Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I have just noticed a mesh problem in MSFS 2020 near EGPF Glasgow airport. The Greenock Road Bridge over Black Cart Water is rendered as a horrible solid lump that looks absolutely ridiculous. Can anyone else confirm this? Flying the PMDG 737-800 in VNAV mode, I noticed that the plane is not descending when it reaches top-of-descent. Is the plane supposed to automatically start descending itself based on the next lower altitude waypoint or does it require pilot intervention in the MCP. The same question for Decel. Does the plane automatically decrease speed or does it also require pilot intervention in the MCP?

Fellow simmers, did anyone notice that the Bendix/KAP140 Autopilot does not work in the DHC-2 if the 2024 Beta is used? The same AP works fine on the DHC-6. Once opting out of the Beta it also comes back in the DHC-2. I have no idea what could be the reason for this. Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks.

If someone would explain how to desensitize flight controls with a balance of these two settings..... also with suggested settings that would be great. I'm experimenting but it is like shooting darts at the wall, lol. It's for Black Square aircraft, the FSW Lear 35 etc. Sometimes it is like trying to hang onto a squirrel by the tail. Airliners are okay. Thank you.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Boeing 747 auto pilot landing tutorial after update.

I have a 3080 and have been chasing the DLSS 4 holy grail and have had not much success. Tried all the video suggestions and I have the the regeit to get the overlay showing K. I am getting 108 FPS but still have to deal with the blurries on pmdg fenix etc. Running TAA FG on I am getting around 85-90 with no blurries. Just wondering your thoughts. Seems to me 80+ FPS no blurries is a no brainer? I can post pics if need be. (572.16)

Saturday evening I was so happy with DLSS 4 and the high frame rate and great scenery. Sunday morning still found great scenery but the in game Frame Gen option/row in Graphics settings had vanished. I tried to verify that all the settings in nVidia Profile Inspector were as needed. But - NO: enable DLSS RR overide and SR overide were set to 0 rather than the required 1. And, override DLSS RR was set to 0 rather than ...FF as needed. That seemed odd because I had verified the correct values before the last good sim session. When I use the default shortcuts SHIFT-1..9 the views are out of the cockpit? Has been like this since I started using the ini 330, even before entering last week beta. Do you know of any fix? Thx

I have had FSRealistic for a while and really forgot how good it really is. I had to reinstall 2020 and never reinstalled it. The PMDG / IFly /BS / profiles are really nice. Does add a lot to the sim.

For people that purchased the 737 FMS, does anyone have a problem when you want to insert the date into the fms or for example insert the waypoint to close route discontinuity and the Winwing FMS freezes but the flight sim fms still works. There is a problem with the execute function. In sim it works, but it freezes the Winwing FMS until you press execute in the sim, than the WinWing FMS works again. P>S. Here is a link to a problem

I prob should try a couple more flights but wow, I tried something in my current flight that solved 3 questions: 1. How can I get rid of the stuttery AI traffic in BATC? I've tried so many things, locking BATC's internal FPS to 60, 90, 120, etc along w/ sim at 60FPS-fg, or sim unlocked, all to no avail. Maybe 5-10% of my encounters with AI traffic in the air or on the ground were decent but the rest were very choppy and stuttery and unacceptable. 2. How can I minimize artifact, especially strobing/flickering on tarmac, associated with NV Frame Gen? I’m having an issue where when I want to reset my cockpit camera back to normal (pressing “RESET COCKPIT VIEW”) the camera flies off to some random place. In this example, the camera flies back to the passenger cabin floorboards image1920×1014 188 KB The only way to get back up front quickly is to press “TOGGLE LANDING COCKPIT MODE”. I tried pressing “VFR PILOT VIEW SAVE” which works sometimes by saving your default cockpit view. However other times it does nothing. Feel like I’m going crazy here. How does everyone else save their default cockpit position and then quickly recall it after looking around?

Hello all. I'm currently hours into the installation of the flight plans, liveries, and such for the AIG Traffic Manager. The OCI installer was chugging along fine until it encountered United Airlines; in particular the repaint for the 737 MAX 8. As I type this, it appears to be stuck at 0%. I'm somewhat worried to close the application as I've pretty much invested my whole day to let it download and install. I'm appreciative of any feedback and ideas! Anyone else having issues starting the engines with the latest 2 Exp builds? I've been trying to fly out of RDU today and have attempted 3 times to get the engines started after pushback and have not been successful. I have everything set up correctly and it will switch to the engine start screen but nothing happens. I restarted the sim and tried again but the same thing happened. Yesterday was fine. Anyone else getting this? Thanks!

I never look at them and they yank a good 20% FPS during loading even when they're out of view in a jetway, so I don't want them I'd far rather be able to pan than look at these. Thanks

I am running MSFS 2020 with an RTX 4090. I updated to 572.16 via the Nvidia App and set DLSS Override-Model Presets for Frame Generation and Super Resolution to "Latest" and since I use DLAA I set DLSS Override-Super Resolution to "DLAA 100%". I made a few flights, and I was really impressed with the latest driver with DLSS 4. Clean, crisp graphics and little to no ghosting on the PFD speed and altitude tapes. But now whenever I select KSEA as a departure airport and the map zooms into the airport to start the flight it always crashes back to the desktop. I tried randomly starting at several other airports, and it doesn't CTD. Is anyone else running 572.16 having th…

What is it that prohibits placement of files in the community directories "sometimes"? I say "sometimes" I can, but for the last couple days I can't. I have tried zipping the files, but that still doesn't help. Thanks.

So I updated to Nvidia driver 572.16 on Friday. I always use DDU to uninstall the older driver first. After installing tha latest driver 2024 loads no problem but 2020 crashes just after checking for a update screen finishes. If I uninstall 572.16 and go back to 566.36 both Sim load without issue. Any Ideas? Thanks

Hello, I’ve been experiencing long freezes for years, like many other users. MSFS freezes for a few minutes and then resumes. I’ve tried everything: different planes, removed the community folder, tried various suggestions and graphic settings both at the card level and within MSFS, changed the graphics card, disabled antivirus, reinstall msfs etc., but nothing works. The freezes consistently reoccur at least once every two flights. The behavior is similar to when a device is connected or disconnected from a USB port, but in this case the USB ports are not involved (I used a low-level tool to check the events on the ports to verify this). Wondered if you guys have seen this? This is an x plane dev group bringing their Twinkie into MSFS! "Coming Soon" They also had a PA30 owner on their dev team. Looks like GNS or GTN for the panel, with glass panel coming later. Looks to have a basic Century autopilot too. Pics from Simmarket - price appears to be just a bit over 30 USD.
