Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Now that I've got things working (mostly), I still wonder about the start up of the sim. Do you have the same experience? 1. 30 secs of "nothing".. no reaction to indicate that I was successful in starting the program 2. 10 secs of black screen with grey surround 3. Flashy corporate logos 4. Pretty picture with "PRESS ANY KEY" 5. Pretty picture with blue bar 6. Grey surround with "WELCOME, SET YOUR EXPERIENCE" 7. New pretty picture with blue bar.. which takes a long time.. 8. Sim welcome screen Bizarre sequence IMHO.. Am I the only one?

Hello, I have the CH Products Flight Sim yoke. After finally setting up the yoke, with the help from the forum (thank you!) , I find that except for the Cessna 152 and 172, all the other aircraft's don't seem to respond or over respond to the yoke. The commercial airliners have terrible elevator response. The Jets seem to pull left/right on its own. The turboprops too have similar issues... So does each aircraft need its own profile setup to work? Thanks.

I have a question regarding the MSFS flight planner. If I select both airports and the straight line is drawn, I know you can then drag it and add waypoints. But from what I have seen on videos, those waypoints can be only other airports, VORs etc. But is it possible to drag the line and create a waypoint somewhere else (for example over a lake, forest or town)? And one more thing - is it known already, which external flight plan formats are accepted by the planner?

Hello, Just a quick question to the techguys because i have no clue. I have edited some of the aircraft.cfg files directly in the relating Aircraft folders. So what happens now when i install a mod for this plane into the communtiy folder that has an edited aircraft.cfg file too. My guess would be that the one in the community folder overrides the original one. Is that correct? And if yes, what happens when i have two separate mods installed (for the same aircraft) and both have an aircraft.cfg? One might thinkt it'd be best to merge all together in one file? Has anyone experience with that? Best regards

1 new airplane and a few new airports.

The purchase was quick download and install about 2 minutes. It is a lot like the X-plane Carenado planes. Beatifully rendered. Flies very well. But generally not my favorites. I did a quick flight from KACK to KBOS using my new Local Cache I made of New England about 100MB size. The AP worked perfectly as did the G1000. I did the ILS 33L and it nailed the GS and loc, it did hunt the loc a bit, but that is probably realistic as I switched to APR mode outside of BENNN, as I got close it was right on. GS intercepted turned from white to yellow and stayed perfect all the way down. The T/O and landing was easy, I have about 30 hrs in the 182 (2000 hrs tota…

I am not terribly computer savvy -- thus what is most assuredly a stupid question. I had three 1080p monitors successfully operating in Nvidia surround and MSFS 2020 yesterday (thanks to advice from this forum!). I had to disconnect and move my computer today, and although I have installed the monitors back into their original ports, the Nvidia surround configuration app no longer allows me to setup any resolution greater than 1080x3240. I recall it originally being 1080x5760. This seems to cause the monitors to align vertically. The app won't allow me to reorient the in landscape nor does it offer anything greater than 3240. I've been using the "old" MSFS for almost 25 years, and I know how much performance was affected by the scenery and the number of objects being asked to draw, especially with FSX. With this new Flight Simulator, I have to say I'm blown away by the performance that is kept high no matter the fact that tons of little details are included! Now if I could only figure out how to work those airliners...

The actual airport diagram for KMIA (LatinVFR) shows up as an ortho image in my C172's G1000. It seems this happens with other 3rd party airports as well. Addon's I have installed that may cause this are: PHP-NoTooltips-Fix workingtitle-g1000 Anyone else have this? picupload

Because the default scenery in the game is so fantastic, what I'm doing at the moment is flying VFR using landmarks in the Cessna 152, and reading about the places I encounter along the way. Currently about halfway through a flight following historic Route 66 across the US, stopped off in Amarillo. Been good fun so far. Does anyone else do this in game? Can we get a thread going of different interesting paths to follow? I was thinking of going up the Yangtse or along the Trans-Siberian railway next, or maybe a shorter tour of the Wild Atlantic Way in Ireland.

Is anyone else seeing this effect? At some points, I get this pixelation /grain on reflections, clouds, other planes (when they go transparent). Changing settings in the user cfg doesn't have any effect it seems. Any tips to reduce or avoid them? Thanks! RTX 2060, latest drivers, etc.

My home airfield lies in the sim ca. 300 ft lower (elevation) compared to real world (EPWS). Terrain around it forms a kind of depression. Seems like the erroneous airfield elevation data pushed the ground around it down. Any quick method to fix this (with SDK)?

My one month xbox pass is going to expire soon, I wonder if I can buy a FS2020 key, seen I've already installed the game by Microsoft Store. Is it possible to buy a key from one of the shops suggested in allkeyshop .com? Is it safe? Do they works? Have you any site to recomend? Or is better the official Store? Hi all, Tried the AP in the C172 today and though the altitude hold worked I found the heading bug and compass did not. I was flying from 3W5 Concrete back towards the coast to Anacortes. I was flying mostly West but the compass showed I was flying East. Tried to set the hdg bug straight ahead and couldn't figure out why the aircraft wanted to make a 180 turn! Then I realized the heading on the compass showed East when I was flying West. Anyone know of this bug, or is it something I'm doing wrong? Thankss

Hi bought msfs2020 last week from microsoft...install and have flown for a few days. This week i get a system file error (-2015294512) each time i run msfs.... Cant find anybody online with same error only errors with different games...ive tried there work arounds... Reinstalling game services..sign in/out of microsoft store....then randomly the game runs....no pattern to my clicking lol Till next time i run win 10 then the game again... At the mo im system restoring to a point last august and gunna take it from there Andy

live weather is still not working like it should be... I`m since alphas... and made a lots of hours in FS... winds are broken in the sim, even if we could see some parameters on main screen it does not affect in the sim......on my local EPGD - windstock is always dead.. weather parameters are far from metars very often... some time cloud formations are changing rapidly from cavoc to clear sky when restarting at the same point....in few minutes Weather should be priotity to fix - Asobo ! brds
