types of major addons is becoming quite unwieldy. Just curious if anyone has insights.

I have a replica Airbus stick that I used to have the red button disconnect AP like in real life. However, with the Fenix, it doesn't work. Is there a work around for this? Thanks!

Fenix update has just been released! Get it from your dashboard on fenixsim.com or from within the Fenix app. Lots of improvement, barely 48 hours after release!

Since last night ive been getting kicked off online mode due to "low bandwidth". My internet is working fine, anyone getting this issue?

So Im running my ipad for the Tablet on the a320 and it keeps disconnecting and wont come back no matter what I do. I sent a ticket it but I thought maybe someone here has figured it out. Let me know, I basically cant even get to takeoff wit the Ipad disconnecting and my firewall etc is fine. I dont get it. Cheers

With the sudden flood of complex aircraft on the market, this product seems to have fallen by the wayside in the forums. However, I still have an interest in it. Unfortunately, their forums are only accessible to customers. For those who have the product, have their been any comments from the developers about improving the sounds and or cockpit textures? If I knew there was a commitment to improving these areas, I might consider it more seriously. It sounds like a wonderful simulation, but the textures and sounds are holding e back.

Hi All, MSFS has been playing up slightly recently, I was wondering if anyone else had any experience with this? I am not in the Beta, so this is the current version of the sim. It started a week or so ago just after I had updated the FBW A320 to its latest development build. The sim starts fine, but then after selecting a flight in the A320 (which I have been using for over a year without issue) one of two things will happen, either the flight loading screen will hang at roughly a third of the loading bar or it will load, but then the track ir will stop working. Hi, when i fly (or better land) the Cessna Caravan and put the thrust in Reverse everything wors as expected until i put the thrust beck to idle. For some reasons the propeller speeds up again and generates forward thrust which makes the plane dash forward which i need to stop with the brakes. Why is this the case? Condition Lever is in High, Prop lever is above 90% when i touch down. Any suggestions? Thanks.
